Route 1: Preparations Part 2

**Third Person**

Scarlet Aubrielle summoned a magic circle on her hand which then shocked the knights that are right before her eyes. The reason why they are shocked is not because the lady could use magic but rather because of the color of her magic circle.

The knights of the Elvois are divided into three because some of them are already veterans on the field, some of them have been with the Elvois for quite some time but they are still far from being considered as veterans, and lastly the knights who are newly recruited in the duchy. However, despite how long they have been in the duchy they all have seen the powers, skills and abilities of the duke, the duchess and the future duke. Scarlet Aubrielle? Well, they have never witnessed her powers, skills and abilities.

However, the veteran knights have known the fact that the duke and the duchess are not yet ready to let the young lady to be immersed in using her magical abilities and that is because of what happened when she was still young that they have witnessed - they are one of those people who have did everything that they could in order to stop the magic power in her from consuming her whole.

It took them a long time before they could able to save the young lady from that state and they have witnessed how scared the duke and the duchess was for the first time. Well, the moment that they have already confirmed that the young lady is safe, that is the time that they have been relieved of course, who would be happy to lose such a young and sweet child. And so, they completely understand why they are too overprotective when it comes to the young lady to the point that she is not yet allowed to use her powers and that she is not given the permission to go out that easy or even to participate in the affairs of the duchy when it comes to subjugating monsters.

Based from tradition, the young lady should already be joining her brother so that she could be used to everything that her family is doing but then again, because of her condition she was completely exempted for that in a while and they have nothing against it because they too wants the lady to be safe, they really don’t care if she will not join the hunting every month or do not help in subjugating the monsters.

But, there is also another reason why they think so, and that is because they strongly believe that if the young lady is continuously exposed to mana particles and magic the sealed power inside her will once again awaken and that it may cause a disaster to the whole world. Although they weren’t able to identify what kind of power the young lady holds, they know for sure because of what happened when she was still young that it is a power that can freeze the whole world.

On the other hand, the knights who have been already in the duchy for quite some time has no clue about what happened when the young lady is still young however, they do understand that the reason why the Elvois doesn’t want the youngest child to join them is because they care for her well-being, that they know protecting a huge territory and eliminating numerous monsters is a pretty dangerous task. Also, they are the ones that Calyx Elvoi personally trained and they have seen how the young duke have cared for his sister’s well-being and they wish nothing but her safety as well because she doesn’t deserve being in the battlefield.

The knights who are just new in the duchy basically thinks that the young lady is just feigning weakness and that she is simply a spoiled brat that does not want to participate in the activities of the duchy, that the young lady simply wants to stay at home and just attend tea parties and the likes. But there is also one reason that they think why the duke and the duchess doesn’t want her to participate in the monthly hunt and that is because she cannot use magic - a completely worthless individual despite being an Elvoi.

However, right now all of them - most importantly the knights who are new in the duchy were more than shocked to witness the magic circle on the young lady’s hand. They cannot believe that she can use magic because all this time, they really have assumed and some of them even concluded that she simply cannot use magic which is the reason why she is being held inside the duchy and that her family is overprotective towards her.

The knights who have been in the duchy for quite some time now can’t also help but to be shocked but at the same time they are happy - happy because they weren’t wrong in the first place. That indeed, the young lady possess an ability as well that is unique just like what her family members have. What unique ability do they think that Scarlet Aubrielle has? Well, to be honest they really have no clue what it is however they had that conclusion right at the moment that they have seen and realized the color of her magic circle is.

They have been with the duke, duchess and the young duke Calyx for quite some time now and they have witnessed how they use their magical powers well specifically the duchess and the young duke. The two can wield the ice element and that their magic circle is just like how the skies are colored - light blue however the young lady, Scarlet Aubrielle is different. The young lady’s magic circle is the darkest shade of blue. A very unusual shade of magic circle - it is also too dark to be a water element and it is impossible for her to possess such an element because her father is the duke, a non-magic user and her mother is an ice magic elemental user. And they cannot say that the duchess could have another man because she has always been with the duke - they are honestly inseparable.

The veterans on the other hand are shocked, to the point that they were even about to take a step back because it is the same color of magic circle that they have seen when the young lady was about to go on a rampage due to her magic powers being uncontrollable. And right now, they really cannot believe what they see and at the same time they cannot help but to think of the possibility that the young lady could have controlled that dangerous power - however at the same time they have not seen that she has been trained by the duchess. There were no sight of them training to control that disastrous power inside her and so they were worried that something bad could actually happen and that they do not know if they can still handle taking care of that power if it once again went into a rampage.

“Snow Serpent” that is what they heard from the mouth of the young lady and all of them, especially Theo was shocked and that he is about to run towards the young lady to stop her from casting that spell when immediately the magic circle on the palm of her hand glowed strongly.

And just then, a snow serpent indeed appeared right before their eyes - a snow serpent that is different from the young duke and the duchess’ snow serpent - the color of it is dark blue and the moment it appeared, the ground where the young lady is standing up until a few meters before where the knights are positioned have turned into ice.

“I know that all of you are familiar with the snow serpent, basically it is a being that is formed with eyes using a specific magic spell that the Elvois, through the blood of my mother only knows. Well, some say that it is the familiar of my mother but that is not the case, because again it is simply a being that is created out of ice and that is given life to follow the orders of its summoner. With my current strength and abilities, I can keep this snow serpent alive for about a whole day and it can inflict about one fifty to two hundred damage to its target - quite weak to what mother and brother’s sea serpents can do, but I guess it is also not bad for a beginner like me.” that is what Scarlet said that made every knight’s jaws almost drop on the ground and they have one collective thought -

*“She is still calling herself a beginner when she already summoned a sea serpent?!”*

**Scarlet Aubrielle**

I am nervous - nervous because of the fact that these knights may not still view me as someone who can be trustworthy to lead the subjugation six days from now. Well, I know I have said that I really don’t care if a lot of knights will join me in the subjugation or I don’t care if no one comes to help me - except for Theo of course, because he is already given an order by my brother to come with me and guard me.

But whatever, let’s just get over this.

“Now that you have seen that I am able to summon a snow serpent I want you to decide right here and now if you are going to join me in my mission to subjugate the new dungeon that has appeared. Those who don’t plan on doing so, you may leave and continue what you were doing before my made, Elisha called you out here and those who will stay, I will give you a quick run down of the plan that I made and also give you instructions on how you are going to train in order to be prepared in entering the dungeon” that is what I said and as if on cue the knights started to move their head and they even talked to the one right beside them.

It was like they are having a discussion of their own and that is fine, I am kind of happy that they are really thinking about this thoroughly because again, I don not want to force any knight to join me in the battlefield, they have their freedom to decide on what is the best for them and I will respect that wholeheartedly.

I am not some kind of tyrant young lady of a ducal household nor I am the Scarlet Aubrielle that has already become the final boss of the game that wants nothing but revenge on those who have caused her pain and misery and she no longer cares if she will hurt innocent people.

“Now, those who have decided to join me - you may step forward and those who decided not to, then I respect your decision and you may now all leave” I said once again as I made the snow serpent that I summoned just stay beside me, well that is to prove that I am indeed able to keep it for such a long time and not just for a few minutes.

And just then, after a few seconds something unexpected happened which really surprised the hell out of me.
