Chapter 35
Sandra's POV
I looked at the woman wearing a light pink dress. Her fair skin was glowing with her light smile. She has a beautiful facial feature like she came out of any modeling era. She is truly beautiful, I really can't explain in words. I have seen many beautiful women, on tv, magazines or in web series but she is more beautiful than them.
"Andriel you are really here" she grinned widely showing her perfect white teeth.
"Lysithea" Andriel said beside me and got up from the couch before walking towards her.
"Oh, god, you are finally here" that woman named Lysithea suddenly jumped on him, making me gasp. My eyes glued on them as they hugged. They are too close. The inner lady of mine jumped in screaming. Why the hell are they hugging so close? Can't they just shake hands or something? My mind was screaming yet I couldn't be loud in reality.
I really don't like their act. I don't know why but my anger started to bubble suddenly trying to explode at any moment. My jaw clenched and my fingers curled into a tight fist. Suddenly I felt a warm hand grab my fist and I turned to look at Luna who was smiling.
"They are childhood friends. You don't have to worry about it. She is Lysithea, shortly Thea, the daughter of Julius's friend Franklin. They grew up together because of the family friendship from years" she explained lightly before looking forward "okay both of you, you two are not kids now" she interjected.
Andriel broke the hug and made some distance for my liking while Lysithea turned to look at me. Her smile was wide and glowing.
"Oh, is she the one?" She asked "I heard about you finding your destined mate. And wow, she has blue hair" she said like I am a kind of decoration brought to place for attention.
"Yes," Andriel nodded and walked back, sitting beside me. "Meet, she is my mate Sandra," he said, throwing his arm over my shoulder. I glared at him before shaking it off.
"Ah yes, you have a beautiful name Sandra and you are really unique" she smiled. But I really don't know why I felt the smile directed towards me is not genuine at all. It was like being forced to act and play. My heart gave a jump and suddenly my inner lady alerted me again. She is dangerous.
"Thank you, you are beautiful too," I said with a half smile.
"Thanks, I am Lysithea, Andriel's Childhood Friend" she gave much pressure on the last two words, like she is trying to remind me of something. "We almost grew up together and known each other well"
"Of course I can see that" I nodded while fighting with myself hard not to roll my eyes at her. For god's sake, it's my first day in this pack.
"Really?" She laughed.
"Dear, you must be tired. You should take a rest for a while before dinner" Luna said, looking at me.
"It would be great, thank you" I smiled.
"Come on Sandra, I will take you to your room" Alessia offered.
I was about to reply when another one cut in middle "no need"
I turned to look at Andriel with a glare. What does he think of himself? Now acting like a caretaker? I turned my gaze to Alessia "thanks I would like that, let's go"
Just as I was about to get up he held my wrist "what's that?" He whispered.
"Aren't you busy with your childhood friend? There must be things you want to catch up with her isn't it? I shouldn't bother you with my trivial matters. Alessia can just help me out, thank you" I gave him a tight smile and freed my hand from his clutch before getting up.
He frowned and about to say something when his father interrupt "Andriel come with me, we need to talk"
"Yes, dad," he nodded.
Alessia chuckled and hold my arm "let's go, looks like someone is getting cold shoulder"
I snorted before following her lead to the upstairs. This man, if he thinks he can do anything and I will be happy with that, then he has to see what I am. Humph.
Andriel's POV
I gazed at the woman going upstairs who didn't even glanced back. What happened to her? She was nervous when we arrived here but now she is behaving like she doesn't care at all. What's that?
"Andriel what happened? Are you okay?" I heard Lysithea's tone near me. She was looking at me with a worried face.
"I am fine" I shook my head.
"You look like you are thinking too hard" she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I am fine Lysithea" I removed her hand "we shouldn't be too close like this. Next time don't jump on me like that. I don't like it"
She looked hurt "Andriel, I am sorry. I really don't mean to upset you. It's just we have been friends and free to each other so I forgot you have your mate now. Don't worry, I will remember it next time"
"Look Lysithea, I know we are friends. Of course I like you. It's not only about my mate but also time, and now it is different. We have grown up and there are some things we need to be concerned about. I hope you can understand me"
"Okay, I get what you are saying" she nodded "I am sorry if I embarrassed you with my behavior"
I smiled "it's nothing, don't worry. I have to go now" I nodded and got up. I looked at mom who gave a nod. I walk towards dad's study.
Dad was sitting on the side chair near the window as I walked inside. He had a serious look on his face. I frowned slightly and walked towards him before sitting down.
"Dad, what happened?"
He looked at me "Andriel, have you investigated Sandra's background?"
"No," I shook my head. "I did actually but it's simple information. I mean she lives with her mother in a flat. Her father is not known at all"
"That's not what I want to hear," dad replied.
"What do you mean by that dad?"
"Andriel, this thing may be weird but I think Sandra's identity is not as easy as you think. There are more which is hidden deeply, away from our reach"
"Hidden? Dad, do you doubt her?" I asked.
"What?" His eyes widened "no, don't misunderstand my words. What I want to say is her identity is not simple, may be she don't even know about it herself "
I nodded and pondered for a while "dad, do you think she is not human?"
"Maybe or maybe not," he shook his head. "I am not sure right now. When you said about your mate being a human I never thought she will turned to be like this"
"What confusion do you have dad?" I asked.
"The blue hair"
I frowned "blue hair? What about that?"
He sighed "do you know years ago there was a pack which was destroyed severely. But that pack was not a simple one. They had a kind of identity, and I guess the known identity they had is the blue hair. I doubt that Sandra's hair was natural. But when she confirmed with your mother's question I had the doubt that she might-"
"Belong to that pack?" I asked.
He nodded "but I don't know how true it can be. For now it's just a doubt. We need a good proof to confirm it"
"Dad, if Sandra belongs to that pack then do you think that she is not human at all. Could she be like us?"
"Maybe," he nodded again, "but you need to make sure things stay between us. The matter of that destroyed pack is sensitive, if this goes beyond us then it could also call for unprepared dangers"
I nodded "don't worry that, this things will stay between us"
"Good, now that your mate is here, take her outside to look around the pack. She needed to understand her surroundings too so that she can be comfortable with us"
"Yes, I will take her to round the area tomorrow"
"Your mother was worried at first but then she calmed down and accepted Sandra. But if your mate is really belong to that pack then I think she is far more better than anyone including Lysithea"
Lysithea belongs to Black Heart Pack. It was considered that she was the strongest female wolf in the clan and no one else could beat her in a fight. She has beauty and strength which is the reliability of making a strong Luna. But unfortunately, a deviation stated that she was destined to be mateless. Moon goddess has given her everything except her mate, it was an unfortunate thing for Black Heart Pack.
"I never gave a thought about her blue hair even though it seemed to be weird but now..." I shook my head. "I needed to be more cautious now"
Dad patted on my shoulder "Andriel I know you can handle everything but the matter of mate is something you need to handle with care. Do you understand what I am saying?"
I looked at him "yes dad don't worry"
"Good," he nodded, "I know my son can do it. Besides, I really don't want to lose my daughter in law" he laughed.
I smiled "I will keep her safe dad, whether she is a human or not"
And it's a promise.
