Chapter 48: Wake up Théo, please!

Bella, upon seeing her son unconscious and bleeding near the first step of the stairs, screams his name, but not before looking closely at Deanne's debauch face.

“It was you, your woman damn .”

“I don't know what you're talking about, I was going up and he was coming down, your son lost his balance and fell.” Deanne responds yet with a mocking expression.

Bella, who had Théo's cell phone in her hand, takes the opportunity to call the emergency services to ask for an ambulance and as she kneels next to her son calling his name, Nona appears and asks Bella not to touch her son.

“But Mrs. Grasso, I need to know if he's alive, look at all the blood. My God! Théo, wake up!” Bella cries in despair.

In the meantime, Oliver arrives at the mansion and, upon seeing the situation, approaches, asking what had happened. Deanne immediately speaks up and explains her version of the facts, but the subordinate finds it strange, but says nothing because he doesn't want to add fuel to the fire.

“And this ambulance that never arrives.” Bella complains.

“Calm down, Miss Hahn. Théo is alive. Look at the vein in his neck, it’s pulsing. Don’t cry, please.”

“It’s true.” The brunette sighs and at the same time hears the siren of the ambulance approaching.

The paramedics examine the unconscious boy, and then Bella asks how her son is doing. The answer comes quickly:

“Unstable. We need to hurry.”

Oliver follows Bella in the ambulance and when he looks at Deanne, he realizes that she had Théo’s cell phone in her hand, looking through everything, and a bizarre idea crosses his mind.

“No. She didn’t do that.” Oliver shakes his head and continues to follow the paramedics and Bella, who left in her maid’s uniform because she didn’t have time to change. In the ambulance, DK’s subordinate asks to take them to the hospital that Alexander Kicher had on his payroll, which, by the way, was the same one where the leader was hospitalized. Théo is taken to the emergency room to stop the bleeding and have a bandage applied, then he goes to the exam room, always with Bella by his side. As for Oliver, he stayed behind and took the opportunity to tell Dylan what had happened:

“Did Théo fall down the stairs? Was he playing on his cell phone?”

“No. Because from what I could tell, the cell phone was in Miss Hahn’s hand, although it later ended up in your girlfriend’s hands, but anyway.” Oliver gives details on purpose

“And what does Deanne have to do with this?”

“According to her account, the boy tripped and fell, she was a witness.”

“I understand. Oliver, keep Rebecca looking after my father, I need to check on my son.”

“He’s in the X-ray room.”

After DK leaves, even with difficulty speaking and with the vent in his face, Alexander calls Oliver closer to him and gives him an order:

“Check the cameras, they’ll tell us the truth.”

“Yes sir.”

“Cameras?” Rebecca asks

“Yes, cameras. Mr. Kicher had me install cameras all over the house, almost two months ago.”

“Two months? it's not the how long DK’s girlfriend has been living at our house?”

“Exactly. He saw and heard about on her, and you know how smart the old man is, no one can fool him, and that’s when he decided to install the cameras, hidden from everyone, of course.”

“Wow! You could have at least warned me, I would have avoided some things.”

Oliver approaches Rebecca and whispers, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone that you pick your nose from time to time. It’ll be our secret.” The tall, muscular man winks casually at the blonde, who looks embarrassed.

“Oliver, what are you waiting for? If it’s what we think, make my idiot son watch everything from beginning to end.”

Arriving in the examination room, Dylan soon sees Bella, not only because of the maid's uniform she was wearing, but because that uniform was the curves of her body that stood out inside that uniform and seeing other men lusting after her made him jealous, but that wasn't what mattered and then he approaches:

“And how is Théo?”

“I don't know. The MRI takes a long time and they didn't let me stay with him. I'm scared”

“Everything will be fine, I promise.”

“Don't promise anything that you can't do, you'll never learn that?”

“I'm trying to be optimistic and comfort you.”

“He hit his head when he fell, he was bleeding, Dylan.” Bella cries and Dylan hugs her and he takes advantage of that unique moment by pulling her closer to his body, she notices but doesn't complain because she also wanted that cozy hug.

“Who is responsible for the boy Théo Hahn?” the doctor leaves the MRI, Bella lets go of DK

“I'm his mother, Bella Hahn.” The doctor looks at the brunette, noticing her incredible beauty

“And I’m the father and the guy who pays your salary.”

“I see. Well, Théo suffered a mild trauma to the parietal bone of his skull. He won’t need surgery for now, but we’ll keep an eye on him when he wakes up. As for the bleeding, it was just a superficial cut on his scalp and it’s already been stitched up. He’s wearing a range on his head because it’s part of the dressing. Don’t be startle. I’ll free up a room for him.”

“Thank you, Doctor!” Bella finally smiled

“Want some advice? Don’t leave your son alone to go to costume parties anymore. It could be dangerous. Your son was very lucky. He could have died.”

“Doctor, this is my work uniform. I’m a maid at the Kicher mansion.”

“Hey, but didn’t you say you were the boy’s father? And another thing. Aren’t Hahn and Kicher enemies?” The doctor looks confused

“Don’t try to understand and just do your job. Transfer Théo to a suite.”

“Okay.”

“Bella, I’ll ask the housekeeper to bring you some clothes so you can wear in place this uniform.”

“Don’t bother Mrs. Grasso with this nonsense, she has a lot to do.”

“Okay, it can be another maid then. You can’t wear those clothes.”

“Okay then. You can’t stay in those clothes.”

Meanwhile, back at the Kicher mansion, Oliver sneaks in through the back where the video room was, where only he and Jacob had access. Since his friend was working on another job, he goes in alone and starts rummaging through all the recordings, finding things that made his hair stand on end, even though he was bald.

“That bitch really had some nerve.”

In the living room, Deanne was still looking through Théo’s cell phone, realizing that the boy hadn’t recorded anything about her.

“Ugh! So much work for nothing. What if the kid dies? Oh, whatever, one less person for me to share the Kicher fortune with.”

However, what she didn’t know was that Nona was listening to everything she said, until the housekeeper’s cell phone rang:

“Yes, Mr. Dylan?”

“Come to the hospital and bring clothes for Bella and Théo.”

“And how is the boy?”

“Out of danger for now, we’re waiting for him to wake up.”

“Okay, I’ll pack a small bag and have the driver take me.”

“Are you going to the hospital?”

“Yes.”

“How’s the boy?”

“Out of danger and they’re waiting for him to wake up.”

Deanne thinks for a moment and then says:

“I’ll go with you to the hospital.”
