Chapter 56
"Nothing..."I was about to finish my statement but she cut me off.
"Nothing!You expected to see nothing,how expected of you-"she said with sarcasm.
I almost rolled my eyes at her petty behavior. It was obvious she wanted to start a fight," I meant I wasn't expecting Avalon to be so big. I am so used to smaller territories than this and this just makes me understand why Jake wanted this for his...I mean our people."
"Whatever,just know that the Alpha will be mated to my daughter now and that will make these people hers as well"she grinned widely,proud of her daughter's attempts to steal my man.
I laughed out loud which earned me a growl from her "There won't be any mating needed with that daughter of yours especially considering the fact that the Alpha is expecting-" before I could announce my pregnancy to everyone beta Chris quickly pushed me behind him and cleared his throat.
"Sorry to cut this short but I have to take Prisca straight to her room now,Alphas orders."he said sternly and I frowned. We weren't even done with our tour yet,ugh Jake!
Bella's mother frowned as well "expecting what? What is the Alpha expecting?"
I was about to tell her but Chris the dear beta cut me off again. I had a feeling he didn't want me to tell her I was pregnant. " That is none of your business I am afraid. Have a good day ma'am."he said dragging me with him.
Fatima and I just looked at him with raised eyebrows. "You don't want her to know do you?"Fatima said first narrowing her eyes at him.
" Alpha Jake clearly instructed every soul that knows to keep their mouths shut or pay the consequences."he said as he led us up a small hill. The territory was truly big,big would be an understatement because it was huge.
I sighed,why would Jake want to keep this a secret from his people. Wasn't this supposed to be great news-a miracle even."Why ?"I asked
"I am sure you can ask him that, we are here. This is where you will be staying. The Royals." He said with a naughty grin.
I expected to see a huge palace with big Gates and lots of guards wearing uniforms with weapons ready to kill. What I didn't expect however was a clearing with one huge old run down two storey ancient white house. It looked as if it was about to fall apart. This house was actually hidden and far from all the other cabins. "Are you talking about that thing over there. Isn't that dangerous or something?" I asked warily.
"Follow me,don't worry it is the safest place around."he started walking and we looked at each other. I held Fatima's hand and we followed him.
As soon we reached two huge double doors made out of oak tree two giant men appeared out of nowhere-literally. I jumped a little as I studied their massive built.
"You have arrived , American."one of the two men commented in his deep Scottish accent. He had dark cherry red hair tied in a small pony tale and a huge beard. He didn't look pleased to see us and the way he dragged the word 'American' sounded as if Americans were a nuisance to him or to them because the other giant beside him looked really annoyed.
However beta Chris was clearly unphased by their attitude "Yes we have arrived,is it still necessary for you to be guarded whenever I arrive or are you forgetting I am still the beta."
"It is our job,"the cherry red head replied before opening the doors for us.
We immediately walked in,the inside was definitely different from the outside that's for sure. There was a massive courtyard with two beautiful trees,a few people walking around doing their businesses.The walls didn't look damaged and the way everything was inside really contradicted the outside. If someone was to look at the outside they would probably walk away thinking this was an abandoned mansion probably about to fall apart. However the inside definitely said otherwise,it was absolutely amazing.
"Follow me I will show you to your rooms." Chris said as he led us up some stairs.There were so many rooms in this building.
"Is this a hotel of some sort. How many people live here,this is amazing. I have never seen anything like this."Fatima said as her eyes looked around curiously.
Chris smiled as if happy to hear her voice-it was the mate bond being fed."This is the Avalon mansion where all the Royals stay. The Royals are just a few however so the higher ranked wolves also stay here guarding the royals plus a few trusted servants."
"Servants," Fatima laughed "what is this?The sixteenth century or something."she commented.
"You will be surprised how everything works here. Trust me even I'm a little new to some of the ways wolves do things here. The Scottish wolves are really deep into culture and tradition."he said as he reached the third door,it was a corner room right beside the balcony "This is where you will be sleeping temporarily while the Alpha renews his sleeping arrangements."
