Chapter 69

Sandra's POV


"This is beautiful" I looked around the mansion. I couldn't believe I am here, at my birth place. Thinking about it, my eyes are moistened suddenly. I felt Conor touch my cheek. I smiled at him. My baby, does he know his momma is sad?

"You look emotional my dear" mom said.

"I can't help it" I chuckled. "This place, though I have no memory of it, felt like I was connected to it. I never imagined something like this will happen"

"It's a bond which you have with this place" mom smiled, "I have spent my whole pregnancy, walking around, talking to you and even telling you the sceneries. There are so many memories I built when you were in my womb. And all those memories connected you with this place"

I nodded, "I guess you are right mom. This place feels familiar"

"Your mate tried hard to give the exact look of the previous Red Ice Pack" dad said from behind. He was pulling out the luggages from the car. "And I must say, he really did a good job"

"He did?" I was surprised. He never told me about it. But I knew he would go to the construction side now and then. I shook my head. That man, he hid it so well.

"Of course" mom nodded, "I have seen how much he worked hard. He even asked your dad many things which could resemble the previous pack style. He personally guided the people working there. He put in so much efforts" she shook her head.

"I never knew about it. He never said a word" I replied.

"It's because he said he wanted to surprise you," mom smiled, "I was curious about it and asked him once. Do you know what he replied? He said this place is what gave him the happiness of his life. So he wanted to bring back the glory as it was before, so that the it will remind of your bond with this place"

I was so surprised that I couldn't say a word. Andriel, how come I have become this lucky to have you as my mate. He always knows how to make me fall in love with him again and again.

"I knew my brother is too good" Alessia sighed, "Sandra I must say when it comes to you, my brother would go to any extent"

"That's right" mom nodded, "who would have thought that the great Alpha of the pack would go for such a mindset? Oh how lucky I feel myself to have him as my son in law. We couldn't ask for more now" mom said tearfully.

"Okay, no more crying now. Let's go inside. Sandra must be tired" dad said and mom chuckled.

"Of course, let's go. You two take a shower first and I set your meals" mom nodded.

"Ay, I was hungry after the long journey. Thanks aunt" Alessia grinned.

"You are always up for eating"

"Because I am made for it" she replied, making me laugh. As we walked inside Alessia suddenly stopped and looked behind.

"What happened?" I frowned.

"Nothing, I felt like someone was watching me," she shook her head.

"What? May be it's just overthinking"

"Yeah, maybe. Let's go" she nodded and we headed inside.



Alessia's POV

"Red Ice is really beautiful. The design and decoration is just perfect"

Sandra smiled, "that's what I said earlier. This is my first time visiting here yet I felt like I have been here for years already. It's feel like home, too welcoming"

"If my brother hears it, I guess his chest will be full with pride. He couldn't even pass the door because of it"

Sandra laughed, "Are you criticizing your own brother?"

"You can say that" I nodded, "at least he is not gonna hear this"

"And I thought you were just praising his idea about rebuilding the pack a few moments ago" she smirked.

"That too but I am insulting him more than I could praise him" I rolled my eyes.

Sandra shook her head "it has been years yet you are still like this. When are you going to adjust him?"

"Maybe never" I shrugged, "he is too proud. I sometimes hate his attitude. Oh my god I can't even explain in words''

"You need to chill a little" she tilted her head "why don't you-" her phone rang making her stop in the middle. I grabbed an apple and bit it.

"Hello.. umm.... yes I just ate. Of course" she laughed.

I rolled my eyes. It's my brother of course, he will definitely call her because that man couldn't stay cool without his mate. Frowning I double bite the apple.

"Wait a minute" she said and turned to look at me, "so what I was saying is, why don't you walk around the pack. It will help you refresh your mind"

"Great then. I am going out for a while" I nodded and quickly walked outside not waiting for her reply. It's just better to spend some time alone. At least I don't have to deal with those couples moments.

