Chapter 66
"How much is this?" I asked the old lady selling beautiful jewellery.
She smiled at me as she held the piece up for me to see clearly. I have spent fifteen minutes exploring and I could tell that I loved Avalon so much. The people were actually nice,maybe things would have been so much better if nobody really knew what I was.
"Just four dollars and ninety nine cents."she said
I searched my my pockets for some money and grinned when I found a five dollar note. "Here,thank you" I handed her the money and she placed the golden necklace in my palm.
"Oh no,thank you!"she said with a genuine smile that made her brown eyes sparkle.
I nodded with a smile stuck on my face. The village town was so lovely with so many different people doing something to make some money. There were market places almost at every corner. My wolf was so happy being free and happy among her own kind. I could feel how content she was just watching everyone go around doing something with their lives.My stomach suddenly made a tiny sound that sounded like a whale,a sign that I needed to eat something. I could have considered waiting for a little while then returning back home but I couldn't possibly starve my unborn child.
I walked around freely ,grinning like a fool as absolutely nobody could recognize me. I saw a small restaurant and immediately the beautiful smell of french fries and chicken invaded my nose.My stomach grumbled and I walked towards the restaurant.The bell rang as I entered and a young male waiter walked towards me with a smile "Welcome to the Ocean Basket restaurant,please take a seat anywhere and take a look at our menu"he said handing me the menu.
I returned the smile "Okay,thank you"
I took a seat on an empty table in the middle of the restaurant. I already knew what I wanted to eat as my eyes ran through the menu. I waved my hand at the waiter,he didn't seem busy at all especially considering the fact that the restaurant was practically empty with only a few customers to serve. He still wore a great big smile as he reached my table,he was very good at his job. "Have you decided on what you would like to have ma'am," he said holding a small booklet and a pen
I nodded my head at him "French fries,quarter chicken and an egg salad"
He grinned "okay coming right up,would you like some refreshment while you wait?"
"Yes,uh some lemon juice please. Make it cold,"
He wrote it down "Okay ma'am"
He disappeared into some corner and returned a few seconds later with my lemon juice. "Here you go,"
I smiled at him "thank you"
He looked at me for a second as he watched me taking a sip, "It tastes amazing right?"
My smile dropped a little,the question was very unexpected "Uh yes it does"
"Oh sorry ma'am that must have sounded weird but its just that I made that juice personally. I have been wanting to apply for a job at the lemon and lime juice factory so I take the chance to mix up a few ingredients here whenever I can."he explained excitement shining in his green eyes
"Oh that is really great! Actually you know what this is really good,its sweet yet its got that lemon taste as well" I said taking another sip just to ensure that he wouldn't think I was lying or something. That would probably destroy the boys confidence in his work.
He widened his eyes "Oh thank you so much!" he said walking away with a huge smile.
I shook my head as I smiled ,the bell rang as a couple walked in. They looked at me for a second before sitting on an empty table. I lowered my head as I sipped on my juice. The boy returned with my plate and my heart rejoiced as I looked at the delicious food. "here you go ma'am"he said placing the food right in front of me.
"Thank you...what is your name?" I asked him
"Tim,call me Tim" he smiled and I nodded my head
"Thank you Tim" he walked away with a smile on his face,the boy could smile a lot and his smile was very contagious .
I sighed as I ate my food,finally! This pregnancy was making me a food addict seriously. Everything tasted a million times better. The chicken was amazing and it didn't even take me ten minutes to ravish it all. I could feel the couples eyes on me but I ignored their stares, they probably thought I was a greedy wolf but I didn't mind.It was normal for someone in my state anyways. I finished eating and ordered another glass of lemon juice. Tim brought it after just a few seconds. I drank the juice and sighed as I felt content.I stood up from my chair after leaving money for the meal on the table.
I sat back down after a wave of nausea and dizziness hit me hard. So maybe I over ate just a little bit. I took a deep breath as I tried to calm my nerves but the dizziness didn't go away. My heart rate increased as my vision went blurry but I could hear the couple talking-turns out they weren't a couple. "Okay she is down now,get the van ready" the lady said as I watched her blurry figure walking towards me.
"Oh shit it worked!" Tim said, I could picture his huge smile in my head. I tried getting up but immediately I felt hands grabbing my arms before I could fall on the floor.
"yes Tim it worked, carry her to the van now before her people suspect us or something" the lady said sternly " and tell my brother to wait for me for a second.I need to clear this place out and make sure nobody knows that we were ever here or her"
"Yes mi lady!" Tim said as he carried me bridal style easily .My vision was blurry I felt almost half blind and my legs were paralyzed. I felt a warm tear trickle down my cheek before I blacked out completely.
