I knew it would be painful but all I could think about was feeling him again, knowing this was real, that I really was back with him. He saved me again. After a moment, he smiled "Let's get out of this shower." He grabbed my hand and walked me out. He placed a towel on the floor and I walked onto it. I dramatically sucked in air and puffed out my cheeks. He chuckled silently wrapping his hands around me and sitting me on the towel. I tried hard not to flinch from the pain. He kissed the bruises on my wrists from the bindings moving up to the fingerprints on each arm. He took a sharp breath showing me this wasn't easy on him. He looked up at me kissing the bruises on my face. I closed my eyes and took it all in. He leaned in closer to me and I reacted to the pain. He stopped stepping back away from me. I grabbed his hand trying to pull him back "Please Joseph, you are kissing away all the memories, all the pain." He didn't say anything, leaning down to kiss the welts across my thighs. He ran his hands up to my hips and looked up into my eyes, "Can you lean back into the mirror baby?" I shook my head, yes slowly doing as he asked. After we both were well satisfied he put a loose gown on me and laid me in the bed. It wasn't as comfortable as the one at home, but it would do just fine. He covered me up well and allowed the rest to come and see me. Apparently, they had all sent messages checking on me. I smiled at them feeling so much better after the past hour. I thanked him grinning and telling him I missed my chef. Zeus brought me a comm so I could talk to them anytime I needed to, and Jay just smiled at me. Standing off in the corner. "Hey Jay, Thank you for coming to save me." He nodded and walked out with the rest of them. I took a couple of bites of the toast and drank the water. Joseph sat on the bed beside me. I knew he was trying to wait for me to fall asleep. "I know you have business Jo, You can go if you need to." He put his finger to his lips, "Smoke, Sunshine, from now on it's Smoke." I covered my mouth, I had been calling him Joseph. "It's okay darling, I do not trust the guy running this territory right now, just trying to be extra cautious." he also explained to me that he had made it a rule that no one was to bother me, even if I walk out of the room, they aren't even allowed to look up at me. "That's a bit much boss." He looked up at me softly grabbing my chin so I would look at him. "You have to understand that being with me is dangerous Sunshine." I smiled at him. "I know you will protect me." He looked me up and down, "Look at you darling, Look at how much he hurt you, on my watch. That will never happen again." He was still blaming himself.

"Stop it, stop blaming yourself, Smoke. Ryan hurt me because he is the monster. How can you not see how you saved me? How can you not see how you gave me my strength back? You touch me, Smoke, just your touch makes me feel complete peace. You want to blame yourself, blame yourself for me being strong enough to fight him. You gave me that back. Blame yourself for me gaining my control. You did that too. Stop blaming yourself for not being superhuman and able to stop a bullet. You're not made of steel, You are human." I pointed to his arm where he was shot "You did protect me, even when I was with him. I closed my eyes and I was with you." I was short of breath and tears were burning in my eyes. He stared at me without speaking. We sat there in silence for a while. Finally, he looked over at me and reached for my hand kissing it gently. He started rubbing his thumb across my wrist. "When I woke up, after the crash, and I knew you were gone, it almost killed me." He paused breathing in sharply. "I never felt anything after I left Ohio and let you go. Mason made me focus on work, and leave you in the past. I turned cold, Sand, I didn't care about anything." I looked at him and shook my head. "You care about Zeus, and Henry, and your brotherhood." He smiled at me and told me it was his turn to talk. "I do, but I never opened myself up to care about anything until we took you. Until I found myself wanting to save you. I cared about the work before. Not so much about the people. You have to understand I have done some horrible things too. I have a monster inside of me as well." He looked away and I squeezed his hand. "You have darkness, but everyone does Smoke. I have seen it, and I understand it. It comes from a place of survival, a place of strength." He looked into my eyes. "Understand this Sandra, my monster cares for you just as much as I do. We will protect you. We will keep you beside us. We will take care of you. Don't you see? I wanted you before I remembered Ohio. I wanted you before the movies. I was drawn to you. Now I can't imagine anything different." He leaned closer and kissed my lips. "I want to keep you. I want you to be my goddess. I want them to bow to you and fear any repercussions of anything harming you, or even upsetting you." He kissed me again.

"I want you to be mine." He kissed me harder. "I am yours smoke, I always have been." He smiled at me with fire in his eyes. "Then they will look down baby when you walk if I tell them to." He smirked. I rolled over towards him and smiled. "Yes, Boss." I breathed. I closed my eyes while he ran his hand up and down my bare arm. I could feel myself drifting off to sleep. He started to get up and stopped, leaning over to my ear. "I love you my Sunshine." Did he think I was asleep? I didn't budge. He kissed me softly on the cheek, covered me, and walked out of the room locking the door behind him.