I walked out of the mansion. Red Ice is big but since it was destroyed once the members are not huge as ours. But I am still glad there's enough people left to survive. I can see a few houses and most of the places are empty. But it will get filled with more people soon. Among the members there are few pregnant women. Suddenly a fighting sound reached my ear. I traced the sound and walked to the side. There was a huge field where few males were practicing fighting.

I always like the training field. I moved to the side leaning on the wall and watched them training hard. Wow, I must say Red Ice is also good. Suddenly an earthly scent filled my nose. I frowned but I could feel my heartbeat was racing. Oh god what's happening to me? I couldn't understand it before. This kind of thing happened when I first shifted and found Jarek as my mate. But why am I feeling this again? I felt restless and I turned only to bump hard into something. I almost fell on my butt but a strong arm grabbed my waist and pulled me to a hard surface.

My wolf jumped inside as the man held my waist. Our chest was touching. I gasped when I looked into his eyes. His blue eyes were staring at me.

"Mate" he whispered which made my eyes wide.

My wolf growled "mate".

No, no, what's happening? How can this happen? Mate?

"No..." I shook my head and pushed him. To my surprise he let me go but his eyes were glued on me.

"What do you think you are doing?" I almost snapped.

"I don't like anyone raising their voice at me" was his reply. His voice was hard and I must say he is handsome, something more than Jarek. God, what am I thinking right now? Looks like I have become crazy now.

I stared at him. Is he....? God, what am I going to do now?

"I...... Didn't mean to shout. I was just too surprised. I hope you won't mind. I am new here so I didn't know the rules. Please forgive me" I gave a nervous smile. "I guess I should leave now" I said and turned around and about to take a step when he suddenly grabbed my wrist preventing me.

"What are you doing?" I tried to free my hand. "let me go"

"You are not going anywhere. You are my mate"

My eyes widened at his words. Is he serious?

"I don't believe in mates. Let my hand go" I glared at him.

"Since you don't believe them I will make you believe. You can even shout but let me tell you one thing, you are not going anywhere. Now let's go" he said and started to walk.

"Where are you taking me? I haven't given my consent yet. How could you do this to me?" I yelled.

"I am your mate, and I don't need other's opinions to take you with me. You better shut up for now and just walk with me"

"But I don't want to go with you. Let me clear the problem with you. Look, even if you are a mate, you are my second mate. I had a mate before" and that made him stop.

He frowned "what did you say? I am your second mate?"

Maybe he will understand now. I nodded my head.

"So what about him? He is still with you?"

"Of course not. How could you think of such a thing? I rejected him because he was a dumb. Now can you please let me go?"

"Let you go? Whether you had a mate or not it has nothing to do with me. What I know is, you are my mate and you are going with me" he started to walk again.

What the hell? I thought he would get angry or something but he is so determined. What am I going to do now? What kind of problem is it? I really don't want to have a mate. I don't even know him.

"You are really mistaken. Look, let's talk about it" I tried again.

"There's nothing to talk about," he replied, still dragging me with him.

"Why don't you understand? Do you know who I am?" I frowned.

"I am aware of your identity my love" he turned to me and smirked, "but what you need to know is you are my mate, and you will stay with me" there was something in his eyes.

My voice stuck in my throat as I looked at him. This kind of look is something I have seen in the eyes of my dad and my brother when they look at their mates.

"Stay with you?"

He nodded and stopped suddenly. He gave me his full attention as he smiled charmingly "I am Ivan, the son of beta of Red Ice"

Son of beta? I never thought coming here would give me this surprise. My mate? A second mate?

"But the others they don't -"

"I will take you to Alpha to talk about our bond. I know Red Ice is just newly constructed but I promise you, I won't let you regret being with me" he pulled me closer, "we are destined to meet and this is what the moon goddess planned. Now come with me, I need to tell my parents"

"It's too early, I mean-" my heart felt hesitation.

"It's not early, you are mine since I know we are mates. I have been waiting for you all these years and I couldn't anymore. Now let's go, I will make you happy" he gave an assuring smile. And for the first time I couldn't say no.

He took me with him and I just let him. What's going to happen to me now?
