Chapter 55: The Final Battle Part II
When Sierra separated from my body it was one of the most painful experiences I had ever encountered. But I didn’t have time to feel pain, I needed to get to Jupiter. I needed to destroy him so Vladimir didn’t die in vain.
‘Guinevere, something’s wrong,’ Sabrina said, her voice laced with worry.
‘What’s wrong?’ I asked my Wolf,’ using her concern to distract me from my pain.
‘I’m not sure, but I feel weird. Like something big is getting ready to happen.’
‘Maybe, the feeling is from Sierra leaving.’ I grunted out, as I pushed forward closer to Jupiter.
‘No, I don’t think thats it. It feels like something more.’
Sabrina didn’t get a chance to explain the feeling further. Before I knew it, my body was thrown into the air, and my chest felt like it was exploding. I was paralyzed by the pain, as I watched Sabrina get expelled from my chest.
She let out a massive howl, that radiated with power.
“Sabrina,” I cried out, trying to reach my arm out towards her, my eyes filled with unshed tears.
“Don’t cry Child.” Came a familiar voice towards my left.
I turned my head from Sabrina and saw a beautiful shimmery dust funnel approaching me.
No. It couldn’t be… Could it?
“Moon Goddess,” I called out to the shimmer. “Is that you?”
“You didn’t think I’d let you have all the fun, did you?” The shimmer chuckled at me.
“How is this possible?” I asked, “How are you here?”
“ I’ve decided to give away my powers as Goddess. I’ve decided to give them to a woman who has shown strength, courage, kindness, and devotion to all, to someone who I think is fit to be the next Goddess.”
She couldn’t be talking about me, Could she?
“That is, if you’re willing to accept me Guinevere.”
“Are you sure about this Goddess? Are you certain that I am capable of your powers?”
“I’ve never been more sure of anything.” She respond.
“Ok,” I nodded, “I accept.”
“Good. I was hoping you would. I also have a gift to bestow on you, Ive been keeping the gift safe until the battle is over. Once we defeat Jupiter, my gift will be come unbunduntly clear.”
“Okay, well lets get this over with then.”
The shimmer drifted closer to me, until my body was surrounded by it. I could fill it soaking into my skin, my body absorbing it. All the pain I felt instantly disappeared. The darkness I had grown use to disappeared. I felt at peace, I felt ready to conqueror anything in my path. Is this what Death feels like?
‘No Guinevere,’ came the moon goddess angelic voice, this time within my own mine. ‘You’re very much alive still. What you feel right now, is the power of Goodness. With enough good in the world, we can defeat all the darkness.’
‘I know one piece of darkness that I’ve been wanting to destroy for awhile now, what do you say goddess, Shall we kick his ass?’
‘With pleasure.” The Goddess responded.
At that exact moment, Sabrina let out another thunderous howl and I was surprised I could still understand her.
“Back the fuck away from my mate.”
I glanced down towards the forest floor, and I noticed Damien and the others were surrounded by an Army of the Undead, this Army looking stronger that any I’d ever seen.
“Damien,” I cried, as an undead wolf, launched towards him, sinking his teeth, into Damien’s arm, tearing into his flesh, dragging him towards his undead Army.
I went to move towards him, but Sabrina turned and snapped at me.
“No Gwynn, You go after Jupiter, I’ll help Damien and Leo.”
“But…” I started to object, but Sabrina interrupted me.
“The quicker Jupiter is defeated, the sooner his army will disappear. Without Jupiter’s power, this army is just decayed flesh and bones. Leo is my mate Guinevere. I wont let anything happen to him.”
I swallowed down the worry for my mate, that was beginning to build in my throat. Sabrina had a point, and she was right, Leo was a part of Damien, and he and Sabrina were destined mates. If I trusted anyone to protect Damien, it was Sabrina.
“Okay,” i nodded in agreement. “Let’s end this.”
