Chapter 51 - MacAvoy

Chapter 51: Challenge
Reign

“I don’t think so.” Damien grinned. “I, Alpha King Damien Ayres Hunt, challenge Luther Garan for the title of Vampire King and for the right, which I already have, to mate Alpha Queen Reign Dyanera Rose Raven Black HUNT.” Damien stressed our last name. “What?! NO! I am not some piece of property you can fight over!” I shouted. “Babygirl, it’s not like that, you know that...” Damien tried to soothe me. “...there is no way that I’m losing you.” He whispered. “Awe, so sweet.” Steven, my father dearest, said with such sarcasm. “Until the outcome of the challenge, Queen Reign stays with her true mate.” Grampa Ryan stated.

“Well, I have yet to accept said challenge.” Luther said with boredom. “So, what are you waiting for?” Uncle Martin said. “Here’s your chance to prove you are the greatest King there is and you’re not taking it?” Uncle Martin scoffed. “I can’t believe I fell for your father’s bullshit. I hid my mate and sent my son’s away because I believed everything' he told me.” He starts pacing. “I made my sister runaway because of him! She died alone with no one else there other than Reign, my niece was left all alone.” Uncle Martin fought back sobs. “You and your followers aren’t going to make it out of the territory alive, that I promise you.” He said standing tall and proud. Noah and Jonah moved to stand next to him one of them on each side. “Martin, you never had it in you to kill anyone.” Steven snickered.

“Your Majesty! Your Highness!” A voice yelled. Steven was already annoyed. “What?!” Hey growled. “Our men, they are…” he trailed off. “Our men are what?” He snapped. “Th-they’re gone. All of them, just gone.” The man waved his hands. “No, not gone.” Shadow chuckled. “Just in disposed of.” He grinned slyly. “You have two choices.” Damien started. “You can renounce your claim to the kingdom and on MY MATE, or you can accept my challenge and we fight until submission or death.” “Damien, No.” I whispered. He smiles softly at me and throws me a wink. Oh, my dear Goddess, what is this man up too? “Who are you to make demands of me? No one makes demands of me!” Luther roars. “I am Alpha King Damien Ayres Hunt, and I just did, so what are you going to do about it?” Damien smirked raising his brow. I could feel Damien’s calmness flow through me which made me feel better and little more relaxed. Luther was getting angry; I could feel his anger building and roll off of him. His grip loosened, I elbowed him in the gut and made a run for it. I darted as fast as my short little pregnant legs could carry me without falling. It was hard to run as fast as I used to since I’m carrying three babies. As I got closer to Damien, he opened his arms for me, and I threw myself into his arms. He hugged me tight nuzzling his face in my hair and I nuzzled my face into his chest. “Damien.” I sniffled. “Sshhh, your safe now, he’s not going to ever touch you again.” He whispered in my ear and held me close. “Enjoy your time with my daughter, it will be the last time you touch her.” Steven gritted. “I’m still waiting on Luther’s acceptance of my challenge.” Damien reminded him.

“Yes, Mr. Garan. What is your decision?” An older man said. “Elder Donald? What are you doing here?” Steven asked. “And please, my son should be addressed as King Luther as I have hand him my crown.” He said with annoyance. “Former Alpha King Ryan Rose Raven informed us of your attack on his land and your attempt to abduct his granddaughter, Alpha Queen and Vampire Princess Reign.” He nervously laughed. “Vampire Princess?” He stated with a little fear but quickly recovered. “Yes, she is the granddaughter of the American Vampire King, Jaxsyn Black.” Elder Donald informed him. I could see a quick flash of fear.” Attack? Abduct? Never, it’s all just a simple misunderstanding.” He waved his hand dismissively. “Then why do we have two hundred of your warriors in our dungeon?” Jyden questioned. “I had to make sure that we were not harmed.” He shrugged his shoulders. Koltyn scoffed. “Really? Two hundred warriors?! Bullshit!” Koltyn snapped. “It’s a bit much and you do know they aren’t any match to us?” He laughed. “Don’t ya think?” He snorted. “Gamma Koltyn, please there is no need for such language.” Elder Donald scolded. Koltyn growled at Steven, as he moved away. “My apologies Elder Donald.” He bowed.

