Part A: Chapter 13

***Unknown’s POV***

“Are you sure she is the one?” he asked as he pulled the bag from her head, revealing her unconscious body.

I looked at her, feeling my blood boil at the fact that she was still alive. “Of course she is the one,” I snapped and turned away from her. The longer I looked at her, the harder it was for me to control myself. She was the reason that Aidan had left me and wouldn’t take any of my calls and I despised her for that. What did she have that I didn’t?

“But isn’t it a little extreme kidnapping her like that?” he asked as he walked over to me, standing just a good distance from me. “You know when they find out she’s missing we are in trouble and I don’t want to get on Aidan’s bad side. It’s already bad enough that I have to see him every day.”

I snapped my gaze at him and scoffed. “He doesn’t even notice you, so you can keep your mouth shut,” I replied. “And they won’t suspect us.” I narrowed my gaze as I asked the question that I should have asked him when he brought her. “You didn’t leave a trace, right?”

He took a step away from me, making me groan.

“You idiot, how can you be so careless? I told you to do a clean job and not leave any room for error but I should have known better than to trust a low life omega like you,” I was yelling but I didn’t care. “If they so much as suspect me, I will make sure you wish you were never born, got it?”

He bowed his head and nodded and I walked out of the room, suddenly too pissed off with both him and her. Why were they trying to make my life harder than it needed to be?

I left the building, got into my car then started the engine. I had to get out of this neighbourhood before anyone saw me. That would surely raise some concern and I didn’t want to deal with too much heat than I already was going to get because that stupid omega couldn’t follow simple instructions and now I had to go and clean up before anyone noticed. Gosh, I hated getting my hands dirty.

I peeled out of the neighbourhood and went straight to my house. When I got there, I headed straight for my room, not caring about the greetings that the servants threw my way. I had more pressing matters to attend to. I changed into a black attire and carried a ski mask in case I ran into someone while I was there.

“Going somewhere?” Sean asked from behind me.

I turned to face him and he was standing in the doorway with his hands folded across his chest and water dripping from his hair and onto his white shirt. “I have to clean up a mess because stupid omegas can’t follow simple instructions,” I snapped as I walked past him and out of my room.

“What kind of mess?” Sean asked, following me. “If you had asked for my help, you wouldn’t have any cleaning up to do.”

“Yes, yes, I know, now will you leave me alone?”

“Nope, you know just how much I love my dear sister and wouldn’t want anything to happen to her,” he said cheekily.

I spun around and shoved him back, hard, trying to make my point but he only stumbled back a few inches and was back in my face.

“Now, that’s no way to treat your elder brother,” Sean said laughing.

Sighing, I crossed my hands across my chest. I had to listen to him otherwise he would keep annoying me and prevent me from doing what I needed to do. “What do you want? I already told you I have things to clean up and the longer this will take, the higher the chances that I will be caught and we both know you don’t want that to happen,” I said.

Sean beamed and hooked an arm around me, pulling me closer to him and letting the drops of water from his hair fall on my hoodie which annoyed me. “That’s the spirit, so what are we cleaning up?”

“Aidan’s place before they notice his latest pet went missing.”

Sean froze for a second and then he composed himself. “What did you do this time?”

“I told you, Aidan is mine and no one will take him away from me. Not some lowlife who doesn’t even know where she comes from claiming to be his mate will take him from me,” I snapped and removed his arm from my shoulder. “But the fool who was supposed to kidnap her ended up leaving a mess and now I have to go and clean it. Is that all?”

“Why do you always do this?” he asked with a sigh. “Can’t you find someone else to obsess over?”

I narrowed my eyes at him, getting pissed off. “I’m not obsessed with him. He and I were meant to be and plans for our mating ceremony are already underway. So, no, I will not let that happen.”

I walked out of the house and Sean followed me to my car, he got the keys from my hands and I glared at him.

“Get in, I’m not going to let you get caught because of your foolishness,” he said and entered on the driver’s side and I shook my head before walking around and getting in the passenger’s side.

“You aren’t dressed for this.”

“Ha! Tell me something I don’t already know.” He shot me a look as he peeled out of the driveway. “But someone has to look after you.”

He drove us all the way close to the Carmichael estate and parked the car about a kilometre away from it and turned to me. “Here’s the plan, show me where exactly we are going and I’ll do the clean up for you while you stay guard, got it?”

“Fine, just make it quick and don’t leave any more messes for me to clean up,” I snapped as I got out of the car and Sean got out as well.

“If you’d have come to me for help, none of this would have happened,” he snapped.

"You would have told me to move on," I snapped back.

"And it would have been justified unlike you pining over a guy who has made it clear he doesn't want you."

We walked in the shadows all the way to Aidan’s quarters and a smile broke out on my lips. I hadn’t been here but every time I visited, Shelly always pointed it out to me and tonight was the night I saw the inside of his place.

A loud crashing sound stopped us in our tracks and Sean and I shared a look.

“Fuck, looks like someone has beaten us to it,” he said coldly. “Let’s get out of here before whoever that is comes out and sees us.”

Just as we were turning around, ready to leave, a voice called to us from behind.

“Look at the mess you left. But I’m sure you already know what’s going to happen now. He won’t let you take her away from him. If only you had been smarter about it, then none of these would have happened.”

Chills ran through me at the familiar voice and I knew we were in so much trouble.