I didn't even want to ask what he meant by that because I had no intentions of ever sharing a room with Jake again-he was so aggravating."Oh okay," I said as we entered the room. It was beautiful, seriously beautiful and elegant. The room was big enough to fit two Queen beds. The bed was placed in the middle of the room. The walls had beautiful paintings of the moon,a baby white wolf howling to the moon and a forest. Then the other side of the wall was plane and there was a huge window giving me a great view of the forest.
"Wow!" I commented.
"The bathroom is right over there and if you need anything just call out-you will be heard."he smiled and I nodded my head.
Fatima squealed making me jump a little "oh my gosh we love it !". I giggled at her sudden excitement-she didn't know.She was gonna freak out big time .
"Uh you are not sleeping in here mate."he said nervously scratching the back of his head.
Fatima froze "What,so I get my own room?"she asked dangerously slow.Shit was going down.
"Yes but with me...so it will be our room."Chris replied almost silently.
"Oh hell no! I will not be sharing a room with you!An animal,worst of all a stranger.Prisca please tell him he is crazy if he thinks I will agree to his ...his stupid idea!"she exclaimed,cheeks turning red in frustration. I had to do something before things got of hand.
I smiled at Chris sweetly "Can't you just let her bunk in here with me for a while? She will not agree to this you know especially not now. It is just too soon and humans don't do things the way you do things."
Sweet Chris looked as if he was considering agreeing with me but the stupid disease called my mate had to ruin everything as usual. I could smell him before he even breathed his first word.
"You will not be sharing this room with my mate. In fact I just finished making our sleeping arrangements final and you will be sleeping next to me on our bed-love."he stated staring down at me.
I wanted to punch him in the face, rearrange his whole face and make him look ugly like his heart and soul."You...you can't do that. I don't even want to sleep next to you or even five feet away from you so you can go and rearrange your sleeping arrangements again!"
"Now that is just deep mate. I would really love to stay here and spend some more time tolerating your little chit chats...but I am a busy man. Now come,"he said reluctantly as if I was a small child throwing a tantrum.
I felt the heaviest urge to just follow him,he was so different. Something had changed with him and he was definitely stronger.
"Please follow me."beta Chris said taking his mates hand softly and surprisingly Fatima followed him after giving me a sad smile. I guess even she understood she couldn't win this fight especially with the cocky Alpha.
I however was as stubborn as my father and I wasn't going down without some sort of a fight,"listen here Jake. You might be the Alpha Lord or whatever but you are definitely not my Alpha Lord. You don't own me so I don't have to do everything you say."
"Ah... You see mate actually technically I do own you and not only do I own you but I own that child that is growing inside of you. Right now you are just delaying the inevitable."
I laughed sarcastically,that bastard! "Now you suddenly acknowledge the baby. Oh did Bella refuse to sleep by your side suddenly too? So not everything is going according to your ignorant plans"
Jake suddenly folded his arms with a smirk, "Mate why do you always have to think lowly of me? If you really wanted to know about my previous sleeping arrangements you just had to ask. I wasn't sleeping with Bella by my side that's not how tradition here works,we were going to have a mating ceremony first. I was sleeping in my new wolf form for thirty five days. It's a long story for another day but now I'm done and I need you by my side. My beast will not tolerate his mate or our baby sleeping alone in another room-even if it is five feet away."
I blushed a little because he was kind of right,I felt so ashamed at how relieved I felt after he told me he wasn't sleeping with the red head by his side."well you can tell your beast to go fuck himself!"
He growled and suddenly he was in front of me. He grabbed my hand and easily dragged me to his room that was two doors away from the one I had been given first."You need to grow up." he said opening his door.
"Oh please,bite me!" I said with a growl.
"Okay."
I scrunched up my eyebrows "what?"
He smiled as we stood in the middle of his room which was really big as usual."I said okay,I will bite you as you wish."
I rolled my eyes as I walked away from him. I looked around his room which had a homey feeling,his bed was neatly spread with clean white sheets and a grey bedspread. There was a nice couch in front of his bed,a flat screen TV stuck up on the wall and a large bookshelf next to two French doors that led to a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the forest as well.
I quickly turned around to face him when I felt his breath tickling my neck "what are you doing?" I asked completely annoyed.
"Fulfilling your request."he said before sinking his teeth in my neck.
