Sandra's POV

I looked at the man who was currently eyeing Jarek with an arrogant look on his face. Since he is Alessia's mate, I guess Andriel is aware of the truth. But looking at him, I felt like he was really displeased to see Jarek in the house. Even the tone he used right now was cold and filled with sarcasm. From the corner of my eyes I saw Jarek stiffened uncomfortably. The tension was rising in a supercharging mood until Lysithea decided to interfere again.

Her smile was light like she couldn't see the tension in the air "Andriel why are you saying like that? I brought him here, besides we all have been known for years"

Andriel looked at her "Lysithea, I was not asking you"

This simple line hit her hard. I can see her expression being changed from carefree to embarrassment. Looks like she was not expecting him to be so harsh. Her face was red as she blinked a few times.

"I wanted to come" Jarek suddenly spoke, "Lysithea don't have anything to do with it"

"Andriel, they are our guests" Luna Maeve interrupted. Her eyes were warning him to stop. Andriel rolled his eyes and got up but not before pulling me with him.

"I have some works to do" he announced then looked at me "come love"

"Where are you taking her?" Luna Maeve frowned.

"Mom, she is my mate" Andriel replied shortly and almost dragged me with him. I gave an apologetic smile before following his lead.

Once we were out of the hall I said "that's rude you know"

He turned to look at me "why are you so concerned about her? Did I take responsibility for everyone's happiness?"

"Your mom is coming back" he suddenly said.

I broke the hug and looked at him "you know too?"

He nodded, "I was the one who planned her vacation, remember?"

I giggled "right"

"I will go to fetch her from the airport personally and bring her here in the pack house"

I frowned "we are not going back to the other mansion?"

"Currently no" he shook his head "there's lots of things to do. And that mansion is not secured anymore. I need to keep you safe and this making pack is the safest place for you and your mom"

I sensed there's something he is worried about. I cupped his face. "Is there something you are not letting me know? Andriel you can tell me everything"

He smiled "don't worry, you will know it soon. But before that I need to make sure you and your mom are in a safe place. We can discuss the other matter later when everything is settled" he dropped a kiss on my forehead.

It looks like there's much more to know. He is definitely hiding something from me. But what? He even said mom will be here, does that mean mom's life is in danger too? Whatever it is, I trust him. And I believe he won't do anything that will hurt me or mom.

I smiled with a nod "then I will be waiting for it"

"Good. I have some work to do. I will see you in the evening"

I nodded "okay"

He pecked my lips before waking away. I watched him going away until I couldn't see his silhouette anymore. I hope everything gets well.

Later I met Lysithea again. She was alone and I couldn't see anyone by her side. She walked towards me and smiled.

"You are alone Sandra?"

"Why? Are you expecting anyone with me?" I asked back.

"Of course not. But I have seen Andriel being so attached to you. I was wondering if you are with him or not. But seeing you alone like this, I guess he left you again for work?"

"What are you trying to say, Lysithea?" I frowned. "Of course he wouldn't stay with me all the time. He is the Alpha and has many works to do. How could you expect him to let go everything and stick to me like glue"

"I am glad you understand it" she replied "no matter what you are, we belong to different cultures. And I guess you will be learning the customs and other things"

Is she trying to say that I am out of the lineage? She is throwing it on my face again and again. This girl is really difficult to handle. Andriel embarrassed her earlier but she could endure it without any word then behave like nothing happened.

I smiled "of course I will. Afterall I will be the Luna sooner or later"

"We will see" she nodded and turned around leaving. I stared at her back. Was that a kind of challenge? She said we will see, like I am just fantasizing about becoming Luna. Her behavior is really strange, to the point no one can fathom what she is thinking. I have to be more cautious about this woman. No matter what.
