Part A: Chapter 16
***Jemila’s POV***
I was panicking, failing to understand what was actually happening. I had been kidnapped and then I was released only to be brought here by some guy and his sister who I didn’t even know and now the guy was saying I belonged to him. Just what the hell had my life turned into?
Was I now a slave? Was this what being slow in my decision to run away had cost me? There were so many questions running through my head and I couldn’t process any of them. Goddess, please forgive me for whatever sins I had committed in my past life. I didn’t know anything and I didn’t want to have to suffer for something that I couldn’t even remember doing.
I had to escape, I couldn’t stay here any longer than I already was. This was just too much and very unwelcome.
The door opened and the guy walked in. He had platinum hair with green and red highlights with a well chiselled jawline. He was the epitome of perfection but he was also my kidnapper, there was nothing perfect about that. His eyes slowly looked at me from head to toe and then he sighed, walked over to an island bar in the corner and poured himself a glass of something that looked like whiskey.
“You need to show and change into something clean,” he added as he swished the contents of the glass, looking at it as he did so. “I want you to feel comfortable and I will make sure Lila stays in her lane and leaves you alone.”
I almost scoffed if it weren’t for the fact that he could so easily kill me and no one would know about it. “Please let me go, I promise to stay out of your way,” I pleaded.
He took his eyes away from the glass and turned his smouldering gaze on me. His eyes were a bright violet. “I’m not the villain here, I rescued you from my sister. The least you can do is say thank you,” there was a smile toying at the corner of his lips and I didn’t know whether I should feel confused or flattered.
“If I’m not your prisoner then I can leave?” there was skepticism in my voice.
“Sadly, no, I can’t because then you’ll only go back to Aidan and he will find out my sister kidnapped you and I can’t have that,” he replied coolly, walking over to the couch and taking a seat, one leg crossed over the other with the untouched glass still in his hand.
“I swear by the Goddess that I won’t go to Aidan and I won’t tell him anything,” I knelt down with my head bowed down. “I was planning on leaving before I was hit on the head and kidnapped, so please believe me.”
I could feel his gaze burning through me but I didn’t dare raise my head to look at him. I wanted to leave and if it meant grovelling then I was going to do it no matter how long and how degrading it was. This was my freedom we were talking about.
“I want to believe you, so why don’t we do this,” he started, his voice a warm melody to my ears. “You get up and join me on the couch and we get to know each other, though I would prefer you wash up.”
But I didn’t move, I didn’t know if I could believe anything that came out of his mouth. What if he was tricking me and if I made the wrong move he was going to snap my head from my body?
He sighed, “I’m not going to kill you, Jesus,” he said but I still kept my head bowed. I heard him get up and the next thing, he had his arms wrapped around under pits lifting me up. My eyes met his and they glowed with something that I wasn’t sure what it was. He didn’t say anything as he placed me on the couch and then sat down. “See, harmless.”
“Please don’t kill me,” I could feel the tears prick my eyes.
“I’m Sean, it’s a pleasure to meet such a beautiful woman as yourself,” he beamed instead, showing his pearly whites. “What’s your name?”
“Um, Jemila.”
“Cute name. What does it mean?”
“I-I don’t know. I don’t know anything about my past,” the words left my mouth and I couldn’t take them back. There was so much I didn’t know and dying now would be really sad for me.
Sean tilted his head slightly to the left, seeming to be analysing me. “You are one interesting little wolf,” he finally said. “The bathroom is on your right.”
I slowly stood up and walked to the direction he had pointed me in and found the bathroom. It was just as luxurious as Aidan’s but instead of everything being black, everything was white.
“You’ll find some clothes already in there and don’t think of escaping, the whole place is surrounded and I can’t guarantee your safety outside of this room,” came Sean’s voice.
Fuck, as if I was going to be that dumb, I had to come up with a better plan than escaping while pretending to take a shower.
I looked at my reflection in the mirror and grimaced. My hair was a mess and I had dried blood covering my forehead and the back of my head and my clothes had grim and dried blood on them. I quickly stripped out of the dirty clothes and jumped under the shower-head. The warm water felt good on my skin and I made sure to rinse out all the blood and wash my hair as well. I was going to have to redo it anyway. I scrubbed every inch of my skin until it hurt.
“Are you still in there?” Sean called out.
I mentally my eyes. “I’m not that stupid as to run away using the bathroom,” I called back and then slapped a hand over my mouth when I realised just what I had said. I waited for him to budge in her and snap my neck, but instead, I heard him laughing.
“Take your time,” he called back but I could still hear the humour in his voice. “But the food will get cold, the choice is yours.”
I wanted to say I wasn’t hungry but my stomach betrayed me when it grumbled loudly. Sighing, I quickly finished cleaning myself and said goodbye to the warm water before towelling myself dry and changing into the clothes that were neatly folded next to the sink. There was a blue dress that reached me mid-thigh with a pair of matching underwear and shoes. Heat crept up my cheeks at the thought of Sean picking out my underwear but then I scolded myself. This wasn’t the time to blush over how hot my kidnapper was.
After I was done, I left the bathroom and found Sean in the same position I had left him in but there were plates on the table in front of him.
“Wow,” he said when he noticed me enter. “I wasn’t sure about the blue but hot damn, you look hot girl.” He was staring at me, drinking me in and I saw his eyes flash black before they went back to their original colour.
I took a deep breath and pushed everything aside. I wasn’t going to entertain him but if he wanted me to play his game for me to gain my freedom, then so be it. I joined him on the couch, making sure to keep a good distance between us.
“Come on, why’d you have to sit so far away?” he pouted. “I don’t bite, unless you want me to,” a smirk making its way onto his lips.
I narrowed my eyes on him. “I may be your prisoner but I am no slut,” I hissed.
Sean raised his hands up in surrender, a goofy smile replacing the smirk. “Gotcha, but I never give up,” he beamed. “Someday you will willingly agree to be mine and when that day comes, I will make sure you know just how rough and hot I can be.”
“That won’t ever happen,” I wasn’t sure whether I was trying to convince him or myself. “I’m Aidan’s mate but I assume you already knew that.”
“Guilty, but it’s not unheard of for someone to reject their mate in favour of being with someone else,” Sean shrugged as he picked up a plate of spaghetti and started eating. “And weren’t you the one who said you planned on leaving him anyway?”
My mouth opened and closed but there were no words that came out. He had caught me but so what if I planned on leaving Aidan? That didn’t mean that I was going to jump into a complete stranger’s bed nor did that mean that I was going to reject him. I had read all about what happens to an alpha when his mate rejects him and I wasn’t about to make him go through that even if he had hurt me.
“I would never reject him.”
“We’ll see about that love, we’ll see just how long you can hold out on me.”
