Chapter 16: I know you killed Anthony.

After Sebastian Iverson's Purposeful outbreak, everyone starts looking at Bella making comments to each other.

“What do you mean by that, Mr. Iverson?” one of Anthony’s “Capi” asks, intrigued

“It's no big deal, Max. Mr. Iverson is just finding the wrong way to vent his pain over my father's death. Johnny, please get your father out of here.” Benjamin tries to alleviate the situation

“Mr. Iverson, I'm just not going to respond as much as it deserves out of respect for my father who is lying in this coffin and the guests who came to say goodbye to him. But, when all this is over and you still want to say such words to me again, I will be happy to respond appropriately.”

“You insolent, how dare you answer me? The slap he received was small considering the size of his audacity.”

“Now arrives! My father wouldn't tolerate that kind of attitude and neither would I. Get out of my house now.” Benjamin gives the order and some of the subordinates who were present stand up to carry out what the new “Don” ordered.

“Please gentlemen, remain calm. My father is just a clueless old man and I'm already getting him out of here.” Johnny, in his roguery way, manages to get around the situation.

While being accompanied by his only son to his car, Sebastian comments in a low voice:

“You understand that everyone has already taken the idiot Benjamin as the new “Don”. Keep doing what we planned and soon it will be his turn, be submissive, but not too much and with regards to your bitch of a wife, leave to make her really suffer later, for now just pretend to be deeply offended.” the old articulator advises his son

“I'll be cold to her for a few more days and then I'll make peace and pretend normality until the final blow.” Johnny smiles with a sinister look

The next day, it was time for the final farewell of Anthony, the great patriarch and leader of the Hahn family, Benjamin, James one of the most faithful soldiers, Max and another member of the family carried the coffin to the grave, everyone gathered to say the last goodbye and with Bella it would be no different:

“Father, I know I should have said some things while I was alive, but you know how difficult my personality is, but I am still grateful to have received so much love, so much affection and protection and forgiveness for being so selfish and inconsequential, but still I know that the Lord loved me and loved each one of us who are here. So what’s left for me to say is… Goodbye Dad!” Bella, as well as many of those present, including her brother, son and mother, who hugged each other, watching the coffin descend more and more while some people threw white roses, Johnny was a little away, as was Susan, Bella's faithful subordinate, and much further away, watching everything from a safe place for him, was Dylan,

“Ah Bella, I’m so sorry! It didn’t have to be like this.” the handsome man with tanned skin laments, concentrated on what he was seeing, listening to footsteps approach him

“How did you find me here?”

“For me it was obvious. It’s not over, right?”

“I don't know what you're talking about, Oliver. Let’s go before anyone else discovers me here.”

As everyone leaves, including Johnny who takes Théo with him. Bella, Benjamin and Jimena stand still for a while longer looking at Anthony's grave.

“I feel so responsible for our father's death, even if indirectly.”

“What are you talking about, Bella? Don’t get carried away by the damned words of that clueless old man of your father-in-law.” Benjamin holds his sister's hand

“Maybe she has a little guilt, just like the two of us Benjamin.” Jimena reflects.

" I didn't understand." the two brothers look at their mother

“ Bella fell in love with the son of her father's arch rival, that was a big disappointment, and to tell the truth I hadn't been happy with Anthony for a long time and I wanted his death in my thoughts, especially when oppressed me and as for you Benjamin, let’s face it, you always had the ambition of a higher position within the organization."

“Mom, there are certain things we just think about and never say, do you understand?”

“Yes son I understand.”

“What about you my sister. it wasn't your fault, we both fell into a very well-articulated trap.”

"And truth. Listen to your brother.” Jimena smiles

“Why are you smiling? Mom, have you gone crazy?”

“That scoundrel set everything up meticulously well. Everything was almost perfect” Jimena continues smiling

“But our father has already been avenged.” Bella looked at her mother thinking she was talking about DK

"It will be? Let’s let your father rest in peace.” Jimena walks ahead, leaving Benjamin intrigued and thoughtful.

Returning home, Bella goes straight to see Théo who was still crying over the loss of his grandfather, finding Johnny who as soon as he sees his wife gives his adopted son a hug getting ready to leave:

“Thank you for taking care of Théo for me.”

“No need to thank, he is and will always be my son.” At that moment Bella felt grateful that nothing had changed between Johnny and Théo, little did she know that she was involved in a nest of lies and conspiracies.

Johnny was walking down the hallway heading towards the room he shared with his wife when he bumped into Jimena:

“It’s you I want to talk to.”

“Mrs. Hahn, feel free to speak.”

“Not here, in Tony’s office.”

Despite not understanding what was happening, Johnny follows his mother-in-law to the place she wanted.

" Please sit down." Jimena is polite

“What do you want to talk to me about?”

“I know it was you who killed Anthony.”

“I know that the pain of loss can be almost maddening, but to say that I killed the “Don” is very delusional. I'm sorry, ma'am, but I can't stay and listen to this nonsense.”

“If you dare get up from there I will kill you, Johnny Iverson.” Jimena points a Glock g25 at her son-in-law.

“Okay Jimena, let’s assume you’re right, now what? You’re not going to hand me over because otherwise you would have already done, what do you want, threaten me?”

“Actually, I want to help you.”
