Chapter 38: You and Dylan can never be together.

Alexander watched Théo for a few more minutes, noticing his incredible resemblance to Dylan, but the gray-haired man didn't want to give in and when he finally decided to speak:

“My grandson, no way. You're crazy if you think I'm going to recognize this kid who has the blood of that damn Anthony Hahn and worse, that bitch who tried to kill you running through his veins.”

“Mr. Kicher, I understand that our families have been rivals for as long as I can remember, and if you feel angry and want to curse me for what I did to Dylan, I take responsibility and I even say sincerely that I regret it. However, I ask you not to talk about my father who is no longer among us to defend himself and I ask you not to take your anger out on my son who is innocent in this dark story.” Bella doesn't lower her head to Alexander

“You really are arrogant, how dare you, you bitch. I should just kick you and the your bastard out of my house.” Alexander is extremely rude to Bella, making Deanne very happy, but not let it show, he just continues to observe everything next to DK

“My son is not a bastard, he had a father, even though he is adopted and he is a big son of a bitch, since you threatened Dylan who at the time did not have the balls to face you and preferred to abandon me.” Bella confronts Alexander about Dylan's look of admiration that deeply bothers her current girlfriend and in a desperate maneuver tries to draw attention to herself

“Bella, why are you being so disrespectful to someone who is welcoming you into her own home, even though you are clearly a rival?”

“Mr. Kicher, don't worry. I will find a way to get out of this situation as soon as possible and I will leave you alone.”

“Couldn't it be now? You and that brat would save me from looking at you every day.” Alexander and Bella completely ignore Deanne, Oliver doesn't hide his mocking smile, stopping only when DK looks at him with a serious expression.

“Dad, enough teasing, can't you see that Bella is already humiliated enough? And another thing, she's only here because of Théo and nothing more.”

“Whatever! Get them a room and if it's not too much to ask, avoid showing up in front of me. That goes for you too, my son's girlfriend.”

“But I…”

“What's going on here? I seem to have missed quite a show.” Rebecca enters the house

“Where were you?

“I went out to cool my head since DK showed total disrespect for me and I had a crazy urge to punch this new bitch he found in the face.”

Everyone looks at Rebecca who doesn't even care, Alexander just says it's good to see her home despite everything being chaos at that moment and starts coughing nonstop, making DK, and even Bella, pay attention to him.

"Are you okay, Mr. Kicher?"

"Of course. Take care of your life." Alexander walks to his office to disguise that he was feeling sick, Rebecca follows him.

"Godfather, I think you should tell DK about your illness."

"Not yet. I'll get better and after everything is over I'll tell him about my victory, after all I'm the mighty Alexander Kicher." The proud man coughs again

“When will you go to the doctor again?”

“Next week, stop asking so many questions and get my medicine from the third drawer of my desk.”

While Rebecca helps Alexander, DK calls one of the maids to help Bella and Théo settle in. A lady with almost completely white hair comes over. DK calls her Nona, she is the housekeepers.

“Nona, why did you come? Where are the maids?”

“Isn’t it obvious? They’re busy. Let me take your unwanted guests to their room as you asked.”

The woman with the stern expression starts walking up the stairs, asking Bella and her son to follow her. When they get to the room, the housekeeper shows them the place:

“This is the room you’ll be staying in. As you can see, it’s very spacious. The window overlooks the garden. It has a bathroom, a large, comfortable bed, a closet, and in my opinion, it’s more than you deserve.”

“Sorry, I don’t think I understood what you meant.”

“You understood perfectly.”

“Oh, I understand! You need to defend your boss even if he’s wrong, after all, he’s paying your salary, isn’t he?”

“How dare you, you insolent woman.”

“Listen, ma’am, I understand the rivalry between my family and Dylan’s family, and that you’re in the middle of all this. You must have witnessed a lot, your white hair tells me that, but I’ve never done anything to you personally, so why are you so angry with me because of my last name?”

“Your last name is cursed and you don’t know anything.” Nona looks at Bella

“Then explain to me what I don’t know.”

“Your father killed Mr. Kicher’s wife in cold blood, for revenge and of course for power. That’s why you and Dylan can never be together.”

The beautiful brunette is surprised by the revelation. She knew it was a serious situation and remained silent. Before leaving, the housekeeper takes a good look at Théo: “How can it seem like that.” The boy listens, but doesn't understand what she means. After Nona leaves the room, Théo approaches his mother asking if she's okay. Bella nods and tells the boy to go take a shower. Then she gets up and starts walking around the room in anguish, until she stops in front of the window looking at the very well-kept garden. She sees DK and Deanne in a kissing scene like a scene from a romantic movie, romance for them and terror for her. Bella can't hold back her tears, feeling a mix of bad feelings. However, she moves away from the window when she notices Dylan raising his head and looking directly at her.

"This isn't going to work. I need to get out of here as soon as possible."

In the meantime, Taylor returns to the captivity where Théo and Bella were before, observing his fallen guards, some unconscious and others dead. He quickens his steps and when he reaches the door of the room where he discovers that his prisoners have been rescued, he calls Johnny, even though he's apprehensive:

"Can you tell me, how are things over there?"

“Boss, your wife and her son ran away.”

“What did you say?”
