Smell the Flowers

We walked out of the house, Five close behind us. I watched Tanya nervously looking back at him. "Jay is my guard," I said smiling at her. "Five, How long have you worked for Smoke?" I looked back at him. You have to humanize them, it makes them less intimidating. "I would say 7 years ma'am" He replied. I smiled. Joseph does take good care of his country house guards. " You must be very trusted to be here." I acknowledged, showing him I knew he was important here. "Yes ma'am, I used to travel with Mighty." He said, his voice fell some at the name. I stopped and turned to face him, "I am so sorry for your loss." I looked up at his face. He wasn't very old, maybe around the same age as Henry. He had soft features, green eyes, and rust-colored hair on his head and face. He was a good-looking man. I am starting to think that is the requirement around here, not being a psychic. "Thank you, ma'am." He said softly looking away from me. That was one too many ma'ams for me. "I am Sandra, you can call me that. This is Tanya." I said giggling. He didn't laugh. Tanya smiled at him, "You can call me Tanya." She said shyly. He nodded. We turned back towards the greenhouses both giggling together. When we reached the door I hid the security pad, not sure that Joseph would want her to know the code. I heard her gasp as we walked inside. It was beautiful. I felt my face getting warm remembering the last time I was in here. I had never had someone make me feel the way he does. Last night was one of the most intense set of orgasms I have ever had. Something about him dominating me made me feel more controlled. More aware. I know if I stop him, he will stop. I know if I am uncomfortable with something, he will stop. I watched as Tanya walked around the flowers much like I had when I first came inside. She was a bit slower with her crutches, but she was healing fast. "What did the doctor tell you when he came?" I asked her startling her. She was mentally not with me. "Ummm.." She said coming back to earth. "The doctor?" I asked again. She walked closer to me before giggling, "He was strange." I shook my head in agreement, he was a weird man. He was very kind to me the times he had come. "He told me my eye would be okay, the bone in my leg was healing well. He said to take the meds he gave me twice a day." She looked down at her cast, "Oh and to use the crutches until I saw him again." I told her that was great news. I walked over to a set of daisies and plucked off a few of the dead ones. "What about Zeus?" I said softly, not wanting to be too loud with the personal stuff. She sighed deeply, "He is like a real God Sandy." I flinched when she said that name. "Sandra," I said firmly. She nodded and apologized. She had heard Ryan call me Sandy so much that she latched onto it. "Zeus is amazing. He helped me shower this morning without taking the cast off. He made sure I was completely comfortable before he went to sleep last night. Sandra, he is like my white knight. At the hospital, he took all my pain away." I watched as she shivered while she said it. I felt my heart skip, she said it out loud. It wasn't just me. Joseph took my pain away as well. Maybe I'm not as broken as I feel most times. "I completely get it Tawn, believe me." We sat out there for about an hour dead heading and pulling weeds out of all the flowers. Tanya kept up well considering the shape she was in. I could finally see her other eye when she looked at me. I yelled for Five to help her back to the house. He came and picked her up while I locked the greenhouse back up. When we got to the house we were both laughing. She was telling him she didn't want her precious feet to hit the dirty grass like she was some kind of fancy lady.

