Chapter 15
It has been three long days since that dreadful day when Jake put me under house arrest. I haven't seen anyone—not even Cathy or Sophie. I kind of missed them, and it's crazy that I also missed Jake, really badly. Maybe it's the mate pull. I’ve been stuck in my room, Googling about wolves, werewolves, and witches. I learned quite a lot, actually. I learned about mates, the bond, and that the Alpha is the leader of a pack. He has a Beta, who is second in command, and a Gamma, who is third in command. The pack also has higher-ranked wolves like the Delta, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Epsilon, and the Luna, who is the Alpha’s mate. Unfortunately, I also learned that packs have lower-ranked werewolves known as omegas. Throughout history, omegas have been mistreated and abused because of their inability to shift into a werewolf or because their wolf is premature, too small, or weak.
Right now, I looked like a caveman with my hair in a messy, huge onion bun—no makeup—wearing only a large baseball T-shirt and denim shorts. My room was filled with empty packets of chips, chocolates, sweets, and empty bottles of Coke. I had decided I wasn’t going to cook, and since Cathy and Sophie weren’t coming to keep me company, I would just eat junk food, scroll through my phone, and use my laptop. What more did I need? Luckily, I had a bathroom in my room. Everything was perfect.
I sighed loudly, lying on my stomach on the floor, flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine. To say I was bored would be an understatement. "You should apologize to mate," Nina stated in a bored tone. I rolled my eyes. "Don’t you mean *he* should apologize to me? I’m not the one at fault here," I deadpanned. I could feel her growling in my head. It was still a bit weird having a werewolf spirit, but I was getting used to it.
"It’s your fault! If only you hadn’t gone to that stupid club, this wouldn’t have happened," Nina growled. I couldn’t help but feel angry. "I don’t give a shit! Nina, he has no right to keep me locked up in here... He has no right to tell me what to do or anything else. I’m sick and tired of people trying to control me when clearly they have... NO RIGHT! I am my own person, and I’m definitely not ten years old! I can do whatever I want!" I yelled, barely able to breathe. I heard her whimper, and she didn’t reply, which was a wise decision because I was about to explode. Nina was the last thing I wanted to bombard with hurtful words.
I let out a long breath and buried my head in the magazine. Just then, I heard the door open slowly. I quickly looked up, and my eyes met an amused Cathy. I sat up straight and smiled at her, glad she was here, but I couldn’t help the disappointment in my heart. Somehow, I was hoping it was Jake.
Cathy smiled back at me, closing the door behind her. She came and sat next to me. "Sorry I didn’t come to visit you earlier. Alpha Jake kind of threatened to rip our hearts out if anyone or anything came close to you," she said with a terrified look on her face. Unbelievable. Jake was not only an idiot, but also psychotic! I shuddered at the thought. "It’s okay. I wouldn’t want my only friend here to have her heart ripped out. But how did you get in? Jake literally locked the door before he left."
She smirked. "Well, I kind of told the Alpha I had to bring you some 'lady stuff,' and when he asked, I had to show him something. So, I told—I mean, I showed him…" She pulled out a bag I hadn’t even noticed she was holding and took out a box filled with tampons and pads. We burst out laughing, and she clutched her stomach. "You should have seen his face! He turned bright red and literally threw the key in my face."

I spent the whole day with Cathy, and she even cooked me a nice homemade meal, stating I would get some sort of cancer if I kept eating junk food. She literally called it rotten food. She helped me clean my bedroom and dressed me in even shorter blue shorts and a thin red tank top, claiming it was like a hundred degrees outside—which was absurd considering how partly cloudy it was. She braided my hair into a fishtail. Cathy was really wild. I already figured that out the day I met her. She was beautiful, open, fun, and outgoing. Today I learned she was 19, liked horror movies just like me, loved cooking, partying, rock music, and couldn’t wait to meet her mate. She said that as soon as she met him, she was going to jump him—even though she was still a virgin. She wasn’t scared at all.
I laughed so much with Cathy that tears filled my eyes. We watched horror movies because Cathy claimed romantic films were too obvious, and I agreed with her. When it was time for her to leave, I was really sad, but she promised she would come again on Friday.

I really wasn’t expecting Jake to come home today, so imagine my surprise when a shirtless Jake entered my room, looking drop-dead gorgeous, even if he was all sweaty, with ripped jeans hanging loosely on his waist. His hair was messy, but the messy look suited him—honestly, how can someone look like they just survived World War III with bruises and still look like a drop-dead gorgeous model at the same time? Wait, what am I saying? This guy is a jerk, a fool, and a psychotic bastard.
"Staring is bad... but drooling is on a whole other level of weird," he said bluntly, still leaning on the door frame. I blushed furiously and looked anywhere but at him.
"What do you want?" I asked quietly, fiddling with my fingers. He walked toward the edge of the bed where I was sitting and stood right in front of me.
"What do *I* want? Right now, I want to do a lot of things to you..." he said, holding my chin up so I was looking at him. "But unfortunately, that's not the case. Someone is here to see you. He’s going to be your personal trainer."
I blushed furiously at his words. He was so blunt! How can anyone talk like that with no shame?
I let out a long breath when he released my chin. "Fine." He smirked and put his hand behind me, making me gasp. He picked something up and placed it carefully in my hand. "You should put these somewhere less revealing. I’ll be in the kitchen with your trainer." I watched him walk out, then quickly looked down at my right hand. I was beyond embarrassed and probably tomato-red by now. It was a tampon! I cried out loud in my mind. Right now, I just wanted to dig a hole and bury myself in it. Thanks to Cathy, I had to face this embarrassment all by myself.
After hiding all the tampons, which I didn’t need anyway because I’ve never used them in my life (I tried once, but it hurt like a bitch, and I decided pads were my thing), I headed to the kitchen. I heard Jake talking to someone who sounded like—no fucking way… Bryan! I walked faster, and when I reached the kitchen, I froze on the spot. "Bryan!"
I ran to him and gave him a tight bear hug. I missed him so much! I was so overjoyed I could feel tears in my eyes—tears of joy. Now, the question was, "What are you doing here?" I asked, letting go of him.
"I’m your trainer," he said, almost inaudibly.
"What?" Oh God.
