Chapter 63: Possibilities!

Bella looked at the traitor without any pity, while he continued to curse her and when Gavin finally fell silent:

“You finally calmed down. I thought you were going to throw a tantrum for the rest of the day.”

“End this torture already. Or better yet, wait a little longer and you’ll have a little surprise.” Gavin tries to regain her confidence

“Little surprise? Are you talking about the 3 incompetents who were with you? Did you happen to know they were fugitives from the police?”

“What did you do, you bitch?”

“Me?I just request some police officers who are on my payroll and guess what? Your colleagues are behind bars now.”

“That’s the essence that Benjamin lacked and that’s why he was weak and was eliminated.” Gavin stares at Bella

“You never deserved to be by Benjamin’s side, he had too good a heart to notice the dirty traitors around him. And that was his only sin.”

“I disagree, his main mistake was being a fool.” Gavin smiles mockingly and Bella makes a point of grabbing a mirror that was on the bedroom wall to show how the vain Gavin's haircut had turned out.

“Aah! You crazy bitch, look what you did.” Gavin fidgeted in the chair he was tied to.

“I remember the time we shared shampoo, because mine was branded. Who would have thought it would all end like this.” Bella puts her hands on her hips

“Wow, what a boring conversation.” Luke sighed boredly.

“You're right. Let's get this over with. But first, I need to wear my stiletto heels.” The beautiful and vengeful brunette hits Gavin's delicate face twice, who screams in pain and anger, because Bella made a point of humiliating the traitor to the extreme. Finally, she takes her gun from her bag, puts a silencer on the end and shoots her father's former subordinate right in the forehead.

“Here lies a traitor! Burn in hell, damn you.”

“What do we do with him?”

“Find any hole and get rid of it. After you clean it all up, buy a really pretty gift box, just like Gavin's, and put a lock of his hair in it and send it to Johnny in Miami. Upon returning home after resolving the entire situation, Bella feels lonely and misses the time when everything seemed a little easier, perhaps because her father and brother were always willing to resolve any situation, no matter how difficult it was, and she, in turn, could simply venture out into the world, meeting new people and new places. It was at this moment that Bella thought again about Dyllan and the proposal he made to join forces and become a family, opening a smile thinking that it would be just a utopia on the part of the two, but it's good to dream every now and then, she thinks to herself as she tastes a wine sitting in the living room. However, her thoughts turned to her brother Benjamin, to whom, despite being independent and somewhat detached, it was different with him. Even when she was far away, they always spoke and talked for hours on the phone. In fact, Benjamin was her best friend and when he was gone, Bella didn't even have time to cry or mourn for long. Things soon became tense and the only thing that went through her mind was protecting Théo and herself. Same, while your thoughts emerge through her mind, she looks through the huge glass wall that allowed her to see much of Manhattan and Central Park, noticing snowflakes falling, feeling the December could penetrate her skin.

“Oh my! I think I lost track of time.”

“You sure did. Aren’t we going to put up the Christmas tree this year, Mom? It’s already December 10th.”

“Théo, my love. Yes, we will. How about we both go to the place that sells trees and pick out a really big, pretty one?” Bella puts her glass of wine aside to pick up her son.

“And the ornaments?”

“We’ll buy the prettiest ones too. By the way, what do you want for a Christmas present?”

“I wanted Grandpa Anthony, Grandma Jimena and Uncle Ben here with us, like every year, but I know that will never happen again, so it could be anything.” Bella couldn't hold back her tears and in a tight hug she whispered to Theo:

“I'm sorry, son!”

“Mom, everything will be okay.” Theo wipes his mother's tears.

“Thank you, my love. Now go and wrap up warm so we can buy our tree and decorations.”

Bella orders Simon to get the car ready and Susan is told to send some security guards to accompany them from a distance. At the tree shop, right at the entrance, there are several pine trees on display, but covered in snow because it had just snowed, so Bella lets Theo choose the tree, and he chooses one that is 2 and a half meters tall.

“Theo, don't you think you're exaggerating? How are we both going to decorate this giant tree?”

“Mom, we just have to buy a ladder if we don't have one at home, and besides, we have Susan.”

“Hey, I'm only 1.75 meters tall.” Everyone smiled at the funny way Susan complained. After ordering the tree, the little group goes shopping again, this time to buy the ornaments for the tree. Theo chooses an outdoor spot, which made Bella apprehensive, but when she saw that her son was having fun, she tried to relax.

“Mom, can we go ice skating?” Theo points to the ice rink with several people gliding across the rink.

“Okay! But you’re not to leave my side, understand?”

“Yes, Mom.”

Bella and Theo were having fun on the ice rink doing fun tricks despite the amount of people on the rink at the same time, until for a minute Bella took her eyes off her son and the boy disappeared into the crowd, she looked in the direction of Susan who started looking around the skating rink as did Simon the driver/security guard. A few minutes later a seemingly familiar voice echoed behind Bella:

“Did you happen to lose a very naughty boy?”

Bella looked back and to her surprise: “Dr. Carter?!”

“Hi Miss Hahn! We met again. Here's your runaway son.”

“Actually, I just followed a woman who was wearing clothes similar to my mother's.”

“How dangerous, boy. You don't let go of my hand, do you hear?”

“Of course I heard.” Théo makes an angry face.

“Thank you, Dr. Carter. But what are you doing here?”

“Today is my day off and I also live nearby. I went down to see the first snow and felt like skating. Maybe it’s fate.” Carter smiled at Bella, who blushed.

“We make our own fate.”

“Hmm! Good to know. When are you going to accept my invitation for coffee or lunch or dinner?” Carter played you charm, making Bella smile.

“It could be tomorrow at 7:30 pm at that famous pasta restaurant. Do you know which one?”

“Yes, I do. And I’ll be waiting for you there.”

“See you tomorrow then.”

“Okay, see you tomorrow!”
