Route 1: Seems To Be A Distant Past (10)

Scarlett Mila

“I told you magic cannot work, so now let me start with the talking” – I said and I shifted my gaze to the hybrids who once again are letting out a scared aura, and their fear is a lot stronger now than it was a while ago, well, I know it is because they are no longer able to use their powers to protect themselves to whatever I am about to do.

“First things first, you need to understand that you technically owe your lives to us. You have no right to do the same thing as that stupid werewolf did. Yes, we saved you but you have no right to order us around. We will do what we want” – I said as I took at step forward towards the werewolf who turned back into his human who is lying on the ground butt-naked. Why is he naked? I think it is the effect of transforming into a werewolf. Looking at his body, I admit that he got that body to be considered as ‘fit’. If I am going to bring him to my past life, a lot of girls will surely beg for a night with him. He will also pass being a model of a clothing brand or simply just a runaway model.

But even if he has a body that anyone would die for, I am not interested. He does not even pass the standards that I have set in this world. So far, Cain is the only man who piqued my interest the moment I saw him. The guild master, Azekien did not really piqued my interest when it comes to his abilities or strengths, what piqued my interest to know him a little bit more than what is expected is that he is a childhood friend of Cain, not to mention that he belongs to that one household who is loyal to the grandfather of Cain, which is the previous emperor. And that loyalty led to their household’s demise.

I am actually quite curious why the heck did not Azekien hate Cain’s family because in the first place if their family is not loyal to Cain’s then his parents and whole clan wouldn’t be considered as traitors and was executed by the current emperor. I do not totally believe that Azekien does not have any resentments towards Cain’s family. And I really couldn’t care less about him, I am more concerned with his sister, Annisa Kaldrof; that young lady will also be quite useful in my plans.

But before I am to use her, I am going to make sure first that there are no other hindrances that will affect my plan.

“What are you going to do with him?!” – I heard one of the hybrids in the corner exclaimed and based from her voice, it seems that she is quite concerned of this man lying on the ground butt-naked. I bet she is somewhat his lover, or wife – whatever, I don’t really give a dam—wait, maybe I should put up a show.

I crouched down and I can feel their fearful stares behind my back. I move my hands near his body and the same woman started to get hysterical and I know that the other hybrids are trying to stop her from actually charging at me.

Well, that is a wise decision especially now that they cannot use any of their powers. My hand is just an inch away from the werewolf’s body and I whispered a spell.

“Revert” – and when I said that his whole body glowed and slowly it levitated. As his body levitated it is also getting covered with golden light and right now no one can actually see his body. As if he is just a ball of golden light.

I can hear the hysterical screams of the hybrid behind my back and I cannot help but to roll my eyes. F-ck I am really thankful that I am so talented that I am able to create a barrier that prevents sound from coming out and that no one can hear us from the outside, because if I am not talented then more or less the people who are following us already knows what is actually happening inside this house.

They are going to capture us, and of course confiscate the hybrids and they will be put into an auction event once again.

“What did you to him?! Bring him back to me!” – she yelled once again, which also made me roll my eyes. She is so damn f-cking noisy. If only I could shut that mouth of hers. Yes, I want to see hybrids because they are so rare and I want to know how strong are they but right now I think I am slowly losing interest in them. Why?

Because I did not expect hybrids will be like this. F-ck they did not even know how to fight, second, they are so weak, yes, they have strong magical abilities and physical strength but it is their conviction to survive is what makes them weak. They get easily scared of a simple threat, not to mention they are all too noisy. Especially that damned woman.

I snapped my fingers and as if on cue the golden light that is surrounding the man’s body disappeared and the noise also disappeared. Why? Because the half wolf and half human man who was butt-naked a while ago and has a few wounds due to Kenzo’s attack is now wearing the clothes he has before he transformed and also his wounds are all gone.

His feet landed on the floor and as if on cue he opened his eyes. His eyes landed on me, then to the hybrids behind me then he looked at himself, I saw how his eyes widened when he saw that he is still wearing the clothes that was supposed to be thorn into pieces.

“H-How?” – he muttered which I clearly heard because I am just a few spaces away from him. I stood up and I composed myself.

“Just be thankful that I healed you despite the fact that you have gone berserk because of a simple thing. Tsk I could have just let you die and turn into a monster” – I said and I instantly turn my back to him to focus my attention the hybrids who are looking so stunned with what they just saw, well it is not only them but Cain and Kenzo looked so shocked as well.

