Chapter 74
I blinked once, twice, thrice as my wide eyes tried concentrating on Fatima who looked as if she was freaking out big time. Selena held my hand "what just happened? What did you see?" she asked curiously.
I shook my head, I had so much fear within me. "I need to go to him right now!" I said standing up but my legs were a bit wobbly. I looked down at Shawn "He is alive... Please take care of him" I knew he was alive because I could feel his heart beat.
Selena sighed "Your mate, what happened in there. Talk to me so maybe I can help you. Look at you... Priscilla you cannot just go there into danger in your state"
"she is right Priscilla, these babies are growing each and every second. You can feel that, at this point you cannot just jump into the face of danger" Fatima said with a frown on her face.
I had to go to Jake, he was around very bad energy and I didn't feel good about it at all. Someone had betrayed him and that someone was very close to him. I had to know who it was, my instinct was telling me this was going to be a very bad day for all of us.
"fine let's all go but we can't just leave Shawn alone" I said as Selena and Fatima put him on the couch.
Selena sighed "He won't be alone trust me, what's important is that we get rid of the threats first then we can continue from there"
"Are you sure, I don't feel good about all of this" I told her
"Don't worry, let's leave now before it is too late" She said and we were off to see Jake in a second.
It didn't take time for us to arrive, my body was so heavy as I raced towards his office with the two ladies behind me. My belly felt as if it was about to fall on the ground-I held it tight as I continued. I was surely out of breath at this point but I didn't give up... I wouldn't give up.
"slow down or you will fall" Fatima said right behind me, I knew she wanted to be able to catch me if I did trip but with this weight and me looking like a watermelon I was sure I would probably crush her.
I didn't reply her as I reached Jake's door. We all stormed in without knocking or even thinking about it. It was a shock when we all found him staring at us looking a bit annoyed.
"what the hell are you doing?" he asked folding his arms
I quickly ran towards him and gave him a big bear hug "oh my God! I am so glad you are okay" I said kissing his cheeks. He was a bit taken back by my actions but he hugged me back.
"Of course I am okay and I got your message. What made you think I am in any danger? More importantly why were you using magic in your state... do you know how dangerous that is?" he said holding my shoulders softly.
I breathed in deep, I knew by now I probably looked like a tomato."Who was in here with you before we came in... You were with someone or something very dangerous. I'm afraid that person is one of the people that betrayed you."
He laughed "you must be mistaken, You are just paranoid mate. Your hormones must be messing with your magic and you need to rest you look flustered." He said trying to lead me to the couch.
I shook my head "No listen to me please, you can even ask them. Who was in here don't run away from this" he was in denial. Whoever it was must be very close to him for him to not even want to tell me who it is. He was even making excuses not to listen to what I had to say.
"Alpha Jake just tell us the person you were with. Your mate is very capable of performing magic. The spell was successful so just let us know who was in your presence." Selena said raising her eyebrows. I'm sure she was as curious as I was.
Jake shook his head as he looked at Fatima. This made me even more wary. Who was it, why did he look like his mother had just died."My beta was here... I wasn't in any danger. Your spell is wrong"
My heart dropped, his beta... "Chris?" I said in shock. I felt like throwing up.
"That's not right, are you sure?" Fatima said with tears on the verge of coming out.
"This is a joke, there is no ways Chris betrayed me... he is like a brother to me" he said shaking his head.
Selena looked at him "where is Chris right now... can you call him. We won't hurt him just don't tell him anything"
"His on his way, I called him up. This is just a mistake" he said pacing with his arms folded. He was making me nervous... I was so confused.
Chris suddenly entered the room and we all snapped our heads in his direction. The atmosphere was so tense. "Alpha... Luna"he said greeting us with a smile. Something was off about him and Selena knew what it was as she spoke narrowing her eyes at him.
" That is not your beta," she said and we all widened our eyes in shock. Fatima took a step backwards covering my sight.
Chris or whoever this was rolled his eyes "What a disappointment, I was really hoping my cover would last a little longer" he said as his voice turned a bit more feminine and his hair started growing longer in a white shade.
"Jena, I should have known. Only you have the audacity to betray your own" Selena said with so much hate in her voice.
I was still confused, Jena was supposed to be on my side. She was supposed to train me, she was supposed to protect me! "why?" I asked her genuinely... Why would she do this...
"why... Well first of all I am not the one who betrayed their own by getting mated to a hybrid Alpha. An abomination to nature itself, I am not the one about to give birth to not one but two abominations. Did you actually think I would stand for such nonsense... Never" she said with eyes blazing with hatred.
"Two? What does she mean?" Jake asked me but I knew he knew what she meant.
I smiled at him softly feeling a bit guilty "We will talk about this later, I promise" I told him and his eyes returned to glaring at the imposter.
"where is my beta. What did you do to him because I swear if you hurt him I will..." before he could finish his statement she cut him off.
"Don't worry I haven't hurt him... Yet but if you don't hand your little mate over to me in the next two hours I wont just hurt him I will kill him" she said and before I could even blink she was gone. Disappearing into thin air.
"stupid witch!" Jake said throwing a chair onto the wall, it came crashing onto the ground.
Fatima had tears streaming down her cheeks "oh my God she is going to kill him"
I stood up "No we won't let that happen, I promise!" I said, reassuring her, and all of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen.
My legs immediately gave out, but Jake was faster. "I have got you, my Queen," he said, carrying me, but the pain was too much. I felt as if something was trying to rip my stomach open...
"They are coming. We need to get her to your doctor. I need his help with the delivery process, " Selena said, and I screamed as they rushed me to the medical area.
"No... It's too soon. This can't be happening!" I wasn't ready to have them yet. It was too soon. This was unbelievable. I knew I would give birth earlier than a normal human being, but this was absurd... This was crazy... This was sooner than the soon I had planned for!
