The Final Battle
***Damien***
If I hadn’t had seen it happen with my own eyes, I never would have thought it was possible.
Just as the wolves and I were making our way towards Jupiter’s camp, I spotted Guinevere, what worried me most was the scene that was unfolding right in front of her.
Jupiter was sucking the soul from Vladimir. I knew that if I tried to stop him I wouldn’t reach him in time, and instead I’d end up giving away Guinevere’s position.
Watching Vladimir die wasn’t what shocked me though, I hadn’t expected the Vampire King to fall today, but everyone dies eventually. What really shocked me was how Guinevere’s body reacted. When Vladimir’s lifeless corpse hit the Forest floor, Guinevere’s entire body lit up in vibrant shades of gold and purple. She started to run towards Jupiter, but as she was running, a part of her stood still, that part slowly shaped into a woman, if I had know better I’d have assumed that Guinevere had a twin sister, but this woman looked more godlike, her long black hair, braided gently down her back, her lilac gown draped elegantly over her curves, she screamed of desire. And her eyes were a bright lavender color, the only time I’d seen Guinevere’s eye change to purple is when her succubus spirit Sierra took over. This woman, must be Sierra.
As Guinevere charged towards Jupiter, Sierra raced towards Vladimir’s body like her life depended out. She was beside Vladimir in a matter of seconds. The Forest was soon filed with her cries of anguish as she held Jupiter’s lifeless body against hers.
“You can’t leave me. I only just found you. I’m not letting you go.” She weeped.
Time seemed to freeze as Sierra wept, As she continued to hold Vladimir, the Forest floor surrounding them started coming to life. There was flower sprouting off the floor and the grass was a healthy vibrant green. Whatever power Sierra was unleashing in her grief was causing everything around her to come to life. Her entire body started to glow brightly and then Sierra started to chant an incantation in a language that was long dead to society.
“cum duae flammae coniunguntur, unum fiunt. una flamma, quae clarior et acrior ardet duabus flammis separatur.” (when two flames unite they become one. one flame that burns brighter and fiercer than the two seperate flames). Sierra chanted while grabbing a rock from the Forest floor and slashing it against her wrist, her blood shimmered against her pale skin.
She grabbed Vladimir’s face, and shoved her arm against his mouth, letting her blood flow freely into him; while continuing her incantation.
“ardeat amor lucida, cor urat fortius, vive ambobus. animam meam do tibi.” (burn bright my love, burn stronger my heart, live for the both of us. I give my life to you.)
As soon as Sierra finished her incantation, the bright light surrounding her vanished, the green grass and the beautiful flowers withered away, and Sierra fell on top of Vladimir as if she was using her body to shield him.
Before I could grasp onto what happened, the world started moving again, and Guinevere let another yell of pain.
Her body was splitting again, I knew this time Sabrina would be making her appearance.
I was both excited and nervous to see Sabrina’s spirit. She was the daughter of our moon goddess, the first original werewolf, and my mate. I could feel Leo pacing back and forth in my mind in anticipation.
He wanted to run Gwynn and help ease her pain, but I felt it would be best if we stayed towards the outer brush in case anymore of Jupiter’s dead army decided to make an appearance. I didn’t want anyone to get the jump on us.
‘Damien, are you seeing this?’ Alex linked me, astonishment in his voice.
Guinevere’s entire body yes I’m had been lifted into the air. And I could see Sabrina in wolf form shifting out of Guinevere’s chest. All the while a majestic aurora was swirling Around Guinevere, the mist entering where Sabrina was exiting.
‘It’s the moon goddess.’ Leo whispered in awe through the mind link. ‘ I can feel her presence. She’s entering into Guinevere.’
My heartbeat increased, and my breathing accelerated. The moon goddess was entering Guinevere’s body. Without Sabrina and Sierra inside her, Guinevere was essentially a human. Could her body host a Goddess or would the Goddess’s need to destroy Jupiter, hinge her humanitarian side.
‘Guinevere is strong.’ Came Alex’s voice of reassurance through the mind link. ‘She will survive this. ‘
‘She better.’ I growled.
I had been paying such close attention to Guinevere and what was happening to her that I didn’t notice the army of undead approaching from behind, until a Wolf lunched his fangs into my arm, tearing into the tissue.