Well, of course they are. Cain does not know that I have such ability and Kenzo knows that I use dark magic to be able to communicate with him and absorb the poison from his spell a while ago, but now I clearly used a magic that has light affinity.

“Second, I am going to make it clear that Kenzo right here, your tribe or whatsoever previous successor is different from the others. Yes, he turned into a dark elf however he was able to retain his sanity. So technically he is just the same. How am I sure? Well, just take for example what happened a while ago, and not to mention he was able to use the magic he has before he turned into a dark elf. Is that not enough proof for you to believe that he has not changed one bit?” – I said, and I can’t help but to roll my eyes subconsciously because what I just said is too long. Damn it feels like I have drained my energy because of what I just said.

F-ck, I really hate speaking, but I have to f-cking say all the things that I want to say so that everything we clear between our party and theirs. And I really just want to gain information from them.

“Third thing is that, because you clearly owe your lives to us, I do think that it is a great deal that you will tell us everything that we need to know and cooperate with whatever we think is the best course of action” – I said and as if on cue they all looked at each other as if they are talking using their eyes.

There is no use in arriving in a consensus anyways, they have no choice but to follow us and tell us what we should know.

“We agree” – I heard someone spoke behind my back, so I turned around and I there saw the man who I just fixed a while ago standing a few spaces away from me and he has this serious look on his face.

“Then we have a deal, but before we proceed to the real deal of this conversation. I know all of you are starving so I asked someone to prepare something” – I said and as I snapped my fingers, the lights at the dining area instantly lit up and the aroma of freshly cooked foods traveled across the living room where we are currently in.

“Go ahead and enjoy. Don’t worry I did not put poison on the food” – I added to what I just said and before I knew it all the hybrids immediately rushed towards the dining area. I looked at Kenzo and I raise an eyebrow at him. “What? You should follow them and eat. No one is going to bother you because they still cannot use their powers. So, eat your fill” – I said and I can see it in his eyes that he wanted to ask something, but he stopped himself. He heaved a deep sigh and he walked towards the dining hall as well.

I am about to walk towards the sofa to take a seat, when suddenly Cain called out to me which made me stop from my tracks.

“Lady Mila, who are you really?” – That’s what he just said, and I too cannot help but to heave a deep sigh as well. F-ck this is the consequence of using a magic that has light affinity in it.

“I told you, I have lost my memories. So, I don’t really know the origin of my powers. That’s one of the reasons why I am not actually using it” – I reasoned out as I shrug my shoulders. F-ck I hope he will believe what I just said wait—why am I doubting that he would believe what I just said? He would believe it because I already told him the first time, we met that I have lost my memories so I don’t know exactly who my parents are, and that I grew up trying my best to survive that’s why I became this strong and of course, that’s also the reason why I have lots of money.

“Then let me tell you Lady Mila, the magic you used is one of the rarest healing magic. You shall not use it elsewhere, especially if you are inside the empire. The emperor will surely keep an eye at you and it would be dangerous. “– He said and I immediately noticed on how serious he just sounded. Revert is indeed a healing magic, however to be considered as ‘rarest’ is an overstatement. Rever is not one of the rarest healing magic, it is actually still considered as a class A healing magic, however only a few people are able to use it because it requires that the caster has a high affinity for light magic, second it needs lots of discipline and control and third the caster must have pure intentions because if the caster does not have that, then more likely the effect will be the opposite.

The caster will not be able to heal the subject, more or less the subject’s situation will be worsened and the worst-case scenario is that the subject is going to die, and it will also affect the caster.

“I know and I have understood that fact the moment that I knew I could use such magic” – I said and I continued walking towards the sofa, when I finally reached it, I immediately sat down and closed my eyes.

Damn. Now I cannot believe that he instantly believed what I just said. I guess I am really a great liar, maybe I could have been a lawyer in my past life instead of being a game developer. If I did not become a game developer, would there still be a game like this one invented? Will I still die because of a car crash and will get reincarnated into this world?

F-ck why am I having such thoughts anyway.

“Mila, we’ve already secured them.” – Alarick said through our mind link.

“That’s great, go back now” – I replied an the two synchronously replied ‘okay’ through our mind link. After those hybrids ate their dinner, the real tiring thing is about to start. What question should I ask first? Hmm maybe it is best if I will start with the easiest one to answer.
