Chapter 56: Guinevere VS Jupiter

I let Luna, the moon goddess, take full control of my body, as we flew down towards Jupiter. I was ready to put a stop to this madness and end all the unnecessary blood shed of my people.

I glance out my peripheral and notice that Sabrina had already reached Damien, freeing him from the undead wolf’s grasp, a quick glance at him told me he’d be alright. Knowing that he would be ok, would help me from becoming distracted.

‘I’m going to put up a shield,’ Luna mind linked me. ‘Power will radiate all around once we begin fighting Jupiter, I don’t want anyone to become an accidental casualty.’

I nodded in agreement. Damien would be pissed once he found out, but this was for the safety of everyone around.

Luna raised both of my arms as we continued to descend towards Jupiter, I felt a surge of power rush through me, and saw the magical barrier go up.

‘What the fuck Guinevere,’ Damien linked me noticing the magical barrier going up around me and Jupiter, keeping everyone else out.

‘It’s for the safety of the pack.’ I linked him back.

‘You don’t need to be a martyr Gwynn. We can do this together, take down the shield.’

I knew Damien would become enraged, but I had no choice, I cut off our link, like the Moon Goddess had taught me during out first training session, clearing my mind of all distractions. I needed my full focus to defeat Jupiter.

Once again the Moon Goddess raised her hand and I felt another surge of power race through my body, this time aimed at Jupiter, who was too busy watching all the chaos unfold that he hadn’t seemed to notice me yet.

The power shot through my body and went flying straight at Jupiter’s heart. I could feel my excitement rising, its actually going to hit him, Maybe this final battle would be over before it finally began.

Right before the power surge hit Jupiter, he vanished. His manic laugh surrounding me.

‘You’re going to have to try harder than that, Your Highness.’ He cackled, reappearing right behind me.

I turned around, feeling the anger inside me swell, my anger, but as well as the Moon Goddess’s ancient anger towards Jupiter. She was finally confronting her rapist head on and she intended to destroy him.

“I just wanted to make sure you were paying attention and saw the face of the woman who is going to destroy you.” The Goddess said talking through me, making my eyes flash over to hers.

“Ah Luna, My dear Wife. You finally decided to leave the protection of your precious Moon.”

“ I am not your wife Jupiter,” Luna snarled at him, raising her hand and blasting him with a surge of power.

Jupiter flew back a few feet, before laughing chaotically again.

“Now, now, My dear, you’ve always had such a bad temper. I can’t wait to dominate you once again, and remind you of just how pathetic you really are.”

The intensity of the power that’s was building up in my body, would be sure to destroy everything around it. I could feel the Goddess rage, anger, hatred, and all other distraught emotions towards Jupiter, come to the forefront of my mind.

‘I am not the same innocent girl, I use to be Jupiter.’

I could only watch as the power that was building up in me, shot out of my body, I could feel it coming out of every pore. The power wasn’t aimed at Jupiter though, It was aimed at the entirety of the meadow that the magical barrier protected. I watched as it came down like rain, destroying everything it hit. When it touched Jupiter’s skin, it looked like acid was eating away at his skin.

“Finally,” Jupiter cackled, while his skin melted away. “ The true power of the Goddess is being shown, this is a battle that I am going to enjoy.”

As his skin melted away, I saw Jupiter’s true form. He was shaped like a human, but his soul was pure darkness. Much like the darkness that had trapped me earlier that day.

I watched as he walked towards us. His sticky, black, tar like substance, leaving footprints on the forest floor. He radiated pure evil. Still I held my ground, not showing him an ounce of fear. I had battled him before, and I wasn’t afraid of him anymore.

As he reached us, his hand wrapped around my throat, lifting me into the air.

“Do you think you’ve won already? You’ll never win. You’re weak. You’re pathetic. No one wants you. The only power you have was given to you by your parents, Luna. The only man you ever loved, fell in love with another, forgetting that you ever existed. And for the pathetic human, you’ve given your soul to. She’s also nothing. I’ve been inside her too. She’s a shell. Growing up she had nothing. The pack despised her. She grew up in the shadows of my darkness. The only power she ever had was the power bestowed upon her by you, and her mate. Without you she would be worthless. Just an empty shell.”

“ I am not afraid of you Jupiter.” I said aloud, this time in my own voice. “ I may not have the power of a God, by myself, but I have another power, that I destroyed you with all on my own. I have a power much stronger than one you’ll ever been able to weld. I have the power of friendship, the power of family, the power of love. That is something more power than anything you could master. With this power Jupiter, I will defeat you.”

I reached my arms down, grasping his forearms as he tried to strangle me, and a bright white light ejected out of my hands, burning through his darkness.

Jupiter didn’t laugh this time. He screamed in agony as my hands continued to burn him. He dropped me to the ground, and tried to disappear again, but I wasn’t letting him out of my sight. His time had come to an end.

“You can try to disappear, but you’ll never leave this magic barrier Jupiter. Your time is over. You’ve come to the end of your line.”

I could see fear flash in Jupiters eyes, I watched as his own power tried to use his fear as a source of nutrition. He was feeding off himself.

I let out a laugh, not one of cheer, but one filled with menace and hatred.

“You’re pathetic Jupiter.” I voiced in disgust, as I sent my pure white energy towards him destroying him entirely.

I watched as all the darkness into the forest, disappeared, my light shining brightly, The moon goddess’s magic barrier lifted, when Jupiter died, and I could see Leo rushing towards me. His black fur was matted with blood, but other than that he looked fine. Good, I don’t know what I would do if I lost both of my mates in one day. My heart saddened at the thought of Vladimir, I had been so distracted with the battle that I hadn’t began to grieve the loss of him and Sierra.

Tears started to stream down my face, as I thought of all the wolves and vampires we had loss over the war against Jupiter. So many innocences were taken to destroy evil.

“ Guinevere,” Damien said, grabbing my face with his hands, having shifted from his wolf form, but into his human form. “Don’t you ever scare me like that again.” He whispered as he pressed his forehead against mine.

“Im sorry,” i whispered through the tears, “ I just couldn’t bare to lose anyone else.”

“It is our sworn duty to protect Our Luna Queen.” Damien replied.

“And it is my duty to protect my pack.” I responded wiping the tears away. “ I failed Vladimir, and I failed the other wolves and vampires that lost their lives over the course of the battle. I couldn’t allow myself to fail anymore.”

“Mi Amor.” A familiar voice said from directly behind me. “ You could never fail me my Queen.”
