Part C: Chapter 63
***Unknown’s POV***
I was pacing back and forth in my room. I had had a bad dream and it wasn’t like me to dream but that dream really bothered me. Why was she there and what did she want from him? Who was she was the better question and why had I seen her in my dreams along with him? What the hell was happening?
There was a knock on my door and moments later Julius entered with his phone by his ear. “What do you want?” I asked but he raised a single finger to me as he spoke on the phone. Something was definitely wrong because there was no way that Julius would dismiss me the way he just had.
“Yes, she’s here,” he said into the phone and then passed it to me.
I looked at him as if he had grown a second head. “Who is it?” I asked with my hands crossed over my chest. “I’m not taking the call until you tell me exactly who it is and what they want from me.”
Julius sighed, “they said they want to talk to you about Carla,” he said as he pushed the phone at me once more.
I raised my eyebrows at him, “who is Carla?” I asked, still not taking the phone from him which was making him agitated. “Well?”
Julius ran his fingers through his hair. “Carla is Leonie’s niece and we have her parents here,” he said with a large sigh. Now will you please take the bloody call.” He pushed his phone at me once more and with a defeated sigh, I took it from him and placed it at my ear.
“Yes?”
I watched as Julius walked over to my bed and laid down, his face staring at the ceiling.
“We have to believe that Carla was spotted at the Carmichael companies,” the person said, going directly to the point. I liked such people, never wasted my time because they knew I would have their head. “But it’s quite unclear whether she was there or just happened to be passing by.”
I clenched my teeth together in frustration. I really didn’t have time for whatever nonsense that was about to happen but I knew I had to deal with it before it got out of hand and risked my safety. “And why are you calling me to tell me this if you are unclear about what actually happened?” I barked. “Don’t you know never waste my time with stupid things like that?”
The person was silent on the other side and I almost tossed the phone on the wall but then he spoke. “Well Alpha, it’s just that you had told us to call you should anything out of the ordinary happen and that’s what we were trying to do.”
I took a deep breath to calm myself down. I guess I had to give it to them for following my instructions. “And that gives you the reason to disturb my sleep?” I asked which earned me a confused look from Julius but I just rolled my eyes at him. I wasn’t about to look like I had forgotten my own rules to my subordinates now was I?
“I apologise Alpha, I just thought it would be of urgency and that’s why I decided to call,” he replied.
“It’s fine, forget about it,” I replied. “Just keep up with your job and report everything back to me. I don’t care how little or insignificant it may seem, I want to know everything about my people. Are we clear?”
“Yes Alpha.”
I hung up and tossed the phone at Julius who caught it just before he could hit his face. “I want Carla brought to me immediately. I would like to have a word with her,” I said to him.
Julius sighed as he sat up straight. “She’s just a kid and I’m sure it was nothing,” he said, trying to defend her. “Don’t do anything stupid that will make you lose your people’s respect.” He stood up and walked to the door while I glared at his back. I hated when he was right about something because that meant I hadn’t put enough thought into it. When Julius was by the door, he turned around. “Why did you lie to the poor guy and make him feel like he had done something wrong by following your orders?”
I narrowed my eyes at him as I walked over to my bed and sat by the edge. “Are you trying to question me right now Julius? Do you think that’s a great idea provided my current mood?” I asked, crossing one leg over the other which made my nightgown fall over to the side and reveal my thigh.
“I was just asking, forgive me,” Julius said. “I shall bring the child to you.” He bowed his head and opened the door but I called him back.
“You are to bring her parents along because I just want to talk to her and nothing else,” I added then waved my hand dismissively at him.
Julius left after that I got up to take a shower. I had to think about what exactly I was going to say much less do because if I did anything irrational, then I would end up losing my people’s trust and faith and if that happened, it would be a matter of time before they all turned against me and I couldn’t have that at all. I liked living the high and comfortable life, that was the only reason I did everything up until now.

Carla and her parents were sitting in my living room as the servants served them tea. I kept feeling Julius’ eyes on me and I knew he wanted to say something but he was holding himself back.
“Carla, it has been brought to my attention that you were spotted in America near the Carmichael Enterprise. Is that true?” I asked, my voice levelled as I stared at the young girl with her flaming red hair. She reminded me of me when I was young.
Her father and mother placed their cups on the table and were kneeling in front of me while Carla sat still, composed even.
“We are so sorry about that Alpha, she was on a school trip and we didn’t know she would do anything that stupid. We take full responsibility for all her actions.” They both said at the same time.
I rolled my eyes glad that they didn’t know who Aidan was. That was something I should have thought about before I had Julius call them and I suppose that was what he had been trying to tell me.. “I didn’t ask you, I asked her.” I turned my attention back to Carla who was sipping her tea quietly. “Carla?”
She said as she held her cup by her lap. “Yes, it is true that I was in America for a school trip but the Carmichael Enterprise was one of the places we had to visit,” her voice was so composed that I almost thought about taking her under my wing and nurturing her talent. She seemed like she would make a great asset to have by my side. “Did I do something wrong by going there, Alpha?”
Touche, I thought to myself. If I said anything, that would give everything away and I didn’t want that. “Oh no dear, I just wanted to ask how you found the place. Anything interesting happen?” I asked with the sweetest smile I could master.
“Is that all Alpha? I have a school report about the trip I have to finish,” She placed her cup back on the table, stood up and bowed. I waved her off and she left with her parents following behind her.
“Carla?” I called out and I heard someone whimper before Carla returned, her parents behind her yet again.
“Yes Alpha?” she asked softly.
“I would like for you to move into the mansion. I want you to be my apprentice. I have so much I’d like to teach you.” I couldn’t help myself. I liked her enough to take the risk because she had so much potential and her parents were wasting it.
Carla’s parents bowed their heads as they thanked me over and over again as they left.
“Was that a wise move?” Julius asked
“She reminds me of me and I want her to be great,” I replied as I watched them disappear.
