Chapter 260

The dinner table was bustling with laughter and chatter as everyone dug into the delicious spread laid out before them. Lilah and  Emily were engrossed in animated conversation with some of the others, while Jack cracked jokes that had everyone in stitches. Despite the warm atmosphere, I couldn't shake the unease that gnawed at me. Sasha's words kept ringing and replaying in my head. I just didn't want to believe her it was eating me up and I could feel her watching me. She knew this was haunting me but she chose to give me my space.

My mind kept drifting back to Rita's words about dragons and their supposed queen. It felt like a weight pressing down on my chest, suffocating me with unanswered questions. I picked at my food, my appetite lost in the whirlwind of my thoughts. How could my world keep getting this insane. I watched everyone, was this all even real or were we still underwater in  deep sleep stuck in some sleeping tubes. Maybe each one of us was in their own dream and my brain decided to take me to this crazy world.

"Hey, Aria, you seem quiet tonight. Everything alright?" my mother's voice broke through my reverie, concern etched on her face. The last thing I wanted was to worry her or ruin everyone's night. If she knew what I was going through she would probably die of a heart attack.

I forced a smile on my face. "Yeah, Mom, I'm just tired from all the excitement today. It's been amazing, really."

My mother studied my face for a moment, her gaze piercing. "Alright, sweetheart. Just remember, if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you."

I nodded, grateful for my mother's understanding, but unable to shake the feeling of unease that lingered like a shadow.

As dinner wound down, I decided to  excuse myself, citing exhaustion, and retreated to my room.I layed in bed, staring up at the ceiling, but sleep eluded me. Restless and unsettled, I tossed and turned, my mind consumed by strange thoughts and visions.

Then, as if pulled into a different realm,I found myself in a dream—or was it a nightmare? Flames danced before my eyes, fierce and unyielding, as my four majestic dragons roared in defiance. I could feel their power coursing through my veins, a primal force that threatened to consume me.

In the midst of the chaos, I saw myself, standing amidst the flames, a beacon of light in the darkness. The dragons circled overhead, their scales shimmering in the moonlight, their eyes ablaze with an otherworldly fire. It's as if I could see through their eyes and I watched them try to break their chains. They called to me ,they wanted their mother and their cries sent this unexplainable pain to my heart.

With a jolt, I woke up, my heart pounding in my chest, sweat beading on my brow. It took me a moment to steady my breathing, to ground myself in the reality of my room.

Why did it feel so real? I wondered, my mind swirling with unanswered questions. I couldn't go back to sleep. I wish I had someone to teach me what this all meant . Who was I and how could I be a queen to all these people, let alone a mother to dragons and a mate to an Alpha. I got up from my large bed ,westeroz had been very generous indeed they gave us beautiful rooms.  It felt like I was a princess, and the full moon illuminated my room so well it felt majestic.

I wore my night slippers and made my way to the garden. I loved the garden it was so beautiful, especially during the full moon. Everyone was asleep, but the guards were there they did not question me or stop me from roaming around . I felt the midnight breeze blowing through my long hair ,somehow, it kept growing longer every day, which was unusual because naturally, my hair grew really slow. I stopped worrying about that. I learned that my hair growing super long and turning snow white was the least of my problems.

I sighed as I breathed in the fresh air it felt so peaceful.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" I heard a voice behind me, and immediately I was on high alert. I looked beside me as the figure stood next to me.

A tall, handsome young man with curly blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked like what I imagine a fairytale prince would look like, to be honest.

"It is," I said as I walked forward, and he followed. I really wanted to be alone right now, but I didn't want to be rude to the people here. So far, they had treated us so well. They had made this place our home.

He smiled. "For a second, I thought you looked kind of unreal under the moonlight.like an angel," he laughed to himself softly."I just had to make sure I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating."

I smiled softly .He was cute, but I understood what he meant. "The hair, right?"

He nodded. "Yes and everything else,"

I blushed he was definitely flirting with me ,he was smooth with his words too "atleast you didn't think I was a ghost, I'm fluttered... Thank you."

He laughed. "I'm not sure if ghosts are this beautiful. I did imagine they are horrific and scary to look at. You came with the water people. How are you finding it here?" he asked

"It is really nice better than being out there ,Westeroz is nice," I specified . It was lonely living in the sea, but it was so scary being on the ground . It was horrible out there so far. I had lost some of my friends, and I didn't even get the chance to mourn them because everything was happening so fast.

"I am glad you feel that way..." he said realizing he didn't get my name

"Aria," I smiled at him

He kissed the top of my hand "Arden ," he said giving me his name "nice to meet you Aria"

I nodded taking my hand back "goodnight," I said making my way back to my room I think we had talked enough. I didn't want him to get the wrong message he seemed like a gentleman but I was already destined for someone else.
