They all left me here, in this fucking SUV, while they go to help Henry. I watch the darkness thinking how stupid they could be to leave me here without one of them to protect me. He got out and decided to face the cold rather than listen to me run my mouth. I cannot believe he left me here, we are supposed to be a team, all that what is a king without his queen bullshit. I am so mad at all of them. I thought we had gotten past all of this stupid shit. I will tell them to drop me off in town and leave me there. All the threats to me are now dead. I Sat there seething looking into the darkness. I couldn't see or hear anything. The city guard got a call and jumped in the car heading for the house. He was flying telling me something was wrong. "what happened?" I asked screaming at him. "listen ma'am I can't tell you anything." He yelled back at me this time telling me something was definitely wrong. "I am supposed to be the fucking queen, you can tell me anything." He looked saddened at my response. "What's wrong with Smoke?" I said again now frantic. "Someone was shot, but they didn't tell me who." My heart started pounding, and I couldn't get any air. I started crying uncontrollably. Hyperventilating. "Please hurry, I need to know he is okay," I yelled at the man driving, the words like lava burning in my throat. He nodded and I felt him increase the speed. I tried calling all of their phones over and over, and nobody responded. What if one of them was killed? What if Joseph was gone? How would I survive now, without my king, without my air? I looked out the window and saw the lights shining at the top of a driveway.

When we pulled up to the house, it was eerily quiet. I jumped out of the car and started to scream out names. "SMOKE! HENRY! JAY!" I ran towards the door. Before I could scream out Zeus he had his arms around me carrying me back down towards the SUV. I heard him cuss at the man that was driving telling him he told him to keep me the fuck away from the safe house. "Where is he Z? Tell me he is okay. Tell me we are whole?" I was still sobbing heavily. He looked down at me with pity, and I crumbled to the ground. "He is alive Sunshine, but he is in bad shape. Henry is okay, and the girl. Jay is getting him ready to transport to the doctor." He said calmly. I watched his eyes get misty. "Is he awake?" I asked terrified of the answer. He nodded, "In and out sis, but he has been asking for you. Well, he keeps telling you he is sorry." He said. The term of endearment was new, but I was too upset to fully appreciate its meaning at the time. "Please Z, Please let me see him," I said squeezing his arm. Hearing a noise from the house I saw Henry walk out with a thin girl wrapped in a blanket. " We can't let you go in there Sunshine," Henry said when he got close. I threw my arms around him and held him tightly, "Oh Chef, I am so so sorry. Are you okay? What did they do to you? Did she turn you in?" Before he answered, I lunged at her, "You stupid bitch, I sent him to save you." I screamed. It took both Henry and Zeus to pull me away. "Sunshine she didn't do anything. If it weren't for her I would surely be dead." I looked over at her, shaking, before awkwardly apologizing. She smiled at me telling me she understood before tearing up and hugging me tight, "Oh Li...Sunshine, I missed you so much. I can't believe you found me. I tried to keep Luca from shooting him, and I couldn't. I wasn't fast enough. He fell to the ground and I heard another gunshot. And then the other three came in," she looked at Henry and Zeus, "they took him down and he is dead now." She said but I could see the terror in her eyes. The horror of what she had just witnessed. I held her and we cried together.

I saw Jay coming out with a homemade stretcher with Five holding the other side. I started to run towards it feeling Zeus grab my arm. "Let me go!" I say coldly turning to face him. "You can't block them sis, they have to get him in the SUV. Then you can sit with him." He said slowly and calmly. I cleared my eyes and wiped my face. I couldn't let him see me this upset. I told Takara to ride with Henry and the city guards in the other SUV and I will see her soon, kissed her cheek, and told Henry to get her where it was warm. I had to straighten up and be his queen. No more tears. I got inside the vehicle so I wouldn't be in the way and Zeus waited to help. When they started to help him stand, he almost collapsed. "Jo," I said immediately seeing him open his eyes and stand straighter. "You have to let them get you to the doc, or I am taking you straight to the hospital" He smirked at me but started waking up some. Jay's eyes got wide and he looked at me with a slight smile. Once they had him in I could smell the blood before I could see it. I had to hold back a scream. "Hold this tightly on his stomach Sunshine," Jay said sternly. I nodded and placed my hand on it as hard as I could, He grunted. "I'm sorry Jo, I am so sorry." He looked over at me and smiled, placing a bloody hand on my cheek, "You don't have to apologize to me for anything beautiful girl." He said almost silently, not able to speak loudly. "Don't talk boss, sit still, and keep your strength," Jay ordered from the front seat. Joseph closed his eyes again. I leaned up and kissed his cheek, trying to keep the tears from rolling down my face. I leaned to his ear and whispered, "You can't leave me now Joseph. I know you think you are a bad man, but you aren't. In my story you saved me, you are my hero. My peace. My painkiller. You brought me back to life and I don't want to live without you." The tears started to flow slowly out of my eyes. "Please." He slowly moved his hand over mine and gripped it slightly.

He was weakened."Did he suffer?" I asked Jay talking about Luca. He laughed, but in a muderous way. "He was unrecognizable. The cleaners will come and blow the house. It will go down as a gas leak." I could tell he was proud of the teams extraction and assasination. "If he would have waited, but he didnt, wanted to keep everyone safe." Jay trailed off. "Jay this isnt anyones fault, but the man who already met his end." I said quietly. I looked at Joseph noticing his face was getting pale. "His face is changing" I yelled now getting scared again. I watched his chest rise and fall slowly. "Joseph?" I said trying to get him to react. He didnt. "I dont think he is concious Jay." I said now shaking. Jay told me to slap him, hard, on his cheek. I used one hand to do so making sure not to let go of the bandages on his stomach. HIs eyes flutter, and I tell Jay. I try again, and he opens them. "Tell Sandra I am sorry I didnt take her with me. I am sorry I did this." he said softly staring off into space. "Hes hallucinating." Jay says for the first time I can hear the fear in his voice. I also feel an acceleration in the car. Looking at him I notice he has something on his face, its blood from my hand making me look down at the bandages. They were soaked. "Hes bleeding a lot back here." I could feel panic coming back full force. "JAY I CANT LOSE HIM." I start to sob again. Jay turns on the light overhead in the car telling me to watch for blueness in his lips. His lips were pale, but not blue. I let Jay know and he seems to relax some telling me blue lips is a bad thing. I sit there, praying, and crying. He still doesnt seem to be concious.

"We are pulling up to the doctors building now Sand, he is going to be okay." Jay said trying to calm me down. My eyes hurt and my throat felt raw while I tried to readjust my body. I leaned up to kiss Joseph on the lips and noticed his lips were cold and his skin was clammy. I jerked back and looked at him seeing that his lips were turning blue, and his breathing seemed irregular. I started screaming and shaking him, "No Joseph, please wake up, Please wake up. Dont leave me. A queen is nothing without her king." I didnt even feel Jay stop the car or get out. Suddenly I had arms on me, heard voices I didnt recognize, and saw flashlights and shadows. "Sunshine, You have to let them take him." I hadnt noticed I was gripping him so tightly when Henry and Zeus were trying to get me to let go. "I have to take him now sweetheart, I need you to let him go." When someone put their hands on my arms to pull me back I heard Zeus yell, "Dont fucking touch her!" Before putting his hand on mine. "Look at me sis, look at me." He said softly and I looked up into his eyes. "They have to take him to save his life." He said straight out without sugarcoating it. So I let go. We all watched as they slid him on a roll bed, and started moving him towards the front door. They stopped and the doctor walked towards his head, putting his hands on his chest, before yelling some kind of color. I heard Jay mumble, "He stopped breathing."
