Route 1: Benefits Is What Drives An Elvoi

This is the first time that I have seen Calyx mad and I will not deny it, it really made me nervous. Well, I already know what he is going to say and that he is definitely going to scold me for whatever I did. I also admit it, I did act without thinking twice about the consequences or how would my family react to whatever I said because again, I am no longer Isabella Red, the orphaned lady that only relied on herself because there is no one that she can rely to. I am now Scarlet Aubrielle Elvoi and I am not an orphan - I am surrounded by a lot of people that loves me and that will care about every decision that I make and I also need to think about them every single time before I make a decision.

But I only have one goal in my mind right now and that is to not let what happened in the original story line, I cannot let them die because of my bad decisions. Well, the thing is I cannot tell my brother that because he will surely freak out if he find out or worst he will not believe everything that I will say and that he will then regard me as crazy. That maybe I went crazy because of the accident that happened to me.

Well, I could tell it to him, but not now.

“Now tell me Scarlet Aubrielle Elvoi, why the heck did you do such a thing?” he asked in a serious tone and it is also evident in his face that he really is serious right now and if only I were a man then I am sure of it, he already hit me for being so careless. But then again, I have already thought of a solution on how will I be able to get out of this nasty position.

“Well, so here’s the deal brother” I preliminary said and his eyebrow even arched but I know that he is going to listen to everything that I about to say.

“So to summarize, I do think that obtaining information first about that new dungeon is necessary for us as we continue to subjugate other dungeons in our territory because let’s admit it every dungeon is unique. By having the authority to perform investigation and research on whatever is inside the dungeon will also be helpful to us so that we may never find it hard to subjugate another similar dungeon in the future. Not to mention that we will be able to freely compare and contrast the monsters that we have encountered so far and the monsters that we are about to encounter”

“Well, again brother think of it - the whole world will actually know the Elvois for being the pioneer of information and there is no way that they can erase our name in history. And I strongly believe that knowledge is power, as long as we have knowledge about dungeons and monsters, the imperial family will continuously rely on us and that they cannot easily cast us away or I guess charge us for treason even if we really didn’t do such a thing. Also another thing, knowledge also comes with wealth. Surely a lot of people will pay quite a large money just to obtain information from us”


“I know it is dangerous for our men to just go to that dungeon but they have me. I know that I can lead them well and I am already of right age brother, I simply want to prove myself”

That is what I explained, completely summarizing everything that I have said to him so far regarding why I suddenly butt in with his conversation with the Crown Prince, Helios. And I thought that he will yell at me because of the way his eyes closed but just then I was surprised that he just let out a sigh and then he nod his head.

He then opened his mouth, a sign that he is about to say something and I silently prayed that it will be something good. And the moment that I heard what he said, I cannot help but to smile and I am literally jumping happily inside my mind

“Alright, as your brother I understand your point and I allow you to partake in that expedition”

I am already happy, so happy that I am able to convince him but then, the next thing that came out of his mouth made me lose half of that happiness

“But in one condition, Scarlet Aubrielle”

Well, I guess there is really no helping it huh?

**Third Person’s Point of View**

“Welcome back, Father - Mother” that is what Calyx Shawn greeted his parents who just came back from restoring the barrier that prevents the monsters from entering the perimeters of their territory which they call as the safe zone of the North.

A safe zone, just like what it’s name suggest is a zone that no monsters are present and that safe zone includes not only half of the northern forest but also the towns and the Elvoi duchy itself. The duchess is the one assigned to maintain the crystals that creates the barriers that ensures that no monsters will be able to get pass the safe zone and attack the villages of their territory while the duke on the other hand kills the monsters that will try to take the opportunity of having the barrier down to enter the safe zone. And such a thing happens once every three months aside from the monthly subjugation of the duke and duchess together with the knights.

“Hi my son, I see that you are back from reporting to the empire huh?” Claude, the duke stated as he handed his coat to the butler of the house.

“Your father here is quite worried about you, he kind of thought that you will once again have trouble with the crown prince” Selene, the duchess said as she did the same, giving her coat as well to the butler.

