Chapter 41

Sandra's POV

Kayleigh and I faced each other. She looked so confident and her expression was telling me to be aware of her. She must be hostile towards me for the reason I don't know. The moment she saw me, she was giving that look of mock which was telling me I am nothing but a small ant in front of her. Though I know she is a werewolf and could defeat me easily, I am not weak as she pictured me in her mind. I may not possess the strength of a wolf but I am better than any other girl. And my mom made sure of it.

She smirked at me "Sandra, since you are not in our lineage, I will be merciful to you. Even if this is not my style of fighting. But since you are Alpha's mate, we couldn't go with the actual fighting rules. Appreciating your courage in accepting this challenge, I will give you a chance. You can still back out of this fight. I won't say anything. But if we are fighting, I won't take you lightly because you are a human. Fight means fight whether you are human or not. You need to understand this point and not blame me later" she warned.

"If I think you will be merciful during a fight, I wouldn't agree to it. I know you don't like me the moment we first met so it's obvious that you won't go easy. Besides you wouldn't have challenged for a fight if you didn't have any enmity against me" I smiled. "After all, who challenges the person whom they met for the first time for a brutal fight? I can see your intention clearly"

She was surprised "oh, you are quite clever. I must appreciate you for your smartness. But if you are really that smart you can see the reason for my actions isn't it?"

"Is it that hard to guess?" I asked "I can see it clearly even before you came into my view"

Her face changed into anger "then why are you still here? Shouldn't you just leave the pack and bless everyone to live a good life without any interruption?"

This time I smirked "if things were that simple to turn back and leave, do you think I would be standing here? or will we be having this conversation right now? There are things that you don't like but have to accept as there's no other choice. But let me tell you the reason which got you here to announce the challenge is not worthwhile. The other party may have gained benefits through your action but what about you?"

"What nonsense are you saying?" She gritted her teeth.

"Is it that hard to understand? It's not your position to question me about my place or me being here. Don't forget you are just a guest here. Do you understand my words now?"

"You are a total bitch. You are just coveting the power and want to live a luxurious life" she glared at me.

I smiled "whatever I am coveting is only mine. Where some people just covet what could never be theirs"

Her eyes changed their color as she glared hard with dark orbs. Without a word she angrily charged towards me with a fast speed. My eyes widened as I dodged in time or I would have been hit by her. It was a close call and fortunate for me, I was able to move in time. I sighed when I saw her passing me.

"You are quite fast but not more than me" Kayleigh looked back and again charged towards me. This time she was throwing her fist aiming at my face. I moved my body tilting my head avoiding her attack. My heart beat was fast as I looked at her. These werewolves are really strong. They act so fast. Now I fear if I could use my defense techniques because I don't think it will be effective on her.

"You ... How is this possible?" She groaned in annoyance. She is angry because she couldn't get me in her clutch.

I smiled "what do you think? It's not like, you are the only one who knows how to fight" I mocked which angered her more.

"What the fuck you mean?" Kayleigh growled.

"Oh this is what I mean" before she could understand my words I moved swiftly jumping up and kicked her chest making her move back a few steps. Her eyes were wide as she coughed a few times.

"You..... How can you be a bitchy human being this strong? This is not possible" she looked shocked.

"I told you, isn't it?" I smirked. I was even surprised. I did not know my kick would be that effective on her. But I am not going to show my surprise to her.

"You, I will fucking kill you today" she angrily charged towards me. I couldn't make it in time and was hit by her fist which made me fall on the ground hard.

I heard Alessia's shout behind me "Sandra......"

I held my chest and coughed. I can feel my blood rushing in my chest. I rubbed my chest and suddenly the pain I felt disappeared, making me surprised. What just happened? It felt like I have never taken any blow from her, just like nothing happened.

"Oh, are you hurt?" Kayleigh gave a small laugh. "No one could beat me, dear human. You think you are the special one? Just because you got the first advantage, do you think you can do it again and again? Aren't you a little wishful?"

Anger bubbled inside me as I looked at her. Gritting my teeth I pulled my body up and got up from the ground. What does she think of herself?

"You are so proud of yourself" I said with a glare.

"Of course, today I will prove that you are nothing but a weak ant which only knows to use a powerful hand to climb high. My sister is better in every way, but alas a weak woman like you had been chosen as Alpha's mate. Such a shame, after today's battle he will know who's better and will think wisely about his future Luna" she mocked and rushed towards me.

"Huh, you haven't seen the real power of an ant," I snapped. She threw her fist but I caught it in time. I felt my body burning in anger. "You are so gone" I pushed her forcefully and raised my foot before kicking her hard. This time I don't know how but Kayleigh's body flew away before falling down on the ground.

She coughed out a mouthful of blood and looked at it with a horrifying expression. She looked at me with the same face "how...... could you......this....." she stammered, not able to form any words clearly.

How could I answer her when I don't even know the reason myself. I used all my might in the kick. Even though I knew it wouldn't be that effective, I was guessing it would leave some impact on her. But the result was really different from the expectation.

"Sandra" I heard Alessia's call. I turned to see her running towards me. Andriel and Lysithea were behind her.

"Are you alright!" Alessia asked. I nodded at her.

"Kayleigh" Lysithea called out and went to her. She helped her get up "are you okay?"

"I....my chest is in pain" Kayleigh replied with difficulty. Her face was pale and I could see it was twisting with pain.

Lysithea looked at me with a slight frown before her expression settled normal again "I will take her to the pack doctor. She needs medical care to treat her wound"

"Have her checked thoroughly" Andriel nodded without any expression.

"Come" Lysithea took Kayleigh with her and walked away.

"Oh my god Sandra, did you really do that?" Alessia's eyes widened. "I still can't believe my own eyes. I am still in daze"

"I....." I don't know what to say right now. Even though I have learnt a few things to defend myself, what happened earlier was not what I was expecting.

"This is such great news. I need to tell mom and dad" she jumped in excitement and before I could say anything she left. I stared at her running back and sighed. This girl is really excited to share the news.

Andriel looked at me and reached out to touch my cheek "it's red. You need to check to the pack doctor too"

"Maybe because of the fall. But I am fine, don't worry" I shook my head. It doesn't hurt at all. When Kayleigh first hit me, it hurt but then the pain suddenly went away. I don't know how but I am glad.

"You are not fine, it will take time to heal if it is left untreated," he said. "Let's go, we need to go to the infirmary" he pulled me with him.

"I was not expecting you to beat her like that," he said as we walked. "Are you hiding something from me?"

I pushed my lips.

"Hmmm..." He raised his eyebrows.

I sighed "I have learnt a few moves for defense. But with Kayleigh I was just trying to protect myself from her blows" I frowned, "I never thought my attack would be this effective on her. And how it happened I don't know either"

I said truthfully. It's a kind of mystery to myself.
