Chapter 24

Sandra's POV

"Why do you have to do that? It was embarrassing, you know" I scolded him with a glare. This man is doing whatever he wants without even considering the fact how shameful it could be.

"I did what?" He asked and dragged the chair near me before sitting down. He looked carefree like it was not him who kissed me in front of his sister and friend. I don't know what I am going to do with this man. How can someone be so shameless?

"You know what you did?" I narrowed my eyes on him. "Don't give that innocent act when we both know the truth"

"Do I?" He ignored me again.

"Stop being so arrogant. Why did you kiss me in front of them?" Getting frustrated, I asked him directly.

"Do I need their permission to kiss my mate?" He shrugged like it was a common act.

I rolled my eyes. This man is really arrogant. His arrogance was higher than the height of Mount Everest. Alessia was right, he is too stubborn.

I sighed "you knew that he was just joking right? Yet you have to give him a public show?"

Andriel looked unbothered by the complaint "I know clearly what he was doing. But that bastard needs to control himself around you, even if he meant no harm. I am not going to tolerate"

"You still get jealous?" I am amused. He even got jealous of his friend?

"What my jealousy got to do with him being my friend?" He frowned "I will fucking get jealous even if a fly roam around you"

At this moment I got to know what it feels like to have your jaw dropped on the floor. Is this man even real? I thought he was jealous of other men around me but will he get jealous even with a fly? It's impossible for him to exist in this world.

I shook my head "are you serious?"

"I am always serious when it's about you sweetheart. You can try me if you still doubt it" he looked at me seriously.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I moved back.

"Like what?" He asked, leaning forward. Oh no, Not good, he is upto something again.

"Like you want to eat me?" I frowned at my own words. Did I really say that?

He smirked "because I want to. Will you let me?"

My eyes widened. What the hell? He replied so smoothly like it was a casual thing he was asking. I pursed my lips, "oh my god, you are so….." I gritted my teeth.

"Shameless?" He raised an eyebrow. Then he suddenly stood up. What now?

"What are you doing?"

"I am about to show you what shameless really means" he hoists me up in his arms.

"Ahhhh...." I squealed loudly. "Put me down, are you insane?" I threw my legs in the air.

"Stop struggling, you are not getting away sweetheart" he warned and started to walk towards the house. I know what's going to happen next yet I couldn't stop him.

Sighing I hooked my arms around his neck "you sent mum to France?"

"Hmmm...." He didn't refuse. I knew it's his doing.

"Why?"

"She was alone. Besides she needs a little enjoyment"

"That must cost you a lots of money"

I know going to France and taking a vacation in a scheduled place is not easy. Even booking the airline costs too much, let alone staying there for a long time. I never thought he would fulfill mum's dream that she was dreaming for long.

"Does money have any importance? Besides I didn't do it all for her but for myself too" he replied.

"What does that mean?" I frowned.

"She doesn't know you are with me, so I had to give her some time to enjoy so that I can have all your attention. All for me. If she stays here she would be worried but since she is enjoying it she will think less of you. Isn't it a double benefit from my side?" He smiled looking at me.

I pursed my lips. This man really knows how to ruin a mood. He is showing me his selfish side. But why do I suddenly find it amusing?

"Won't she still get worried about me? I haven't seen her before she left" I said, pouting my lips.

He chuckled "from her point of view you are in a camp project. So why should she be worried? I can't let her do that. Can I?"

I stared at him with an open mouth. This man is really something. No one can predict what he is thinking. He took everything under his control so accurately that it's almost impossible to find any faults.

"You ...you are shrewd"

He laughed "that I am and now should we start playing?" He smirked.

I turned to see we already reached the bedroom. And I know once this door closes I am not gonna be able to take a breath.

Sigh, what a life!

Later in the evening Alessia gave me my phone and I was grinning. Immediately I gave a call to mom who picked up the first ring.

"Mom"

"Hi honey, how are you doing?" I heard mom's merry tone on the other line. There's some noises in the background like laughing and talking.

"I am good, what are you doing mom?"

"I am enjoying it," mom giggled like a teenager. Hearing her so happy I couldn't help but smile too.

"Um.. enjoying where?"

"You won't believe what happened. I never thought I would get this opportunity " mom squealed.

"Oh, looks like you got something really big?"

"Guess what?"

"What?" I smiled. Even though I know what she is about to say, I really want her to tell me to reveal the surprise.

"The company rewarded me for a hard project. Can you believe it? I never thought the long term project would have such reward. Our team got a surprise trip to France. I was so happy. I wanted to tell you but you were at university. After that we had to hurry and pack our things because we had to take the early flight from the offer"

"Oh my gosh, you really hit the jackpot mom. I am sorry I couldn't return home because of the sudden camp trip" I lied but I have no regrets.

"I know, I got a call from the University. I wish you would be here then we could enjoy the vacation together"

"Come on mom, it's a rare chance. You need to take care of yourself and enjoy the trip with your friends" I assured her "besides I have studies to complete here"

"Will you be fine there? I mean you are all alone" mom sounded worried.

"I am good. I am still on a trip for project work so no I am not alone and you can be assured about it. I was missing you so I had to call you"

"I was thinking to give you a call earlier but your phone was out of signal"

"Um...maybe because of the distance. It's sometimes hard to get the network" I told her. Sorry mom, I wish I could tell you the truth. But I don't want her to get scared or worried about me. She won't be able to enjoy the trip.

"It's fine, since I have talked to you I am assured now. Anyways let me tell you about this trip. Gosh, I can't explain it with words. Did you know we traveled around the beautiful places of France? The scenery, food and people are so good here. Sénanque Abbey is such a beautiful place. When I first saw it I felt like I had entered into a purple world" she laughed.

"Did you like the place?" I smiled. At least she is so happy. I never found her this happy before. At least not after dad died.

"Of course, who could ignore such beauty of nature? I enjoyed swimming in Lac D’Annecy. Dear if there's a chance you should come and enjoy this beautiful place. And not to mention the traditional French Alpine meal. Everything is so perfect " she sighed.

"I am glad you are enjoying it there. How long is it to return?"

"I don't know exactly. I mean there's no mention of returning date"

I frowned "no returning date?"

"Yeah, I have tried to ask the manager but he didn't pick up his phone. I guess he will contact me himself till then I can just enjoy the time"

"So what's your next destination?"

"We will be visiting Gardens of Marqueyssac then will head to Paris"

"Wow, everything is well planned I guess"

Mom laughed "I too think so. Anyways, I think after this trip, it will be our time to return back"

"Yeah, hope so," I replied, pursing my lips. He is spending so much money. I never expected that it's not only my mom but her friends too. He is providing for them to enjoy it. What is this man thinking? He knew mom won't fall for this trick so he used her friends to make her believe there is really some lottery.

"Okay honey, I will hang up now. Dune Du Pilat is really great. My friends are calling"

"Okay mom, enjoy yourself. Love you"

"Love you sweetheart" then she hung up. I stared at the phone then sighed. It still feels like a dream. Never imagined that there will be a day like today.
