Route 1: The Story of the Emperor 1.0

"Cain" - I said his name naturally and of course without any formalities. Well, I am getting used to calling him without formalities anyway and it is a good thing because being able to do so makes me feel a lot more comfortable in this world.

"What are you doing here, Lady Mila?" - he asked and I tried so hard to not actually roll my eyes at him. Like what the heck? Am I not actually allowed to go out of my house and go in places such as this one? Well, anyway I should just answer him properly because I am not even in the mood to make sarcastic remarks at him. I just want to chill out tonight because I really deserve a break for writing those bunch of letters.

"Aesir and Alarick have gone somewhere, so I do like to try drinking outside while they are not around" - I paused for a moment and I looked at him straight in the eye. "How about you Cain, what are you doing here? It is impossible for you to visit this place just to grab a drink" - I asked him the same thing that he asked me. Of course, I am also curious of what he is doing in this part of the town, because his duchy is quite far from here and if I remember correctly there is also an inn around his part of the town, not to mention that he could also drink inside his mansion because it is impossible that he has no beers or wines at stock on his cellar. So, I just can't help but to ask that question.

"I am here to meet an old friend, and he is also asking me a to do something for him" - He honestly said and I can't help but to let out a smooth 'ooh'. I can't help but to be curious of who the heck is this old friend of his. I was about to open my mouth and ask him if I could join him as he meet this old friend of his because I am sure that I will be of some use, especially to prevent bastards from eavesdropping their conversation but he suddenly said something which instantly made me smile instead.

"Well, since you are also here, would you mind joining us, Lady Mila?" - He asked and without any second thought I nod my head and I immediately said 'yes'. Indeed, luck is on my side.

The two of us are now inside the inn, and I can't help but to be amazed on how this inn is actually constructed. It has four floors. The first floor is like a reception, it has tables and chairs and a counter where you could order the food or drinks you want. The second floor is for those people who wants to drink and eat in private so the inn provides room for those types of people to avail at the reception. The third and fourth floor is for the people who wants to avail a room for them to be able to rest for a night or they can rent a room for them to occupy as long as they want..

In other words, this is is just like a damn f-cking hotel in my past life. The only missing thing in this inn is that all the rooms are not sound proof and people can easily eavesdrop your conversation with someone, especially if they are using magic to do so. In other words, I still need to use my ability to be able to prevent something ensure that what Cain and his old friend is going to talk about here, stays here.

"By the way Lady Mila, have you already read the report I mailed to you the other day?" - Cain suddenly asked which instantly made me shift back to the reality that I am with him. I then can't help but to heave a deep sigh.

"I still haven't opened it. I was busy writing replies to a hundred of letter that also arrived on the other day" - I honestly answered him, well it is no use lying to him anyway and I am also expecting him to tell me directly what is inside that report so that I will not have to read anymore.

"Don't worry Lady Mila, I have already anticipated that you would not be able to read my report anyway because of the surge of letters inviting you to visit the nobilities' places. And it is because of the news going around town that you have successfully reached the fortieth floor and got out of it without a single scratch on your body" - he lengthily said and I just nod my head in agreement. Well, I do not need to stop him anyways because since the two of us settled in this room, I immediately put up a barrier around the two of us.

"So, what happened? Am I going to help you or nah?" - I directly asked as I playfully shake the wine glass I am holding while I am looking at him straight in the eye. And although I am looking at him straight in the eye, the way his lips curved up to form a nasty grin did not escape my eyes.

"Affirmative" - he said which instantly made me let out a chuckle. Damn-- he is really good, indeed he is a very overpowered hero. The fuck if I gave such tasks to another person they could have failed, but this man seriously, he really is full of surprises. Well, I just hope that he will not make the wrong choices when he met that damned female lead soon, because if he did, I will not think twice to let him be. I am not really planning to save him if that shit does happen in the future.

"This is the room where they are" - I heard someone said from the outside which made me stop from chuckling, and the voice is similar to the person who delivered the food and the wine that the two of us are enjoying.

"Your friend is about to enter" - I said and as if on cue the door opened and the old friend Cain was talking about stepped inside the room and when I finally saw that 'old' friend he was talking about, I can't help but to frown because I am not expecting that the two are actually acquainted.

"Lady Mila? What are you doing here?" - he immediately asked and I just saw from my peripheral vision how Cain took a sip from his wine glass.

Wait a f-cking minute-- in the game, indeed Cain has a childhood friend. This childhood friend of his has the same past as him and he too is hiding his identity because the emperor might find him and kill him and his younger sibling whom he tried so hard to protect. And also, this childhood friend of his is also one of the three routes of the game where the player could choose.

He also fell in love with the f-cking female lead but just like what happened to Cain in the game, he also lost something precious as he loved that bitch. What did he lost?-- Well, what is not the proper term but who. And yes-- he lost his sister as he loved that bitch. That bitch was the reason why the emperor found out that he is a direct descendant of a family that is very loyal to the late emperor.

Tsk what a shame-- does loving really need sacrifices? The game is really stupid. But anyways the sales are the most important thing and whether the game is lame or not does not really matter.

The f-ck, I can't believe that I have already knew for a couple of months already one of the important pieces of the game I made, so if this is the case, then maybe I could also open up at this moment how could he actually be of use. And of course, just like what I did with Cain, I will not reveal the major details about myself.
