The Meeting

***Damien***

As I walked out my bedroom door I couldn’t help the odd feeling that overcame me, it didn’t seem like Guinevere to agree with me. I tried to feel around for her emotions through our mate bond, but nothing seemed off, shrugging it off I hurried down the hall, mind linking Alex, telling him to meet me in my office immediately . I then sent out a massive mind link to the remaining members of the council asking them to meet me there within the hour. I decided to leave my father out of the link. If he couldn’t put the past behind him he had no right being given pertinent information for the present.

I ran into Alex in the hall leading towards my office. He smiled at me teasingly. “So I see you couldn’t resist the temptation of the mate bond.”

“Shut up Alex,” I rolled my eyes at him, pulling him in for a quick hug.

“So where is our Luna? Shouldn’t she be present for this meeting. We need her insight on what she wants for Luna ceremony.”

I sighed opening the door to my office and walking in. “There won’t be a Luna ceremony currently. Plans have changed.”

Alex gave me a weird questioning look. “Why not? You aren’t taking someone else as your Luna are you?”

Leo became agitated at his questioning and let out a low growl. “NO.”

I inhale deeply, trying to calm my nerves as well as Leo’s, reminding myself it wasn’t Alex’s fault that we wouldn’t be celebrating Gwynn tonight.

“No I am not taking another female, my father refuses to give Guinevere his blessing, even after showing him proof that Guinevere’s mother was never his mate.”

“He’s a stubborn old fool, you don’t need your fathers blessing. This is your pack now, you’re the alpha.”

I felt my nostrils flare, feeling myself become more annoyed at the entire situation.
Sometimes I find myself envying Alex and his naivety to the social standings of the pack. Even though he was my beta, he was still able to live his life freely, whatever Alex did don’t effect the entire pack.

“Without my father’s blessing, there will be opposition from council members, plus elder pack members, to Guinevere becoming the Luna. I don’t want Guinevere to constantly have to fight for her right as Luna, I was the pack members to obey her and respect her. I don’t want anyone to think she’s beneath them.”

Alex nodded his head in agreement, at least he understood that opposition could lead to a feud inside the pack.

“I also don’t have time to fight anyone on this matter, there’s something entirely more pressing that we have to deal with.” I tell Alex.

I spend the remainder of our time alone bringing Alex up to speed on our upcoming war with Jupiter.

“How the fuck are we suppose to win a war against the God of War?” Alex asked bewilderedly.

“We have a secret weapon. Remember how I told you about Guinevere’s wolf Sabrina? Well she is the moon goddesses daughter reincarnated. Sabrina has the capability to take down Jupiter.”

Alex crossed his arms, and stared at me, “and you’re really going to let your mate stand off against Jupiter?”

My heart began to beat rapidly and it felt like it was going to pound right out of my chest. It isn’t like I had a choice in the matter, Sabrina was a part of Guinevere and this is her destiny. Without Sabrina fighting we would be doomed. Werewolf kind would cease to exist.

I let out of heavy sigh. “There’s nothing I can do to prevent it. If Sabrina does not fight Jupiter, our kind will cease to exist.”

I could see concern in Alex’s eyes as well as a trace of pity, pity that I would be offering my mate up as a sacrificial lamb. Alex looked like he wanted to say something else, but the council members had started to arrive.

I sent Alex a quick mind link. ‘We will talk more later. Please check on Guinevere, she said she was going to spend the afternoon in the library.’

‘Yes Alpha.’

Alex walked out of my office, leaving me alone with the council members.

Before I could acknowledge their presence the room broke out in applause.

Elder Caleb, Alex’s dad stood up. “Congratulations Alpha, I see you’ve found your mate. This is cause for celebration. Where is the Luna, shouldn’t she be present?”

I cleared my throat, letting my Alpha tone drip through the room. “My mate is resting. She is recovering from our mating, and we need some privacy for the next few days. I have called you here not to discuss my mate, but to discuss a more dire situation. We are under attack, werewolf kind is under attack. We need to prepare for war. It is coming. It will be upon us in a foresight.”

The majority of the room stayed quiet. My alpha tone having a strong effect on them. They dared not question me. Elder Caleb wasn’t effected as much, he was a strong former beta, he could resist the Alpha pull to some degree.

“How do you know this and why are we just now hearing about this?” Caleb questioned me.

I increased my Alpha voice just a smidge more, I watched everyone in the room wince, Caleb tried to not let it show that I was effecting him, but I could see the head of sweat traveling down his nose.

“I only just found out yesterday when I visited the Silent Forest pack. Their beta is also an Oracle, I was also present when the Alpha of the Silent Forest pack fell to the hands of Jupiter. Elder Derek, the Oracle, had us leave immediately, the Blue Moon pack, our pack, is the only chance we have at stopping this war. I am not asking permission from the council to increase our defenses. I am informing you of what’s to come and what we will do about it.”

I looked around and watched the council members nod their heads, accepting my word as law.

"My mate's identity will be kept a secret until it must be known. She will train with the warriors. When she does she will have a mask on. Everyone will listen to her, and they will treat her with respect. If i find any pack member disrespecting their Luna, they will be banished. My mate is essential in stopping Jupiter, she plays an important part in this war, It has been prophozied about and foretold by the oracle."

Elder Caleb felt the need to once again question me. "Why does her identity need to be kept a secret?"

"That is between her and I" I growl at him, refraining from hurting him, due to the fact hes Alex's father. "Her identity isn't important. Whats important is that we prepare for this war."

"Yes Alpha," the council agreed in unison.
