Part D: Chapter 75

***Aidan’s POV***

“Alpha, your sister is here,” one of the guards said and then I thought I heard a slap. “Sorry, I meant the upcoming Luna.”

That was definitely a slap for sure. I sighed as I shook my head and got up from the couch where I had been doing my work from. I walked over to the door and opened it, a disappointed look on my face. “What do you want?” I didn’t have time to finish asking my question when Shel barged into my house, pushing me aside as more people started flocking in. “What the hell is all of this?” I closed the door behind me and turned to fully face as she directed the people on what to do. What the hell was actually going on? Did she forget that this was still my house and she hadn’t even moved in yet here she was already making plans.

“Shel, what the hell? Answer me,” I growled and everyone stopped what they were doing as they turned to look at me and then back to Shel who rolled her eyes. “I want these people out of my house right now.”

“Excuse us for a second,” she said to the trio she had come with and then she walked over to me and grabbed my hand, dragging me all the way to my bedroom where she closed the door behind so that no one would hear what we were talking about. “Why did you do that in front of everyone? Were you trying to embarrass me in front of those Omegas?” She crossed her hands over her chest as she stared at me down.

I leaned against the wall and stared at her, wondering just what the hell was going on in that head of hers. “Who do you think you are to bring people into my house without my permission?” I asked her back, one eyebrow arched in question. “Because the last time I checked, I built this house and made it my own. You belong in the mansion, not here.”

Shel huffed as she sat down by the edge of the bed. “Why do you always have to make such a big fuss? We are going to become one soon and the least you can do is give me a break and stop acting like such an immature child for once in your life.”

I laughed darkly. “I’m the one acting like a child? Really? Where in that thick skull of yours did you come to that conclusion?” I asked, my face going darker as I glared at her. “Just because we are going to be whatever doesn’t mean I want you in my house, this is my personal space and I have no intentions of sharing with anyone. Much less a spoiled brat like you.” I knew I shouldn’t be saying such things because that would give away everything but I hated pretending. If I didn’t like something or someone then I was one to speak my mind at all costs. But maybe in this situation it wasn’t the best idea I had come up with by the look that fell on her face.

“Then why do you still want to go ahead with this if you won’t even let me in? What’s the point of any of this?” she flailed her hands for emphasis but her voice cracked. “If you don’t want any of this then why did you say you wanted to be my mate in front of everyone the way that you did? Was that all just a cruel joke you wanted to play on everyone?” She sniffed and wiped her cheek with the back of her hand.

Fuck, I had totally screwed up and they weren’t going to be happy to learn I had messed up so soon when we were so close to making everything right. I pushed from the way and walked over to her then crouched down beside her. I took her hands in mine. Come on Aidan, you can do this for the betterment of everyone. All you have to do is suck it up. “Shel, I'm sorry for what I just said. It’s just a lot for me right now and I would have appreciated a heads up on what you planned on doing,” I said, knowing truly that that wasn’t what I actually wanted to say. I used my thumb to wipe away the tears that were still falling onto her cheeks. “Next time please give me a heads up and I won’t react like this. I have so much work to do and that was the last thing I ever expected would happen today and right when I was making headway in my work.” I was repeating everything but I had nothing more to say.

“Okay, next time I will try to communicate with you in advance,” she responded as she held tightly on the hand I held her hand with and used the other one to cup the hand that was still unfortunately on her face, leaning into the touch. I felt a shiver run through me at being this intimate with my own sister.

What kind of psychopath did everyone think I was to actually want my sister in a sexual manner?

“Now can we go back there so that I can get back to work and you and your people can give me some time to finish up?” I said, trying for a smile but knowing it probably looked more like a grimace than anything else. “You and your people can always come back another time after we discuss the arrangement and how everything will be rearranged and changed.”

Shel smiled and took my hand and placed a kiss against the palms making shiver run through me. This was all wrong but I had to endure it all for her. She was the only one for me and I planned on keeping it like that. But if it meant that I had to play along with this sick game then I was going to endure everything because I knew she was going through so much more than what I was going through.

“Okay, I can do that,” she said and I tried to take my hands back but she held on tightly as she stood up and I stood up with her. “Then we can go and present a united front in front of them.” She smiled back at me and I smiled back. Kill me now.

We walked out of the room with her hand still holding onto mine. “All right everyone, we can do this another time. Right now, your Alpha has important work to attend to and I don’t want anyone to interrupt him. Are we clear?” she said, her voice demanding submission from everyone else as she held onto my arm, acting all lovey dovey. “All of you, leave.”

The trio scrambled and picked up their things as they dashed out of my house, leaving me alone with this crazy woman. Shel turned to me and before I had time to process what was actually happening, her lips were on mine and then she was pulling away, a satisfied smile on her face as she waved at me and walked out of the house. I was shell-shocked as I placed a finger on my lips.
