Part B: Chapter 34
***Unknown POV***
I sighed as I looked outside the window at the glorious expanse of land before me then I turned around and picked up my phone.
The phone rang three times before it was answered.
“Hello,” the person said. “Who is this?”
I rolled my eyes at the question, such stupidity would be the death of us all. “Is this the Carmichael estate?” I asked instead.
“And I asked who is this,” the person replied with an urge to the voice.
“That isn’t important as of now, you will know who I am when the time is right,” I replied in a sing-song voice. “Now on to my question, is Jemila staying there?”
There was a pause before the person finally spoke in a clipped tone. “Why do you care and how do you know her?”
I laughed incredulously. “I’m her family and I have much more right to her than you do stupid girl,” I said. “I would like to propose a trade.”
The silence grew much more than the first time. “What do you have in mind?” the person replied in a huffed voice and then followed by the closing of the door. “And how will this benefit me?”
“I can take her off your hands and then you can finally have what you have always wanted.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
I twirled a lock of my hair, a smirk on my face. “Let me tell you something about yourself that you keep to yourself,” I started, “I know about your little secret crush on you know who and what you did last month. So, be a doll and do as I say or I will expose you to everyone and I’m sure you wouldn’t want that.”
“What do you know? I didn’t do anything?” the person replied quickly and in a huffed tone.
I laughed out loud and hung up without anything more. Looks like everything is going according to plan.

***Jemila’s POV***
I felt my limps shift and turn into my wolf form. My scenes heightened so much that it overwhelmed me so much. It had been so long since I let my wolf out and Aidan had insisted we go for a run together... in our lycan form.
Aidan walked over to me and rubbed his nose against my fur then he nodded his head for us to start. He started running and I followed after him, loving the way my body felt as it glided and the wind brushed my fur back.
Aidan was all ahead of me and now that we were back in his territory, he was much faster and more free which is something I hadn’t noticed until now. I ran after him, trying to catch up but it felt as if my limbs were shorter than his.
We ran and ran but suddenly I felt a little woozy for some reason that I had to stop and change back into my human form. I grabbed the tree trunk and slid to the ground, everything was getting away from me. I closed my eyes and tried to catch my breath.
I just sat there with my eyes closed until I felt a pair of arms wrap around my legs and arms then lift me up. I tried to open my eyes but couldn’t. “Aidan?” I croaked out. My body feeling heavy and my senses highly heightened for some reason.
“Shh, I’m here now, just rest,” I heard his voice and everything inside me seemed to shut down at that moment. “I’m here for you now and you can rest.”
I kept my eyes closed the entire time as I felt Aidan walk us back to his quarters. I clutched onto him with as much strength as I could master. The walk soon came to an end and then I heard the opening and closing of the door then he placed me on the soft comfortable bed.
“I’ll get you some water,” he smoothed down my hair and then placed a kiss on my forehead. “Hang in there for me okay?”
I slowly tried opening my eyes and all I could see was a blur but I knew it was him. “Okay,” I croaked out once more and closed my eyes again.
It didn’t take long for him to return and then he gently woke me up. “Love, here have some water,” he said and I opened my eyes, letting him help me sit up and lean against the headboard. Then he held the cup up to my mouth and helped me drink from it. “There, there, just a little bit more.”
I finished the glass of water and Aidan helped me lie back down, my head on his lap as he ran his fingers through my hair. “Can you tell me what happened?” his voice was quiet.
“I don’t know,” I replied, getting comfortable on his lap and enjoying the feel of his fingers through my hair. “Everything just got overwhelming for a change.”
“Take a deep breath for me love,” he said softly, his fingers leaving a soothing feeling through my scalp. “Just take some rest and I’ll be here if you need anything.”
“Hmm,” I mumbled, feeling myself slowly drifting into a deep comforting sleep.
*“Jemila, honey, wake up or you shall be late for school.”*
*I woke up and found mum sitting next to my bed wearing that motherly loving smile I was so used to.*
*“Morning mum,” I responded, getting up from bed. “Thanks for waking me up, I stayed up all late working on that,” I pointed at my desk where my research paper was lying on my laptop.*
*“I figured because your light was on all throughout the night and throughout the morning,” mum replied, getting up and heading to my closet where she pulled up some clothes for me. “Take a shower and join us for breakfast downstairs, your father has some exciting news to share.” She pushed me through my bathroom door and closed it. “Hurry up or you’ll be late for your lecture.”*
*I laughed as I turned the shower on and took a quick shower then wrapped a towel around my body and walked out of the bathroom. Mum had laid out a pair of blue knee-ripped jeans and my favourite grey tank top. After I was done, I put on my blue Converses, braided my hair then packed up my laptop and left.*
*When I got downstairs, mum was placing a cup of coffee in front of dad who was reading a newspaper.*
*“Morning,” I said, placing my bag on the other chair and then wrapping my arm around him and kissed his head before I took a seat next to him. “So, what’s the big news mum was talking about?”*
*Dad laughed, making his eyes wrinkle in that fatherly way I loved so much. “Did you really have to tell her about it?” he asked, turning to face mum who joined us at the table. “It was supposed to be a surprise.”*
*“Tough luck honey you know I can't keep anything from her,” mum said with an eye roll. “Just tell her.”*
*“Fine, I was going to tell you that...”*
Then I woke up frantically as I looked around the room.
“Come down, I’m here for you,” Aidan said, pulling me into his arms and comforting me.
It was all a dream and that was how my parents looked though I could hardly remember it now. I felt sad because that was the only time I got to see them and they looked so happy.
