Part C: Chapter 50
***Unknown’s POV***
“Why is she still breathing?” I growled as I watched her being hauled into the mansion using the back door. “I told you to do a clean job and I wanted her dead at all costs.”
Julius wiped sweat from his forehead and dropped her legs to the ground, making them hit the floor with a loud thud. “Look, I couldn’t just kill her like an animal, remember she is still our niece,” he answered instead, which made me lose my temper.
“I didn’t ask for your opinion, I simply asked you to carry out a task and be done with it,” I replied through gritted teeth. “Her being alive is still a threat to our peace and security. We will only be at peace once she is dead and has joined her pathetic parents.
Julius narrowed his eyes at me.”He was our brother, stop acting like he didn’t matter at all. Just because he got all the light because he was older doesn’t mean he treated us like crap and for that, I will not kill my only niece,” he growled. It was rare seeing him lose his cool but it seemed I had touched a nerve by asking him to kill her and I should have known he still had some form of loyalty even if he was now dead. “We will keep her here as prisoner if that makes it better for you no one is killing her and should you lay a finger on her, I will forget you are the youngest and kill you on the spot. Are we clear?”
I took a step back from how aggressive he sounded. I knew he would always do what I told him, but there were some times when not even my threats could get through to him, that was how stubborn he could be. “Fine, we won’t kill her but that doesn’t mean she will get any sort of good treatment from me. In fact, I always want her to be tortured. That’s the only way I will believe that you haven’t changed your mind on me.”
“Fine, but you can’t kill her no matter what if you decide I’m not doing a great job,” he spat as he walked past me, bumping into my shoulder which made me stumble because I hadn’t expected him to do that.
I watched him go with clenched fists. He may be older than me, but I had the power in this pack. It was all mine and no one was going to take that away from me. I turned to look at the lackey who was still holding onto her arms. “Take her to the cell below, the one where all the prisoners are tortured and chain her up. And clean that blood, I hate the sight of blood.” I turned around and left, my heels clicking against the hard marble floor.
I cursed under my breath all the way to my office where I slammed the door in frustration. Who did Julius think he was to threaten me like that in front of that lousy lackey of his? Now he was going to undermine my authority and I hated that. This was my pack, not his. My genius and careful planning had ensured that we would get everything and now he had the audacity to undermine me. I was going to show him just who had the power between us.
I stopped around the office and sat down and my chair, the chair that he used to occupy before I killed him. This used to be his office but I had taken everything and redecorated it to suit my style. The walls were no longer dull brown but now were blue with all my accomplishments hanging on every inch of the walls along with portraits of myself. The desk was still the same, just repainted along with the chair which was refurbished and turned into mine. I made sure that I didn’t throw anything away just so that everyone would truly understand I had the power and intended on not sharing it with anyone, not even Julius even though sometimes I made him think that we were doing this together when in fact he was my scapegoat. One I intended to use until he no longer was of use to me.
Rolling around on the chair, I laughed maniacally. I had accomplished and made it all mine. It was all mine. The joy of that thought was short-lived as her face appeared in my head, taking away all the nice thoughts and replacing them with negative ones, ones of anger and detest. Gosh, I wanted to kill her so much it made my body tingle.
I picked up the phone and called the number once more. The phone was answered on the first ring.
“What do you want now? I already did as you said, what more do you want from me?” she yelled. “If he finds out I had a part in this, he will kill me while you remain watching. I’m tired of helping you. Leave me out of it from now on.” I could hear the fight when she had died and it was such a pity because I thought we were alike but turns out she was just another weakling, one I needed to dispose of before she caused me any trouble.
“I just wanted to let you know that the plan was successful and we have her,” I replied, rolling around in my chair. “You can now begin your part of the plan and make him yours at all costs. Are we clear?”
There was a pause followed by a lowered response. “What makes you think he will go for it?”
“Because he’s not only a man but an Alpha and he needs to secure his place otherwise he risks being dethroned or worse, running mad if he doesn’t mate by the next full moon.” I controlled everything and all I had to do was say it and it happened. “What do you think he will do? Why do you think his father had arranged for his marriage with that lousy girl who couldn’t even get the job done?”
“I don’t want this to backfire on me and for all the blame to fall on me,” she finally said, her resolve having wilted away as if it never existed. I knew I had said the right thing.
“That’s not my business, just get him mated to you at all costs and find ways to derail his search for her,” I replied flatly. “I cannot have a stupid boy like him ruin my plans. Plans I’ve worked so hard to perfect.”
I heard her swallow, “I’ll try my best.”
“I know you will, because your life is also on the line.” Then I hung up on her, feeling satisfied with the way I had handled that conversation.
Everything was finally going as planned, once he mated with her, then no one was going to stop what was to come. All of the lycans will know what true power means because that will be the day that I make my presence known to all lycanthrope. All of them will be singing my name as they bow down to worship me as their new God.
