Chapter 40

Maurvi's POV



I came back from my college after my practical exam, was still thinking about yesterday, how everything changed. I have a real boyfriend now.

When he cornered me between the wall and himself, my heart was beating frantically.



The way he kissed me was... I was rooted to the ground, I could not move. So, this was how people feel while kissing?? It was awesome. I still remember that he asked me about my first kiss. I was shocked. Then he started telling me about his first kiss and I got so uncomfortable, I did not even listen properly. I felt bad, my heart felt a kind of pang. I did not know at that time that one day he would kiss me for the first time.



The doorbell rang and I went to open the door and was pleasantly surprised to see my sister Noopur standing there. Though Kshitij said that she had a tentative plan to come, but I was not sure if she would come. I was so excited to see her that I squealed and threw myself on her.



She laughed and hugged me.



" Wow!! you are so excited to see me. "



" Of course, you stupid. "



" I had a long weekend due to holi, so I decided to come here. Mom is angry with me. She wanted us to come home but you could not come because of your practical exam, so I thought it is better if I come and be with you. I didn't want you to be alone on our favourite festival.



" You know, you are the best sister in the world." I said and she nodded.



" So, what is your plan for the Holi? "



" Well a friend has invited me for the holi party. It is going to be fun. Why don't you come with me and if Kshitij is still here we can invite him too."



" Will your friend not mind, if we come with you? "



" Not at all... I'll ask him right away. "



I called on Vikram's number, the ring was going and he picked up the phone on the 4th ring. "



" Hi Maurvi, how are you? " he asked me.



" I am good. So how is your preparation for the holi party going ? "



" Very well, I am very excited about that. " I could feel him smiling on phone. I know he is.



" Ok Vikram, I wanted to ask you if I can bring my sister and her boyfriend along, only if you don't mind? On second thought can I call two more guests ?"



" Not at all dear, it is your party, you can call anyone you want. The more the merrier... Just don't forget to bring my best friend. " I smiled and said that I won't and disconnected the call.



" So who is that special friend of yours? Do I know him and what did he say in the end that made you smile and blush? "



" Nothing... "



" Now don't tell me that... It didn't look like a nothing. You are hiding something. "



" What?? no... "



" Well come on, come out with it fast."



" Ok, ok... I agree I have few things to share with you but first of all get fresh and have some food you must be really hungry, I will tell you everything in detail. "



She ordered pizza and went to get fresh. I prepared a salad and thought about taking a bath as well.



She came out and I went to take a quick shower.





Gautam's POV



I did not have any more appointments so I came home. I saw a pizza delivery boy coming out of her house. I was curious as she doesn't like to eat outside food. Is she not well. I was about to ring the bell but saw the door was ajar. I went in and saw her in the kitchen with her back towards me. I thought of startling her so I hugged her from back.



" What??? " She yelled and tried to get out of my arms. But her voice seemed different. I wanted to startle her but I was surprised instead.



Just then, I heard someone coming from her bedroom, I turned and was shocked to see Maurvi there? I released the girl in my arms immediately. Oh god !! Who is she?



The girl turned immediately to hit me but stopped the moment she saw me.



" Gautam bhaiya??? "



" Noopur??? "



" What the hell?? I almost died of the shock. Just a minute, how did you come in and why did you do it?? "



" Oh... Noopur... I am sorry... I thought you were... " I was saying but I didn't know what to say.



" Maurvi ??? " she asked with a frown.



I gulped and looked at her and then Maurvi who was now looking at us with a shocked expression. I nodded my head hesitantly.



" Seriously??? Like seriously?? Eeeeeee " She looked at both me and her and then shrieked....



" Oh my God !! So you were going to tell me about him while having food ? " She asked Maurvi.



" Hmmm "



" Wow!!! You know she had a crush on you for so long... "



" Oh God !!! Yes, I came to know about it just yesterday. I wish I knew earlier. By the way I met Kshitij yesterday, nice man, though we didn't have a very good start, but now we are ok with each other. "



" Hey, he didn't tell me anything about it. He tells me almost everything... Though I had a feeling that he was not telling me something. I could sense that he was smiling when I asked him. He said I will get to know about it very soon. What happened?"



Maurvi told her about it and she was laughing like a lunatic. What was so funny about that?



Both the sisters seemed to be prone to those laughter fits. I know the perfect cure of my Maurvi's fit, but was not interested in curing Noopur's laughter fit.



" Oh god it was so hilarious... I can't seem to stop laughing. Our famous laughter fit has hit me. " She said and I looked at Maurvi and found her turning into a tomato. Somehow, I just remembered our kiss and my face turned a bit red.



Oh god !! Don't tell me that I would also turn into a tomato... No, can't do that I can't blush. Shit. I heard a saying in Hindi-



kharbooje ko dekh kar ker kharbooja rang badalta hai. Per tamatar ko dekh ker ......



What am I thinking??? I am going insane... I better pull up my socks or my family and friends would start teasing me.



" Earth to Gautam bhaiya... Oh, I think I must not call you bhaiya now.. " Noopur teased me and I smiled. I felt so good to be teased like this but silently wished that I must not blush.



" Hmmm "



" Ok brother-in-law, so when are you both going to tell the parents? "



" Very soon.. "



" Hey Maurvi, who was that guy whom you called regarding Holi party? " I looked at Maurvi and she smiled.



" Vikram, he is Gautam's friend. He is a very nice person. He is giving the party. "



" What did you say to him? " I asked.



" I asked him, if it was ok that I bring my sister and a few friends along?"



" Ok, but you know him, he would love that. What did he say ? "



" He said, Of course I can. " She answered



" Hey but you blushed a bit in the end. What did he say? I asked you at that time too but you said that you'll tell me later. " Noopur asked. I was curious now.



" Well, he said I can bring anyone, but must not forget to bring his best friend. " She said shyly.