“Now I do believe a challenge has been made which needs to be accepted or rejected.” Elder Donald turned his attention back to the matter at hand. “Elder, there is no need for this challenge, as it turns out Reign is my…” “That’s Her Majesty to you!” Noah and Jonah growled. He rolled his eyes, “Her Majesty,” he dead panned. My twin cousins lowly growled at the disrespect he was showing. “She is my daughter.” “Wrong! She is my daughter!” Deklyn seethed. “Not to sound rude but the issue at hand is the challenge issued by Alpha King Hunt.” An older female reminded. “Yes, Elder Peggy is correct.” Elder Donald agreed. “King Garan, you have until morning to make your decision…” he started. But of course, I can’t keep my mouth shut. “NO! He needs to decide NOW!” I yelled. “He has made my life hell. Luther, who I have come to find out is my half-brother, abused me for over a year! He beat the dignity outta me, he made me believe that no one would ever want me. He threatened to kill me if I ever told anyone what he did to me. Everything that made me who I was, was slowly beaten outta me.” I said standing strong. “I was seventeen and had no idea what love was, but I did know what he was doing wasn’t love. When I finally got away from him, he stalked me, burned my house down, he killed my dog and tried to kidnap me, TWICE!” By this time, I was pacing, Dyanera was growling and snarling trying to come to surface. She wanted to protect me, and she also wanted to rip Luther to pieces for what he had done to me. “I want this over! If I could challenge him, I would.” I growled. Both Elders frowned, turned, and looked at Steven and Luther. “You allowed your son to abuse your daughter, his half-sister?” Elder Peggy asked. “And he was romantically involved with her?” She frowned. “For the record, we did not know she was my daughter at the time.” He scowled. “Like that makes it any better!” I shrieked. “You still allowed him to abuse a female.” Elder Peggy spit out. “And not just any female, but the true heir to all the Realm Kingdom's.” “I AM THE TRUE KING of all realms!” Luther roared. “You stole the kingdoms from my grandfather! From my mother, if it hadn’t been for you, my mom would still be alive!” I sobbed. “Just accept the fuckin’ challenge! I want you out of my life for good!” “Babygirl, you need to calm down, please, our pups are feeling your emotions as I am.” Damien told me as he pulled me closer and nuzzled me tighter. “That will be hard to do, leaving your life for good considering that I am your father and Luther is your brother.” Steven smirked. “Ppfftt! Anyone can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad, and you’re far from being a man.” Deklyn commented. “Ouch, this coming from a man who continued to fake his death for eight years.” Steven fake pouted. All I could do was glare at him. “Deklyn may have not been there for me after mom died but he was and still is my dad and before his death, he was my dad and I love him with all my heart and am happy and relieved that he’s here with me. It doesn't matter what you say or think, you will never be a part of my life or my children's lives. You are nothing to me.” I stood next my father. “This man standing next to me, he raised me since the day I was born. He loved me and did what he thought was right in order to protect me, but he is here now to help protect me from you and your deranged son.” My dad put his arm around me and held me close to him and hugged me tight. “You will no longer cause my daughter harm. So, accept the challenge and end this.” He said taking a protective stance in front of me.

“I, Luther Garan, King of the supernatural realms, accept the challenge issued by Alpha King Damien Ayres Hunt for the kingship of the supernatural and human realms and beyond and rights to Reign Dyanera Rose Raven.” He agreed. He left out Black Hunt from my name on purpose, I could see it in his eyes as he smirked at me. “You know that’s not my name but whatever.” I huffed. “I will never take your name. With the challenge accepted, the battle will take place at sunrise.” Elder Donald stated. “You will not have any contact with each other and you, King Luther, will stay away from the Queen.” Elder Peggy instructed. Damien pulled me to his side and held me tight. I rubbed my thumb across his jaw. “You have to beat him.” I whispered. “I will beat him, and he will no longer be a part of our lives.” He promised. “Damien, you should take Reign inside, she needs to get some rest for at least a few hours.” Aunt Ebbie told him. “And you need to rest as well, you’re going to need it.” Damien picked me up bridal style, “wake me at three am,” he told Jyden. “Keep Spencer, Spyder, Moses, Shadow and the wonder twins guarding the pack house. I don’t trust Steven or Luther.” He instructed as we walked into our living quarters. “Your majesty.” Grampa Jax called. “Please just call me Damien. You are our grampa after all.” He chuckled and gently put me down. “Habit.” Grampa Jax laughed pulling me and Damien into a comforting hug. “I have instructed my fighters to help guard your home and your, well, my family. You are my grandchildren after all, and I am here to help protect my family.” He said with pride. “If it’s okay, we would like to stay here.” Grace said. “That would be really great.” I sniffled, Damien pulled me into his arms and engulfed my whole body with his. Everybody let out small laughs, “all you see are her little feet dangling.” Grant laughed. “Shut up!” I mumbled with my face buried in Damien’s neck. Chuckles filled the room. I adjusted my head and pressed my cheek to his chest. “Babe.” “Hhmmm.” He hummed. “Uh…your children have decided that they are hungry again.” I giggled. “They’re hungry or you’re hungry?” Grifyn asked with a raised brow. “There’s really no difference right now.” I snorted. “Me, them, it doesn't matter because we need food.” I continued to snort laugh. “Cloie, please ask Ana to bring in some snacks and juices.” Damien asked. “Already done, she will be here in about ten minutes.” She smiled as my brothers furrowed their brows. “You forget, all our pups are connected, when one is hungry, they all decide they are hungry.” She giggled. “So, all of you are hungry?” Aleya asked. We all nodded. “That is crazy.” Her and Grace said in unison. “If you’re lucky, it will be the same for you.” I smirked.

