When I woke up I was alone. I looked around the room, but Joseph wasn't in there with me. I went to look for my comm and it wasn't there. What the hell did he do with it? I rolled my eyes and headed to the shower. The water was refreshing and warm waking me up some to prepare me for my day. I walked out onto a towel and towel-dried my hair. It definitely should be hair dryed but I wasn't in the mood to do that. I braided it and threw it over my shoulder. I put in a tank and some shorts and started towards the kitchen area. There was coffee hot in the pot, so at least he did leave me some of that. I grabbed a mug hanging on the rack. I added some coffee, sugar, creamer, and an ice cube. I pulled out my phone as I enjoyed the hot beverage. I had a message from Tanya apologizing again, telling me Zeus never came to their room last night. I didn't respond. I wasn't ready to speak to her yet. Henry messaged me telling me Takara was doing better, and he sent me her number. I added the contact but decided it wasn't a good idea to get ahold of her unless I knew that she was up to it. The last message was from Joseph telling me to get dressed and ready to go to the country house with Henry. I am not leaving without him. My heart starts pounding as I rush to get my shoes on and head to the office. I sent a message letting him know I won't be leaving without him, not again. Before I could get out the door, I heard it open. "Sunshine I need you to listen to me." He said before I could open my mouth to speak. I shook my head no and held my hand up in the air. "You are going to the country with the other two women." He said in a deep voice. Though I love the voice, I was most definitely not obeying it. "I'm not. You said you wouldn't do that to me again." I said sternly in response. He stood there for a minute breathing deeply. I could tell he was in some pain. "Listen to me Sunshine, please. We got word that Tommasso was going to come straight here to talk to me. I don't know when, or how many men he will bring, but I don't want you guys here when he comes." He sounded afraid. Why was he afraid of this guy? Fear of him is a first for me.

"I will stay in this room, you can lock me in the office, but I am not leaving you alone here my king. I won't go all the way out in the damn wilderness not knowing if you were safe." I pouted shaking my head no repeatedly. "I wont be in danger Sunshine, I promise." He said. "Jay said he has an army coming here to protect me." I looked up at him and walked closer after finishing my last tie on my shoes. "Then they will protect me too." I leaned up and kissed him. He growled at me. He started to pace and shake his head. He was almost arguing with himself. I could tell it went against everything he believed to let me stay. "Sunshine." He said finally looking at me after a few minutes of walking in circles. "Fucking fine. You will stay in this room. You will promise me." He said not giving me a choice. I tried not to smile too big at getting what I wanted but I couldn't control it. He walked over to me, grabbing me tight on the shoulders, "Promise," I nodded slowly looking into his eyes. "Say it." He was smirking now. "I promise, boss," I said feeling some darkness boil up inside of me. He kissed me hard, pushing me hard against the wall behind me. It took my breath away, leaving me gasping as he reached me a comm, and walked back towards the door. "You will have an army outside of this door, Stay here." He sounded so sexy when his boss's voice came out. "I love you my Sunshine." He said. My heart warmed and my legs felt weak as he said it. I wanted him so badly at that moment but I knew this wasn't the time. Still, I licked my lips and bit my bottom lip, enticing him. "I love you too, boss," I said in my most sultry, and soft voice. He stopped in his tracks, walked back towards me, and pulled me to him. "I will take you with the whole world exploding beyond this door." He whispered in a husky voice into my ear before biting into my neck making me moan, covering me in goosebumps. He then chuckled and said "Gotcha" before leaving me alone and frustrated in damp panties.

After he walked out I poured myself a drink and slid my comm in my ear. I could hear them all talking. Some voices I recognized and some I did not. "What's up, boys," I said quickly ensuring that I was being heard. "Hey Sunshine, How are you today?" I heard Jay first. He sounded unusually excited which told me this was serious. The man thrives in chaos. He is in his element preparing for this new enemy. "Hey Jay, keep our family safe, will ya?" I said to feed his confidence. "Always do." He gave me the exact response I expected. Next, I heard Zeus, "Hey Sis, why can you never just follow directions?" He said I assume because Joseph told him I refused to leave. "Ha, well that would make life boring, would it not?" I said, again trying to lighten the mood. He chuckled. "I suppose so queen." I waited to hear Henry but I hadn't heard his voice. I heard Joseph telling probably ten different men to come and guard my door. I rolled my eyes and sighed, which he also caught on to. "I heard that Sunshine, roll them eyes baby, I will use an army to keep you safe." I laughed out loud. "I don't agree with them being right outside the door boss. If they do try to invade, they will know we are hiding something precious behind all the guards." There he was. Henry. "The chef makes a point," said Jay. "The code would be hard enough to break." There is Zeus. I giggled. Joseph didn't say anything for a moment. "You are right brothers. I will space them out throughout the long hall, but they will focus on that door." Everyone agreed with that. I walked over and laid back on the small loveseat in the little living room area. I enjoyed listening to them, even if they kept locked up in my repunzel tower.

I heard Jay giving different orders to different groups. Henry decided to stay using two guards to take Tanya back out to the safe house. Joseph has made about 30 different phone calls to surrounding territory leaders and members. He has also talked to some of the payroll police deputies he knows. They are watching for the peak crew vehicles to cross into the city, from what I can pick up. Zeus is getting weapons all ready in case there is a shooting. I can hear clicks and metal scraping. Henry is making a meal to feed the army that has arrived. "I would like to come and see if this is as impressive as it sounds," I asked softly waiting for someone to hear me. All at once, I heard "No." coming from each man with a comm. "Hmmph!" I pouted, knowing they were right and I was safer where I was. I listened to them all planning, together, and then with other men outside. I was so impressed to hear them. They were supportive of one another's ideas the whole time. This inner circle, as they call it, is truly the soul of this operation they have here. It was like listening to a well-oiled machine run. I listened and closed my eyes. It was strange to me how it relaxed me so much to listen to this chaos. Maybe it was because of the particular voices and how safe they made me feel. In reality, it sounded like World War 3 was coming but I felt more protected than anyone. "You guys are awesome," I said letting my inside thoughts spill out of my mouth. I heard a few chuckles. Henry agreed with me instantly calling himself something like "Super Chef" which I fully agreed with telling him he had found his superhero name. Zeus told Henry he was a dork but also added that he knew he was a badass. These guys were not lacking in confidence. I thought about what the others must think, the ones not wearing a comm. Well, not one on my frequency anyway.

We laughed and talked until suddenly all comms went quiet. "He is headed this way." I heard Joseph say assuming he got word from someone he called earlier. Now everyone was serious, hush-hush, and determined. I didn't say anything else, just listened. I heard someone say a car had pulled up. Only three got out of it. One man and two guards. Joseph told the army he had hiding to be on standby. When Jay answered the door all I heard was, "I am here to speak with the leader, Smoke?"