Zeus quickly appeared on the porch. He shot Five a look making him instantly sit Tanya back down, erasing the smile from his face. It bugged me. "I asked him to carry her, her leg was tired," I said sharply. Zeus looked at me with irritation in his eyes. "Next time call for me queen." I shrugged walking towards him. "Don't you be rude to me mister? Five is a good guard. You're being irrational." I said poking him in the side. I watched him relax some before poking me back. "I'm sorry Sandra. Jealousy is new to me." He said quietly. I nodded at him, winked, and we all walked back in. I heard him apologize to Five as well. Tanya was blushing. When we got inside I looked around for Joseph. He was in his office with Jay, and Henry. They already had gotten their hands on a blueprint of Luca's place. It looked huge. "Hey Sunshine, how was your flowers?" Henry asked noticing me walk in. "Those aren't my flowers bub, I am just lucky enough to be able to take care of them," I said smiling towards Joseph. He still hadn't looked up. I sat down in my chair by his desk and lifted my eyebrow at the others. "Smoke is talking with the other leaders, We are setting up a family meeting tomorrow in the city house." Jay leaned over to tell me quietly. This told me why he looked so tense. "You will be there at the fucking time I tell you to be." I finally heard him speak. It wasn't his happy voice. It was the other one. I reached for his hand and he instinctively pulled it away. When he noticed it was me I saw his face fall, he felt guilty. He reached for me pulling me out of my chair and onto his lap. He pulled his earbud out and whispered to me. "I'm sorry beautiful, these meetings always put me on edge." He put his earbud back in. I ran my fingers up and down his arm watching his hair stand and fall. "So are we going to the city?" I heard Tanya ask Zeus. He nodded yes. She looked over at me with worry in her eyes. I remember that feeling well too. The country felt like a haven. The city house is in chaos. "I got you" I mouthed creating a small smile in place of the worry.

Henry held up a paper with scribbles on it steve urkel couldn't see with his thick ass glasses. "What is that?" I said quietly. "The plan." He yelled out. I felt Joseph tense. He looked up giving Henry a scolding look. He just silently laughed and looked back down to his plan. I shook my head and started to stand up. He wrapped his arm around my wasted not allowing me to move. "Jay," I whispered. He looked up at me. I used my hand in the shape of a cup asking him to get me a drink. He smiled shaking his head at me and left to the kitchen, coming back shortly after reaching me a water bottle. I took a long drink listening to Joseph arguing with the other leaders. Some didn't want to change their plans for his meeting. Pan was one of them. He was angry. I could hear his muffled complaints. I wanted to grab the earpiece and tell them to shut up. "I am telling you all if someone doesn't show, I will visit their territory myself. Ask Ark how that goes." He said coldly. He told Pan to bring Candy, before ending his call on the computer. I looked back at him, this time getting a smile. He leaned down and kissed my lips softly. "How was the greenhouse darling?" He asked. Everyone laughed. "Well we already discussed it, my king, but it was beautiful. I thought of you." I said smiling at him. He took a deep breath squeezing me closer to him. He looked around the room looking for Five. He told Zeus to bring him in. After he was in there, he addressed the entire room. He told us that the meeting may get a little violent. Some people seemed to be questioning his position. He told Five he wanted him to watch Tanya and me the entire time. Much like Jay used to. He looked to Jay, "I know you are her guardian brother, but tomorrow I will need you to be mine." Jay looked up at him and nodded. His face is serious and stern. He was ready.

I was watching the guys all talk but wasn't listening. I laid my head down on Joseph's chest listening to the melody of his heartbeat. My favorite song. I closed my eyes and focused on the sound. In the distance, I heard someone calling my name. "Sunshine, are you listening?" Henry yelled. I jumped, startled, and sat back up. I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. I looked up at Joseph and smiled. "I wasn't listening Henry I'm sorry," I said softly trying to wake myself up. He laughed at me shaking his head. "Don't be sorry silly. I just don't want you to miss this." He said holding up his scribbles again. I tried to stand up again, feeling Jospeh squeeze me tighter to him. "Smoke, Can I sit in my chair?" I giggled. He shook his head no. I sighed. "I am much too relaxed here boss," I said pouting. He kissed my forehead and helped me stand. I walked over and grabbed the scribbles before sitting down in my chair. I looked at the paper, probably tilting my head slightly trying to read it. Henry definitely did not carry great penmanship. "Henry my dear, what the actual hell is this supposed to say?" I said shaking my head and reaching it to him. Joseph and Zeus both laughed as Henry stood to take it. He walked over to me kneeling.

"It says.." He said rolling his eyes and pointing to the top. "Ways to save our Sunshine's friend."
