Route 1: The Story of the Emperor 4.0
****Scarlett Mila
The four of us, Aesir, Alarick, Cain including me are currently here inside my office. We only have a few hours left before the time when we will go to Annisa Kaldrof and escort her to a safe place. And with that remaining time left, we are going to plan our course of action.
Well, now I do believe that cramming or procrastination has nothing to do with the time you are born or even the world you are even living in. Shit. In my past life, the only time I crammed or procrastinated is when I was still in college. Damn being a Digital Animation student is really hard, we have a lot of things to draw and we are only given a day or two to finish all the shits. Not to mention that there are even minor subjects that give loads of tasks. And so, because I was already bombarded with lots and lots of things to do, there is this reporting that I just did three hours before the schedule of the presentation.
But I am even amazed of myself because I was able to even make a power point presentation and not to mention that the great that I had received was quite high compared to the others who prepared a couple of weeks before the said presentation. But of course, that's the first and last time I crammed.
And in this life and world, I hope this is also going to be the first and last time that I will be cram or procrastinate. I heave a deep sigh and as I snapped my fingers to once again create a barrier around my house for precautionary measures. After doing so, I tap my fingers on top of my desk and a virtual map appeared right before the four of us.
It is a map, specifically the route the virtual map shows the route that we are actually about to take as we escort Annisa Kaldrof to the place her brother, Azekien told us to bring her to.
"So, this is the route that we are to take if I am not mistaken" - I started and Cain immediately nod his head, which confirms that I am indeed right. Well, I am actually not really sure if I am right in the first place. I was able to get it by just following the description that the guild master, Azekien Kaldrof said to us last night. And this is the only route that fits the description.
"Can you tell us, Cain, where exactly you are going to get the guild master's sister? You can actually touch this map to navigate where exactly she is located" - I asked and he immediately nod his head. He put his hand on the map and he swiped right and after a few times he stopped in front of a black house surrounded by trees. Technically the house is located at the other end of the forest where he fought the damn f-cking dragon weeks ago.
"This is the house where she is kept hidden, actually in that house there is a basement and that's where she is. An old couple is leaving in that house to make it less suspicious" - he said and I can't help but to put my hands on my chin because I honestly can't help but to be amazed and even if I hate to admit it, Azekien Kaldrof is indeed a witty man to came up with such a plan.
Well, anyways that plan is no longer useful since the empire is starting to get suspicious of that house. But at least she was kept hidden for a couple of years.
"Then if she is right there, escorting her would really be hard because of course the imperial knights are not just our only problem but also the monsters." - I said and I touched the map and I swiped it a few times away from the house and I pointed out a specific place. "This place is particularly dangerous because based from my observations, this is where the monsters usually gather. The Imperial knights would technically avoid this route so they are going to possibly take the route adjacent to the one that we are about to take" - I added to what I just said
"Lady Mila, is it possible if we take the route where monsters usually gather?" - Aesir asked which made me turn my gaze at her then back at Cain. I actually thought of that awhile ago while we are waiting for Cain to arrive. Actually, I think it is a wise decision to take that route because it is better if we are to encounter the monsters than the imperial knights. First reason is that surely the imperial knights would avoid at all cost the path of the monsters because they cannot afford any casualties.
And the four of us can actually perfectly handle swarm of monsters. But still, it will be quite dangerous for me to show my and my familiars abilities in front of Cain. First is he still does not know that Aesir and Alarick are my familiars and that they are the guardians of the spirit world and second is that he just know that I am hiding my abilities, if he knew that I could use light magic to purify the monsters it will be quite troublesome.
"I personally think that wouldn't be a good choice. Annisa Kaldrof's scent can attract monsters, that's the first reason why there are a lot monsters around the forest. And the only part of the forest that is free from monsters is that house because Azekien put a magic barrier around it. " - Cain suddenly said which made me clicked my tongue, so it is really impossible for us to take the most plausible route to avoid the imperial knights because although we could handle the monsters of course, if that young lady's scent can attract monsters it would still mean that we are going to fight until our way out and to our destination. Because of that the Imperial knights could also possibly be able to track us down.
And if the imperial knights going to patrol around the place is the one that is being led by my biological father then it is not impossible that they are going to sense that something is wrong. In my thirteen years of staying in that mansion I know that my biological father and brothers are not that stupid. Well, they are stupid when it comes to my case but if it is about the emperor they are not.
"Then we have to prepare to face the Imperial Knights and the monsters on our way out of the forest. " - I stated and I touched the virtual map and I swiped it back to the house where we are going to fetch Annisa Kaldrof. I tapped the map once again and as if on cue it doubled in size and right now it is not positioned on top of the table but it is on mid-air.
"As we take up this route, the four of us need to remember two things. First, avoid the Imperial Knights at all cost and Second Kill every monster that we see" - I emphasized and the three nod their heads. The two things that I just said are the most essential reminder I could give to them. If we are not going to kill every monster that we see then it would be troublesome because they could f-cking follow the young lady's scent and the Imperial knights are also quite troublesome for me.
I opened my mouth and I am about to say something when I remembered something. What the f-ck, if the young lady's scent is the problem then--
"Alarick, if I remember correctly you have a spell to make sure that the young lady's scent will be hidden right?" - I said as I turn my head towards Alarick and I saw him flinch and he slowly turn his gaze away from me.
I can't help but to slap my forehead because I forgot that Alarick has that damn spell, and that's why he has been quiet for the whole damn f-cking time.
"You thought that I will completely forget and you'll be saved from the trouble of casting a spell and getting to enjoy killing monsters right?" - I mind linked him and once again he flinched. This bastard really-- argh he is really annoying some times!
