I woke up to someone knocking at my door. I picked up my comm, turned it on, and put it back in my ear. "Are you guys outside the door?" No answer. I took a deep breath and looked down at my phone. I dialed Joseph's number and listened to it ring. "Hello Sunshine, are you okay?" He sounded worried immediately when he answered. I told him about the knock on the door and he told Jay to get ahold of the guard. "I will be there in minutes darling, do not open the door." I sat down on the bed. I looked down at my hands watching the way they trembled. It angered me. How could he take all the strength I had gained back and just strip it away from me? I walked towards the door and opened it. "Can I help you?" The man looked down to the floor. "We just noticed your guard had gone and wanted to be sure you were okay ma'am," I told him I was fine. He turned quickly walking away. I glanced over towards the hall to the rooms and saw Joseph leaning against the wall smiling. He started walking towards me. "Hello Sunshine, I thought I said not to open the door?" he smirked at me walking past me into the room. I shut the door following him to the bedroom. "I am sick of feeling scared again, I wasn't scared anymore Smoke. Now Im jumpy and shakey, it's quite honestly annoying." He laughed at me. I glared at him rolling my eyes and he growled at me. "I don't want you to be afraid darling, But you need to be cautious. Being afraid after everything you went through in that 24 hours with him, is normal. I only want to ensure that you are safe." he walked over and traced my lip with his thumb. "When all of these injuries disappear, and so does Ryan, I never want to see you with them again. When I tell you something in a house that isn't the country house, You need to listen to me. Not because I want to be your boss, but because I want to keep you safe." He was talking softly. I smiled at him. "I just don't want to be a damsel forever boss." I grinned at him. He pulled me to him, put his mouth to my ear, and whispered "You're not a damsel, my Sunshine, I am teaching you to be my queen." I felt the chills again down my spine. As soon as I looked up at him he put his lips on mine, using his tongue to explore my mouth. I moaned into his mouth and wrapped my arms around his neck. When he pulled away he smiled, "I love you Sunshine." I was breathless but managed to mouth I love you too boss.

We stood there staring at each other in silence, Finally, he spoke, "I want to bring Jay into the inner circle as more than just a guard." I was surprised by what he chose to say. I tilted my head slightly, "Ok." He told me he wanted my opinion. He said he hadn't brought the others in on the idea yet but he wanted to know if I thought it would be a good idea. "Well, I trust Two with my life, I think he would be a great addition to your counsel. He says little but his words are impactful and important." He smiled pointing to my forehead, "I do believe the mechanics in there, in that beautiful brain of yours, is your most sexy attribute." I made a dramatic shocked face putting my hand over my mouth. He laughed. "Can I leave this room for a while, I am getting Claustorphobic with these small walls boss." He shook his head at me but said we could go for a walk. He helped me put my tennis shoes on and we walked towards the door. I looked around and saw no faces, everyone was looking toward the floor until I saw a big grin on Henry's face. "Look at you Sunshine, up and at it already, you are the strongest woman alive." I giggled at him squeezing his arm. "We are going for a walk Mr. Chef, would you like to go?" He looked up at Smoke before finally shaking his head yes. Joseph called for Zeus and Jay. They were questioning the guard for leaving my door. I informed them that everyone needed to potty, except for Jay who is a superhero. He blushed as he came up the side. We walked out the front door. The cold evening air almost took my breath away. It wasn't busy and trashy around the north house but there is definitely something off about it. We walked down a sidewalk that wrapped around the outside of the building. It wasn't as big as the country house or the city house, but it wasn't really small either. Every time someone was walking by they put their eyes down. "It's a little weird fellas, no one wants to check me out, it's giving me a complex." They all laughed. "Sunshine, if they check you out Smoke will remove their eyeballs, I suppose they like having eyes" Zeus shrugged and we all started laughing. I felt Joseph wrap his arm around my shoulder as we continued to walk slowly. It was nice to just walk around feeling normal for a while. I watched as they all kept pulling out their phone. I looked over at Joseph. He must have seen the questions in my eyes, he leaned his head down whispering in my ear, "About Jay." I couldn't help but smile. I like Jay.

When we got a safe distance away from where we wouldn't be dealing with ears, I got to watch the process of bringing someone inside. They all stopped by a tall tree. Joseph helped me sit down on a log sitting against. Then they all turned to Jay. He looked at them curiously, maybe even with a touch of intimidation. Zeus spoke first. "Two, I am pretty sure you have been with the brotherhood as a guard for as long if not longer than I have. You have always stayed loyal to us, always watching our backs. Now you guard the woman with such honor, We would be honored if you would join us in the brotherhood." He looked confused and started to open his mouth Henry stopped him, "Don't say anything yet bro, I know you are used to guarding Sunshine here, and we are all, especially the boss, so appreciative of that. if you do decide to join us we will still make that priority as we trust no one else to protect her if we are not around, or if she is alone." he didn't speak out this time but I see the wheels turning as I glanced him. I winked at him slowly giving one nod. "Mr. Smoke, I am... Joseph put his hands up, "I understand that this isn't an easy decision, You don't have to answer right now but I would be honored to hear that you have chosen to join us, It's not often someone gets straight to me, I believe you are a perfect fit." Joseph walked towards him reaching for his hand. Jay reached out his hand shaking firmly, "Yes, boss, I will join your inner circle." Everyone was ecstatic to have Jay as an official member. I watched as they patted him on the back and shook his hand. I couldn't help but wonder if that's the first time he has felt like he fit somewhere. *Me too, Jay, Me too*
I watched as Joseph reached him something small, he looked up and asked him what he wanted his brotherhood name to be. "It's a name for a fresh beginning. A name to be remembered, it's a name to keep you and yours protected. He looked up at us and almost chuckled. "How about Jay?" It took the guys a minute to understand but I saw the humor in his eyes.

"JAY ISN'T YOUR REAL NAME!" It came out louder than I meant to. He shrugged and started to laugh and we all laughed with him. "Jay seems like a perfect name for you" Joseph smiled. I giggled and they all looked at me. "I was thinking Hulk." Jay was almost belly laughing, but in the end, they stuck with Jay. I liked Jay.
