Chapter 16

Sandra's POV

"Andriel, where are you taking me?Are you going to enlighten me for a second?" I asked, looking around the area. We were already out of the mansion and it looked like we walked through the back door and set foot in the forest. His action puzzled me while this man didn't want to disclose anything yet.

The greenery blinded the area and it was all silent. I didn't know that the back side of the mansion is connected to an endless forest. From the front it could not be seen any traces of forest but looking at the place ahead of me it felt more surreal.

No matter how much I tried to know he didn't reply but kept walking. He stopped when we were in a certain place in the forest. It was not a deep area but yes, we are a little far from the mansion. I gulped down hardly looking around. Suddenly a feeling of fear crawled in my heart.

What does he mean by this? Taking me here, in this forest? Don't tell me there's some dark fantasy around it. He is kind of that sadistic villain in the story?

"Wh-why are we here?" My voice echoed around breaking the extreme silence playing in nature. Don't tell me there's some ulterior motive behind doing such things.

He let go of my hand and turned around to face me. His expression was serious and he was looking at me with those deep eyes of his. There's something which I couldn't figure out clearly. Did I do something that pissed him off?

"Are you scared?" He asked.

I felt my fear becoming deep. I swallowed my own saliva before replying "of course not. Why are you asking that?"

I am scared to the core. I could feel my hands shaking but I refused to show it on the surface. Adding the fact of this area being around us including his expression makes the atmosphere heavier than its normal range.

He nodded "good, I want to show you something" he walked closer and held my hands "really serious. And for that I need you to relax, okay?"

"Are you going to kill me?" I gulped down hard.

He frowned suddenly "what?"

I shook my head "you are sounding like a serial killer. Like those in the books"

The corner of his lips twitched then he chuckled "and you said you are not afraid" amusement playing in the depth of his eyes. I couldn't help it. I wanted to say but I held myself back. His mysterious behavior is already stabbing me with fear.

I straightened my back "of course I am not scared. It's just the way you are talking, it's giving me some weird vibes" god please stop my shaking body.

"Don't worry, I am not going to do something like that. Rather, I will never do anything to harm you nor will I let anyone harm you" he smiled. His handsome face bloomed adding more charm in it.

My heart jolted suddenly. Just like Alessia told me. Oh god, I should not be affected by his words. But hell it's really affecting. I seriously need to do something about it. I can't let him affect me so much.

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked again.

"There's something I need you to understand which is very important for both of us. I know it might scare you but I couldn't hide it from you all the time. Since you are going to stay with me, whether it's needed or not you have the right to know the secrets. But before that can you promise me something?"

"Promise you what?" I couldn't help but frown. Why does he sound so different today?

"Promise me that you won't run. No matter what, just remember that I will never hurt you" he reminded me again.

"Are you going to show me something that freaks me out?"

He chuckled "something like that. Though there's no need to get scared, I believe it's your first time so...."

"Don't scare me already " I pushed him away from him. "It's already creepy here"

"Okay, I am sorry" he rubbed his nose "you look cute like that"

I tried hard not to blush. This man had a sweet tongue that will torture you to keep that freaking blush out of your face.

"I hope you can try to understand me. Besides, even if you want to run, you can't." He gave me a smirk which annoyed me to hell.

"Stop giving me suspense already" I rolled my eyes. Here I am getting scared and he is playing with me?

"Okay, but you need to remember your promise, no running away" he smiled and moved back. He went a little further but never broke eye contact with me. He removed his shirt and threw it on the ground giving me a perfect look of his body. I frowned at his act.

What is he doing? Why is he undressing himself?

I was about to open my mouth to ask when I saw his body start to glow. His expression turned hard and his body started to change its shape. A weird sound echoed around and my eyes almost popped out. My knees wobbled and I fell on the ground on my butt.

What's happening?

In front of my eyes, a perfectly healthy man suddenly shifted his features and my eyes widened as wide as possible when the man I knew jumped in the thin air shifting into an animal form glaring down with his silver eyes. No it can't be Andriel, how can a man turn into a beast. It's just an illusion, yes it's just an illusion. But I have never seen such a huge dog in my life. So big and huge, his red fur were dancing as the wind blew past him. His deep silver eyes and those sharp ears . His tails wiggled behind him side to side. My heart almost jumped out of my chest. The dog moved its paw and slowly started to advance towards me.

Oh god it's coming towards me. My heart beat raced and I shook my head as I dragged my body backward. My legs already gave up their energy and it seems like I can't even run anymore. The hair in my body stood up in fear. What have I gotten myself into?

"Don't come near me" I whispered "go away". I really wanted to shout but my voice lowered due to fear.

But it does not have any heed to my words. Once it was closer I tried to get up but couldn't. Where is Andriel? How can he leave me like that with this giant dog? That cruel man. I will scold him to death once I find him.

"Don't come closer. I am warning you" I said as I dragged my body further away from him. It stopped once it reached near me. God, from a closer view its body is so huge. I felt like His head was twice my size. Suddenly it dipped its head down. I closed my eyes in fear. I imagined myself being eaten by this beast but I felt nothing. No pain, nothing. But something cool and slightly wet poked my cheek. I peeked through one eye and found the dog poking my cheek with its nose. I couldn't help but giggled when it poked my neck.

"Ah...stop it..." I tried to push away its nose "you are tickling me" I cried out.

It stopped and stuck out its tongue before licking my face. Eww....

"Stop, stop" I tried to move but before I could it pressed my body on the ground. My back was lying flat as I looked at it with wide eyes. Its silver eyes made a hole in my body with its piercing gaze. I should be scared to death, but now, the fear I felt a few minutes ago is gone. I don't know why but I don't feel any danger from him anymore.

He feels so familiar.