Calyx then cannot help but to let out a sigh and then he replied:

“Father, Mother do you really think that I will have some crazy fights again with that bastard?”

The duke and duchess first looked at each other then they both nod their heads as a response to what their son just asked. Well, they are just being honest - they really do think that it is possible for their son to actually create again a brawl with Helios, the crown prince and the son of their friend who is the emperor of the Ixtal Empire.

Well, such a thing always happens whenever the two sees each other so they have gotten quite used to it.

Calyx then cannot help but to let out a sigh because of what his parents said.

“Anyway, I need to talk to you about something important” that is what Calyx just said, completely changing the topic and his parents then looked at him curiously.

“Can’t that wait until we finished eating our dinner and taking a bath?” the duke asked. He cannot believe that his son will suddenly say that, well usually even if his son is about to say something important he would really wait until they have finished taking a bath, changing clothes because they have monster’s blood all over them and also he will wait until they have finished eating their meal.

However right now is different - it seems like what he is about to say is really so urgent that he can no longer wait.

“Fine, you two can first fix yourself. You also stink badly, just what monsters did you kill in the forest?” Calyx said after he let out a deep sigh and he even covered his nose because he was actually quite bothered by it since the moment that his parents entered the duchy but of course, what he is about to tell them is more important than the nasty odor that entered his nostrils.

The duchess on the other hand, cannot help but to frown because she has a strong feeling that it is about their only daughter, Scarlet Aubrielle. Well, a mother’s instinct is never wrong but at the same time she is hoping that it is something that is not terrible as the news that she found out that she suddenly collapsed due to the extreme power that she possess.

She really hopes that if it is about their daughter then it would be something good rather than bad.

After the duke and duchess finished all the things that they need to do for themselves, they immediately went to the living room and they asked their butler to call for their son, Calyx. Calyx then arrived instantly and he just sat down comfortably in front of hi parents.

“So, let’s get straight to the point, what it is that you want to talk about Calyx? It honestly seemed like you were stressed out about something” that is what Claude, the duke said and Calyx cannot help but to let out a sigh.

Well, he really is stressed a while ago but after he heard his sister, Scarlet Aubrielle’s explanation about why she proposed about that plan, he honestly was able to be relieved. Well, he believed in his sister’s abilities, she really can subjugate the dungeon alone however of course, what he was worried about is that she may be doing it for his sake, so that he will never have a fight with Helios, the crown prince or that she is simply just acting impulsively.

But when he already heard her explanation about everything then that is when he realized that indeed, his sister had grown to be a fine and intelligent woman. That sooner or later she may already surpass their mother when it comes to wit and power.

“While you were gone, the crown prince Helios actually visited us. It was an unexpected visit. ” he said and no one can deny the annoyance in his voice.

Well, he really is annoyed with that man and he doesn’t give a damn if that man is the crown prince. He really is extremely pissed off with him ever since the time that he became the reason why Scarlet suddenly went berserk and almost died. And not to mention the fact that he’d get away from his crime just because he is the crown prince and his father is the friend of their parents.

“Ohh and why did he visit our territory? He really traveled a long way just for a visit” the duchess, Selene said. Well although she said that, she already knows that Helios came for a reason. Of course, the child will not trouble himself of traveling that long just for a visit.

“What did he say?” the duke asked and Calyx took a deep breath before he actually told everything to his parents.

After he told everything to his parents, both the duke and the duchess looked at each other and a little while later, the two both let out a laugh - it was a proud laugh in fact.

“I cannot believe it! Your sister did and said that? Well that was such an amazing proposal!” the duke exclaimed and the duchess nod her head thrice as an agreement - well, she really couldn’t agree more to what her husband said. Indeed, benefits is what drives and Elvoi in any circumstance.

“Well, this is also a good way for your sister to be able to let go of her already overpowering powers. I am proud of you Calyx for being able to handle everything while we are gone” Selene said with a smile plastered on his face and Calyx simply just nod his head as a response.

He will really do anything for his family, especially for his sister - to protect her from any harm because he only wants her to live comfortably.
