Chapter 44

Maurvi's POV

Gautam's friends dragged him to dance and enjoy with them. I wanted to look for my little sister. I saw them, they were picking up more colours from the platters. Noopur and kshitij were enjoying a lot.

They were literally lost in each other, oblivious of others around the. I could see that she was extreamly happy. Kshitij was a very nice man. I went to them and threw red coloured water on both of them.

Kshitij went to grab another small bucket and Noopur ran after me with a dark green colour in her hands. She does that on each holi. She applies fast colour which remains on skin for a day or two. So I started running, I kept running and looking back at her. We had already reached the extreme corner of that garden.

All of a sudden, I collided with someone. I looked at the face. It was Dr Aakash. I apologised to him for bumping into him and he smiled in a very weird way.

I was about to move when he said, " Hey beautiful, how are you? Won't you play Holi with me? " And before I could say anything, he applied so much color on my face in very rough way that some of it even got into my eyes and nose and went away. I could not even breath or open my eyes properly.

I got very uncomfortable because of that so I wanted to wash my face. I saw the washrooms were on that side only, so I turned to tell Noopur that I want to wash my face but I saw that kshitij was throwing water on her.

I thought not to disturb them and went to wash my face. I washed my face and eyes properly. I just came out of the washroom.

I saw Aakash coming towards me again. I did not want to talk to him. So I just kept walking avoiding him. But he came and stood in front of me.

" You are looking even more pretty today. Why did you wash off the colour from your face? Didn't you enjoy playing Holi with me? " he came closer to me.

I tried to get away from him but he caught my hand. I tried to get my hand free from his grip.

" What is so special about you, that draws me towards you? Hmmm? You are so pretty.... Why did you chose Gautam? Why are all girls get crazy about Vikram and Gautam? I wanted to be friends with Sandhya but she is with Vikram. I liked you the day I saw you and you are with Gautam. Even that Aditi wants them? What is wrong with me?"

" Please leave my hand and let me go... "

" No just listen to me, I am as good looking as him even better than him, why can't you be interested in me? "

" Please leave my hand, I am in love with him. I don't care if you are less or more handsome than him. I have eyes only for him. I Loved him for many years. Now, leave my hand. "

He tightened his grip on my hand and pulled me in his arms. I shouted but the music was loud. I pushed him and then stomped on his foot with my full might.

He loosened his grip a bit. I stomped again and he winced this time. I got myself out of his arms but he caught my arm again in a very painful grip.

" I saw you flirting with all his friends and even his brother. You even smiled even when they put colour on you or hugged you. You like all of them, but not me? By the way which of the brother is better? You know what I mean.... " He said with a wink.

I got so shocked with what he said and so annoyed that I slapped him with my other hand which was free.

" Oh !! My words have seemed to hit the right cord. You were flirting with Vikram, and Gautam's friends and brother and that another handsome guy who came with you. If you can flirt with all of them why not with me? Give me a chance too, beautiful, I will prove you that I am better than all of them... I swear I will make you scream my name at the top of your voice... Just for my knowledge... Who is the best out of them?? "

I slapped him again and he pulled me again. I tried to push me or hit him back. But this time his grip was even tighter. I was trying to hit his leg and stomp again but couldn't.

All of a sudden, he stepped back as someone punched him hard. He left my hand with that punch.

How can this man be so cheap?? How could he say all those filthy things? I didn't flirt with anyone. Did I?? I couldn't say a word. My throat was getting chocked, I could not even utter a word. I was just so shocked. I kept standing there. I was oblivious of the things around me.

" Maurvi? Maurvi?? ....Are you all right?? " I saw my sister was looking at me with so much tension on her face. I just nodded and tears started pouring out of my eyes like anything.

Gautam's POV

We all were enjoying the party. I was standing with my friends as everyone was here except Sagar. I missed him a lot. I don't know what was he doing

... But I was missing him.

I then looked at her. She was running here and there laughing as her sister has some very dark green colour in her hand which seemed to be a fast colour. They both were giggling.

I wanted to join them but Rahul and Mehul started teasing me, " Seriously Gautam you are whipped... You can't even take your eyes off her. "

" No that's not true... I love her, but I am not as crazy as you were. "

" Ha ha ha... You may be smart but we are not idiot. We can see that you are going to be a very important member of our club. You are guarding her like a watchdog. Hey, Rahul did he even blink when he was looking at her? " Mehul teased and Rahul laughed.

" Oh, please don't exaggerate. "

" We are not... Ok, I dare you to turn your back on her and not look at her for at least 10 mins." Rahul said and turned me so that my back was towards her.

" He was jealous of his own brother and when he was talking to Maurvi, this idiot kept jumping in their conversation. Vikram was telling me. " Said Rahul and then both of the stupids started laughing again.

" Oh, shut up... It was not like it."

" Then what was it like? " Rahul asked.

" He was asking her to be her model and then next time, he asked if he could kiss her hand and then he asked, that if she would marry him? He was actually teasing me. "

" And it worked... I would give anything to see you all possessive and jealous. You have always made so much fun of us. " Said Mehul. Just then Vikram came back with a big smile on his face and winked at me.

" It worked... I did play Holi with her finally. Though she got a bit angry, but then my charm worked on her. Thanks for your brilliant idea, Gautam. "

Everyone was laughing. They both said they have to leave and went to collect their wives who were standing aside as they were not very keen on playing Holi. We all said bye to each other.

Vikram started telling me how he tricked Sandhya and played Holi with her. He looked so happy now.