We all went into the living room and sat down. “Damien.” Uncle Martin called. “Uncle Martin, c’mon in.” I smiled at him. “Thank you.” He bowed. “Uncle, please, you don’t need to do that, not anymore.” I assured him. “It’s become a habit.” He smiled softly. “Damien, we will need to talk before you meet Luther in battle.” “Sure, I’ll be getting ready at three, you can meet us on the training field at three thirty.” Uncle Martin bowed, hugged his boys, and kissed Cloie on the top of her head and turned to make his way out but stopped and looked at his sons. “Your mother is being brought here; she should be here by noon tomorrow.” He smiled. “I am sorry for all the pain I have cause you and her over the years. I never wanted to send you away, but I was afraid that Steven or Luther would have you killed when they found out that you didn't hold their same beliefs.” He started to explain. “But the hunters?” Noah asked. “When Steven found out you left, he sent them after you. I sent them in the wrong direction though.” He chuckled. “Those vampires were not very smart. I hope that one day you can find it in you to forgive me.” “If mom forgives you then that's all that matters. I think you have proved yourself by fighting by with us against the rogues.” Noah started. “We do love you dad.” Jonah finished hugging their father. Cloie joined in on the love also. “Night kids. Night dad.” They responded. “Who’s hungry?” Ana asked gliding into the room followed by daddy D. “Question is, who isn’t hungry?” Jaz giggled. Grant and Grifyn were gonna say something but changed their mind and shook their heads with a chuckle as I popped an eyebrow at them. We all sat in comfortable silence eating and the guys discussed strategy for Damien’s fight. I didn’t want to talk about it, but I know it had to be done, there’s no telling what Luther will do.

“Babygirl.” Damien cupped my cheek. “Are you okay?” “Hhmmm…sorry just thinking.” “About?” “I just wish it didn’t come to this.” I sighed. “If mom had just told me the truth.” “What’s done is done, even if she had told you he would still be after you.” Jyden said. “Now…if my asshat of a big brother had come clean about you…” Jaz started. “I get it Jaz! I already have guilt to last me an eternity of lifetimes.” Damien growled. “Like Jyden said, what’s done is done.” I said hugging Damien tight, nuzzling closer to him. “These last six months have been…” I trailed off. “Crazy, awesome, scary, memorable.” Jyden, Jaz, Koltyn, and Ryott each said. “Lifechanging.” Both Damien and I said together looking at each other. “You two should really get some sleep, especially all our preggo mom’s.” Grifyn noted. “He’s right.” Mom Grace said walking in with Ana to clear the food and dishes. “All of you need to try and get some rest.” “I don’t know if I can sleep.” I admitted. “You need to try; remember you’re carrying three strong little Alpha’s and they love to zap your energy.” Mom chuckled. “So please go lie down and at least try to rest.” Damien stood up and pulled me to my feet. “C’mon, little one, mom’s right, we should all try to rest and get some sleep. We will meet here at three-fifteen and then head down to the training field. Ladies, you don’t have to go down until later.” He told us. “In all honesty, I don’t want any of them there.” Noah admitted out loud. “Yeah, especially Reign.” Jonah said. “What? Why?” We yelped. “I think we would feel safer if all of you stay up here, where it’s safe.” Jonah caressed Cloie’s baby belly. “No!” I demanded. “I’m not staying here while my mate is out there fighting for our future.” I could feel myself start to panic and hyperventilate. “Reign, baby, you need to calm down. Slow your breathing.” Damien soothed rubbing my back. “Da-d-Damien, please let me be there with you. I need to be there please.” I begged. “Sshhh…okay…let’s get some rest and we will talk in the morning; see how you’re feeling.” He picked me up and started walking to our room. “Everybody go get some rest and meet here at three.” He instructed. “Cloie, would you and the wonder twins show everyone else to the guest rooms on the floor below us?” “Yeah sure, c’mon,” she motioned as the twins lead my brothers to a room and Grace went with Moses. “Hey Grant, Grif, you two can go ahead and stay with us, I, we have an extra bedroom.” Moses stopped them. “If you don’t mind?” Grif said. “Dude, you’re family of course we mind.” Moses watched them for a minute to see if they picked up on what he just said. Hey! they both said in unison. “Just kidding, of course, you can stay with us.” Moses laughed.

“See you in the morning.” Damien said. “Shadow, Jen please have Spyder, and Spencer make sure the floor is secure and follow up with Jakob before call it a night.” “You got it boss.” Shadow said and Jenny mock saluted. I snorted out a laugh, Damien grinned shook his head and carried me to our room. He gently sat me on the bed and helped me change into one of his t-shirts, which fit me like a dress. Ya know with him being like six foot nine almost seven foot and me barely at five feet.
