Chapter 31

Andriel's POV

"Alpha this is all. I have done the check up but there's no suspicious action. But yesterday night we found two rogues roaming around the territory yet they didn't enter. They looked like they were checking around" Fenriz said.

"More like checking out the weakness. There's no guarantee and I don't want any weak points for them to find out. They could be anyone, whether they are checking or roaming, it doesn't matter. What is needed for us to prepare all the time. Do you understand?" I asked him.

"Yes, Alpha. There won't be any mistakes, I will make sure of it" Fenriz replied with determination. And I trust him. He is my beta and my most trusted one. Though the army of the pack is not less, there are only a few I could put my trust in. Fenriz was one of them. He never refuses his task no matter what it is, easy or rough; he is always up for it. He would always train himself hard in the training ground. As given with his beta strength he doesn't really need to do hard training but for him he is always like those other people.

"I trust you" I gave him a blue file "send this to the main pack. Dad must want to see it"

"Okay. Anything to discuss more?" He grabbed the file.

"It's fine for now. You can go do other things. But give a call to Rhea. I want her here as soon as possible"

"Yes" he nodded and took his leave from the study. My enemies are everywhere and I can't predict where they are exactly. At first I would not care about it much because I was free but now I have my mate. She is human and even if she trains herself, her strength is not enough to fight a wolf. Humans and wolves are different. And if my enemies know my mate is human so they won't leave a chance to assault the pack and try to use her to threaten me. There's no way I am gonna let them have their heart filled and use my mate to weaken my strength. I have to protect her no matter what.

My chain of thoughts is ruined by the sudden ringing tone of my phone. The word "mom" flashed on the screen. I frowned slightly and picked it up.

"Mom?"

"Andriel, dear" mom's sweet voice rang in my ear. She is always gentle and sweet. She never raises her tone but that doesn't mean she is not difficult. Dad is harsh and rough in nature but still afraid of mom. The sweeter her words are the harder her attitude will be. Dad would do anything, he could snap at us and the pack members but infront of mom he is the most gentle man in this world.

"How are you mom?" I asked, smiling.

"I am good honey" she replied "but not happy"

"What?" I frowned.

"Your dad told me about your mate. Why are you still keeping her there?"

"Mom, I am just trying to help her adjust to the situation she is in," I sighed.

"She couldn't adjust her situation in that place, Andriel. Since you told her the truth she needs to see what's the reality of it. That mansion lacks the people to see how things work. She knows who you are but does she know how you live actually? What's your lifestyle? Listen to me dear, she needs to see the vast territory, a small action won't be able to widen her imagination and perspectives. You need to show her the real pack if you want her to become the Luna"

Mom's words are not wrong and now listening to her it made me think more. This mansion is the side house of the pack. What mom said is true, if I want her to understand the lifestyle of the pack, she needs to see it widely. And mom could guide her more to know whatever she wants. Once she accepts the situation completely there won't be any problem at all.

"You are right mom, I will bring her there soon" I replied.

"Not soon my dear, I want you to take her here this weekend for dinner. I will be waiting" and before I could say more she hung up. I looked at my phone speechless. Mom is sometimes really.... I have no words to say. It was clear that it was not a request but an order she placed for me.

I sighed loudly , and it looked like I couldn't avoid it this time. I have to take my mate to the pack house with me.

Sandra's POV

"Good morning" Alessia smiled "you look haggard" she frowned when she looked at my face.

"Do I look that bad?" I asked as I sat down on the chair.

"Nope, but you are exhausted"

I nodded "I slept late last night. It's like 2 am"

"Why were you awake that late?" She asked and placed a cup of steaming coffee in front of me.

I grabbed the hot cup with my both of hand "well I was waiting for your Alpha brother"

Alessia chuckled "and he skipped?"

I nodded "yep. He said he would come but he didn't. I was expecting his return and that made me look like this" I pointed at my face.

This time Alessia laughed loudly "you shouldn't have waited like that" she sat down across me and smiled "he works late, and sometimes he don't sleep at all"

"Really?" I frowned "he never looks exhausted like I do"

"He is the Alpha, of course his stability is higher than you, and any of us. In the pack Alpha has stronger physical strength and stability" she gave a secret smile.

"Wow" I nodded amazed by the information. "You know I still feel like it's a dream. I mean ..." I shrugged "I still can't believe I met a handsome man in the bar and ended up with him in this mansion and he actually not a human at all"

"I know how you are feeling. Everything must be strange and unbelievable right?" Alessia smiled.

"Definitely " I nodded and sipped on the coffee. It made me feel good.

"But there are things that people don't believe but may still exist. Like ghosts, god's and us. I don't know about the first two but we do exist and you have gotten the proof"

"I, of course" I laughed "even though I am still muddled with it," I smiled.

"You will get used to it, don't worry. Give yourself time to adjust the surroundings and you will be fine"

"I know," I nodded. "By the way, coffee is great. You made it?"

She smiled "yes, I like cooking" then she whispered "have your mate make something good for you. I guess he won't say no"

My eyes widened. "He can cook?" I was really surprised about it. I never knew Andriel could cook though.

"What do you think?" Alessia smirked.

"Damn, why don't I know it?" I shook my head.

"Because you never asked. Try getting to know him more, maybe you will discover something good and new" she suggested.

"You are so right," I nodded in agreement. I didn't know that handsome, bulky man could cook. It's a new thing. Damn, now that Alessia said it. It evoked my interest in knowing him more. Looks like I really need to work on this mission, 'knowing my mate'.

"Go ahead, I guess you will be surprised, " Alessia said, shrugging slightly.

"Why don't you tell me a few things about him?" I probed.

She shook her head "not gonna do that. I am out of that matter. You should try to know him by yourself, this will give both of you time and space for yourselves to know better. Experiencing everything by self will give you more benefits than hearing it from others"

I liked her suggestions "I think you are right. I am going to do this"

"Good luck. You should hurry and start from today"

"I will"

"And about the - ah brother you are here" Alessia said smiling widely. Her voice changed instantly.

I turned around to find him striding inside the dining area. Here comes the subject of her conversation looking all hot and handsome. Wait what I am doing?

"What's going on?" He asked, frowning slightly.

"Nothing, we are talking randomly, " Alessia replied.

"You look exhausted, " he turned to me ignoring his sister's reply. His gaze lingered on me observing my expression.

"She was waiting for you last night," Alessia replied before I could. "Brother I guess you should work less next time or someone will pass out from exhaustion" she added.

"Why? I told you I have work but I couldn't guarantee you about the return" he frowned at me.

"I thought you would come," I tried to smile.

He shook his head "you are not gonna do this again. Do you hear me?" His tone was low and almost whispering.

"Okay" I replied in a low tone. It's better to agree with his words. I really don't want any arguments at this moment.

"Good, now you should start packing," he nodded.

"Huh? What?" I was confused. Pack? What the hell?

"We are leaving," he replied.

"And where?"

He smiled "to the main pack house"

I looked at him shocked. What the hell? Did he just say to the main pack house? It means meeting his parents too isn't it? God, what am I going to do now?
