Route 1: THE DREAM 4.0

After the explosion had turned down a little, the three of us decided to enter the cave as well. Well, we hid our presence too well so it there is nothing to worry about with Cain knowing that someone is following him. Not to mention that there is no way that he will be able to know that we are following him first because of the fact that his power and senses are not that strong to do so and second is that I am not using an ordinary concealing magic, I am using Alarick and Aesir's guardian blessing to be able to hide my presence.

As we followed the same path Aesir and I took two days ago, I can't help but to notice the burn marks on the walls of the cave, not to mention the ashes that are flying all over the place. Well, luckily I decided to wear a mask, if not I am quite sure that I've already inhaled a lot of these ashes and it would be really disgusting because these ashes came from the monsters that Cain just burned.

"He is rushing this" - Alarick suddenly said which made me nod my head in agreement. I also think the same thing as well because if he is not, then he shouldn't be wasting the much of mana in order to immediately wipe out these weak monsters. The monsters he just burned could be killed by a single sway of his sword, like he could have just done that than causing a huge explosion.

"Maybe he just want to kill the dragon already to prevent any thing disastrous thing to happen" - Aesir stated. Well, she has a point because there is a possibility as well that when Cain found out that there was a dragon inside the cave, he immediately asked permission from Duke Franceschi to go back to slay the monster. His reason to do so may be related to the people who may die first because of the miasma that is getting stronger as days goes by, and he may also be afraid that the dragon will be able to escape its prison. Well, it is actually true. The seal around the black dragon's cage is getting weaker so there is indeed a possibility that he will be able to break through it and cause chaos around towns.

Well, actually that dragon can already destroy the cage two days ago but he is waiting for the right moment to do so. How did I know? Well, remember I was able to have a conversation with him and I have successfully landed a deal with him, although I am quite regretful that he is about to die today, I cannot do anything to stop it because I cannot change the plot anymore, not until all the pieces will be put in their right places.

As we continue following the path, once again we heard a loud explosion and a dark smoke swiftly passed through our bodies. I can't help but to let out a cough because of the smoke. Even Alarick and Aesir did the same.

Seriously? Can't he stop making everything explode? Damn, he is not just wasting his mana but he is also making me pissed off. Damn, he really could have just used his sword to save mana! Doesn't he also know that because of what he is doing as he gets farther to the entrance will make it easier for the miasma to leave the cave because it is getting mixed with the smoke from the explosion he created.

Argh can a hero really be this careless? Like what the heck.

I can't help but to let out a deep frustrated sigh as we finally reached the end of the cave, and we are only a few meters far away from Cain who is now making his way towards the prison of the black dragon. Why did I let out a frustrated sigh? Well, it's his fault. Like seriously? He keeps on making damn explosions and it is getting annoying because my mask is already full of ash not to mention it has also charcoal like marks, even my clothes feel quite itchy already. Also, Aesir who has white fur is not turning gray because of the ashes and smoke that is already attached to her body, Alarick on the other hand may seem clean but he also has a lot of ashes attached to his fur, an evidence of that is that his pure black fur has already gray like particles. Both immediately shook their bodies to remove the nasty dirts attached to their fur, well at least she can do that, while me on the other hand, I cannot because I surely have to wash myself up because if I don't I will feel stinky for the rest of my life.

Anyway, I just have to be patient since I also asked for this tsk.

"So you have come for my head, just like what the woman said" - I heard the black dragon said, however for Cain who is now staring at him it sounded more like a growl. Of course I am still able to understand what he is growling about because my magic has been permanently embedded to his body. When he dies and got reincarnated as another dragon or anything, he will feel the connection between him and my descendants, if I will have descendants in this world.

"I'm going to take your life for the people of this Empire" - I heard Cain said, more like it was a whisper but of course I was able to hear it loud and clear. Once again I cannot help but to grin because of what he just said, he is simply not acting like a hero that will save the empire from chaos, but he is actually acting like a prince worthy of the throne.

Well, he is really a prince anyway so there's nothing wrong with that.

"Very well, I am going to show you all that I've got. What I have stored and cultivated for a long time. I will not let you easily take my head" - The black dragon said again, which once again just sounded like a natural growl.

I watched him spread his wings and in one single flap of it, the bars where the seal was attached came flying. The bars are headed towards our direction but even before it could reach a meter away from me, all of the bars turned into shreds. Just like I've said, he really is waiting the right time to show his powers, breaking a seal like the one attached to his cage is not a big deal.

He is not breaking it just yet because he is actually planning to catch Duke Alfred unhanded. He is planning to avenge his parents. Although he is a black dragon who is one of the strongest monsters alive, he still has feelings and rationality because he too is considered a celestial beast; a celestial beast that has fallen.

I focused my attention to the two of them and I just noticed that Cain is already holding his two swords, on his right is the one with a magic stone and on his left is the ordinary one. I also noticed the scattered broken bars around him which means that he sliced all of them hmm maybe I'll ask him soon who made his swords because his swords are indeed sharper than I thought it would.

While my eyes are focused on the two, I can't help but to grin when two magic circles formed on top of the black dragon's spreaded wings. He is really planning to go all out with Cain, how do I know? Simply it is because he is using already a powerful magic.
