Chapter 48

Sandra's POV

"Jarek?" I shook my head "are you serious? I mean he is your mate isn't it? And he is also Lysithea's cousin?"

"Yes," Alessia nodded.

"Oh god, I still can't believe it. Why didn't you say before that he is also related to Lysithea? This is so shocking" I shook my head.

"I didn't expect him to be here either. I thought his matter would not come up so..." Alessia replied. "I don't know why he is here this time, he never visited before"

I looked at her. She was frowning gazing at the path where he left. I sighed inwardly. I can understand what it feels like to be heart broken. Liam did the same, didn't he? He played with my feelings and my heart. He showed himself as the most sincere while was fucking another woman behind my back. Now thinking about Alessia, it made my heart ache. Poor girl, she is feeling all alone. I tapped on her shoulder.

"It's okay, don't look at him now. If he doesn't want to be with you then you can't change his mind. It's better not to think of him anymore. It would only hurt you and this won't have any effect on him"

"I know, but I don't know what to do with the mate bond. My wolf screams in pain seeing his indifference. I just..." She paused and didn't continue.

"Oh Alessia, please don't be sad" I hold her shoulder to support "I know what are you feeling right now. I know how hard it is when the person you care about doesn't return the feelings. I can understand the turmoil you are feeling inside. But you and me, we are helpless, we can't change it"

"You are right. I once thought I could find a mate who would love me. To be honest, I do feel envious of how my brother treats you, he is so caring and possessive" Alessia sighed "but I am also happy he has you, his mate unlike me"

"Please don't say that" I shook my head. "I know things may be hard at this moment but you need to remember that hard times don't stay for long. Since the moon goddess has chosen him as your mate, there must be some reason behind it. You need to believe in her"

She chuckled "it looks like, I am the human to understand the werewolves things"

I smiled "I am trying to learn things in time. I can't stay oblivious of things around me" I read many books on werewolves and their mate bonding. Though I couldn't depend on those facts completely, I can guess some of them are true.

"Thank you Sandra, you are really helpful," she smiled.

"Let's fix your mood okay" I said and she nodded. We walked towards the mansion since we were in the garden. I felt someone was watching us but when I turned around I couldn't see anyone. I frowned and led Alessia inside the mansion.

When we walked inside we again collided with the two siblings again who were sitting with Luna Maeve and chatting happily. I felt Alessia tensed beside me. I held her hand and gave a squeeze to give her silent support.

"Everything will be alright" I whispered to her. She sighed and gave a small nod.

"Ah, you two are here too? Come in, what are you doing there?" Luna Maeve said as she looked at us. Alessia and I walked towards her. Lysithea was drinking tea calmly, behaving so normal like she didn't meet us outside. This girl is really strange. I must give her credit for such good acting. She really knows how to adapt to a situation even having a good hold over her emotions. I saw Luna Maeve pour two cups of tea and I pulled Alessia with me to sit beside her.

The current situation seems awkward, more so after knowing Jarek's identity. But what surprises me more is that he kept looking at Alessia, like he wanted to say something to her. If he doesn't like her as his mate then why is he looking at her like this? His is somewhat strange, to the point it gives mixed signals which puzzled me.


Andriel's POV

"Healers pack?" Dad frowned. "You went there, when?"

I nodded "Yesterday, after the discussion. I saw Lysithea was outside the study room. She asked for a ride there, so I took the chance to visit. Even if she hadn't asked about it, I was thinking think about going in there anyway"

"Why was she there?"

"I didn't ask. Besides, I don't feel like asking and minding her business since it's not related to me. I had other important works then asking her about it"

Dad nodded "don't forget she is a smart woman. Her father raised her well enough. Besides, you know how she feels about you, don't you?"

I nodded as a reply. How could I forget it? She once expressed her feelings towards me. But I never accepted it. Simply because she was not my mate, and secondly I never had such feelings towards her. I have always avoided it, but I know she has feelings for me which is unacceptable on my part. Besides, she is mateless, decided by the moon goddess herself. Though her father checked for deviation to find a way to change it, he failed every time. There's no way to change it.

Lysithea also knows I have no feelings towards her. But she never changed her heart and I am very aware of that.

"Then you must be aware of her. Don't let your mate take notice of the rumor spread outside which could create misunderstandings in her" dad said again.

"I know dad, don't worry, I have ways to deal with this situation," I replied.

"Good, since you went to Healers pack, have you found anything?"

"I tried to look at the solution over the seal. But there's nothing written about the seal. I felt it strange"

"Nothing?" He frowned.

I shook my head "I am quite surprised. I have taken a look at every book in the library but there's nothing about the seal. It's like the seal doesn't exist at all"

"Maybe it's because it's a special technique used by them. Since there's nothing found in there, then the only one who could have the knowledge about it will be Sandra's mother. Only she could tell the truth of the seal"

"Will she be willing?"

Dad looked at me "she has to. She doesn't have to be forced to do anything if she wants her daughter to be safe. If others knows about it, surely there will be war and we have to stop it before that happens"

"Don't worry dad, it won't happen. But the current problem is Sandra doesn't know about herself. Even if I am able to protect her in every way, I still think she should know where she actually belongs. It will be more better for her"

"It's not our place to reveal it. Since her parents wanted to hide her identity there must be some reason. If anyone is going to tell her then it should be her mother. You said she is coming back?"

"Yes" I nodded.

"Then let's wait for a few more days. We still don't know the reason for her hidden identity. We should collect this information then conclude the result" dad sighed and I agreed.

"You are right, dad. I will personally go to take her mother from the airport and bring her here. I don't feel she is safe out there if she is really belong to that destroyed pack"

"Fine, let's do it with your term"

I nodded again. I am happy that my mate also belongs to the same clan. Even if she dont know about her own true self, she will soon. Then it will be easier for her to adapt to the situation she is in. It's just a matter of time when she finds her own true self. Moon goddess has given me the best choice of mate and I am glad I was chosen for her. Nothing can be better than her. When I walked out of the study I straightly walked towards the hall and found everyone was already there. My eyes narrowed when it fell into a certain someone.

"Andriel, there you are. We are having a good time. Come join us" mom said with a smile. I nodded and walked towards where my mate was sitting and took the seat beside her. Throwing my arms around her shoulder I asked.

"It's been years Jarek, I hope you are doing well?"

Jarek shifted on his seat uncomfortably and I can see it just right. He and I had a great history before after all this fellow related so closely once.

"I am fine Alpha" he nodded.

I smiled "so what's your reason for visiting my pack after such a long time? I almost forgot you exist in this world"

The happy atmosphere disappeared instantly, covered by the dark gloomy one. But my gaze never left him.
