POV - Kallen
“I’m taking her back to the pack house. Get this cleaned up and take the wounded to the hospital.” Dad told us while he carried our sleeping mate like she was his actual little girl. She was definitely his daughter now; Black Moon was going to feel his wrath. I almost slightly felt sorry for them, only almost slightly. As Stuart and I were chomping at the bit to get our jaws back around Milton. And this time he was going to wish he was dead. We looked over all the dead rogues and other attackers being taken to the prison. Where Uncle Tony was already punishing Black Moon Members for their hand in what took place. Those of age and older were his to deal with anyway he saw fit, those underage were put in a different part of the prison. That’s where we were headed as being the same age, we are able to handle the punishment physically that others weren’t. Stuart was making one of them scream like a little girl, while Uncle Tony was making an adult do the same. You could hear the echoes of their screams bouncing throughout that prison.
“Well, which of you idiots is going to talk about what happened out there first?” I said as Stuart just stood there silently after he finished. Which meant that someone in here was going to wish they’d answered my question. I went to work on one of the assholes who had picked her up. While Stuart went over to the other. Wade was already working over the asshole that knocked him away from Kai-Lea. He of all of us was angry as she is his future Luna, it is his job to protect her. Wade could be a huge pain in the ass and a goof off sometimes. But when it comes to his job as the next Beta in this pack, he can out serious us any day. Our Dad has even gone so far as to tell us we could take a page from Wade’s book. Not that he means any harm by it, just that he knows that Wade has Alpha blood. Wade’s Mother is of alpha blood about three generations back, so he is literally the only person outside of our Father and Uncles that spar with us when we are like this. And he could be an Alpha if he really wanted to be, but Wade has never wanted that. Or so he claims. We were born to be Alphas literally; Stuart and I don’t get that choice he does. But Wade insists that he is only a Beta. I think his Father wishes he’d go for being Alpha but knows that isn’t what his son wants.
After too long Stuart’s prisoner was huddled into a corner begging for him to stop, while mine was unconscious and Wade’s son was black, blue, and bloody. We took a break and headed to our Father’s office. I'm not sure which one I felt sorry for the most. The two Stuart worked over, Wade’s or mine. Mine was going to be dead last, because I was thinking about how they knew where to attack.
“Black Moon knows what she is. That’s why they were coming after her.” Wade said.
“She is to have guards with her everywhere she goes.” I said.
“It’s a good thing she is more over her car sickness.” Dad said, Stuart and I knew where he was headed with that. And that wasn’t happening, she wasn’t being punished over this.
“No, that’s not going to happen. We aren’t taking something from her. She enjoys walking to and from school. So, no we aren’t taking that from her. We can manage being escorted to and from those days just switching it around.” Stuart said. With myself in full agreement. We weren’t taking that from her.
“Fair enough. I never want to see tears in her eyes, with cuts or bruises ever again boys.” Dad said.
“Yes, Sir.” All three of us said. With that we left and went straight to Kai-Lea’s room. Once there, Wade stopped at the door, still beating himself up. “Wade, stop, she's fine.” we told him.
Knowing it wasn’t going to be that easy.
“This time. What if next time I’m stupid enough to let someone else get a jump on me. And take her wherever.” he said.
“And next time we will be ready. So will she. She is going to start training with you and us.” I told him.
Stuart agreed, “Alright.” We turned and walked into her room to find her sleeping, her neck was covered in bruises, as if she had gotten them weeks ago. Wade could barely look at her. After watching her for a few minutes we went back down the stairs.
“I’m sorry Alphas, it will never happen again.”
“We know, son. She does too.” his Dad said.
“Father.” He said. From the outside looking in at them you’d think that his father was a strict, cruel man. But that couldn’t further from the truth. When not talking about pack business like this they make each other laugh, cry, they horse around so much sometimes it takes his mother actually intervening just to stop it, or something gets broke. Once Wade broke his Dad’s nose. And he calls him Dad, not Father. Right now, it’s cause he’s pissed at himself. And with how he was feeling right now there was a guarantee of him being serious.
“You don’t honestly believe that I’ve not had my fair share of screw ups at your age. Do you?” he asked Wade.
“No. But none that could’ve meant the loss of your future Luna.”
“I take it that means that you never told them about my ex-boyfriend.” Our Mom said, causing Dad growling until she was close enough for him to grab her up. As he snuggled his face into her mark and breathed deeply, she giggled and calmed him down.
“No, we haven’t.” Dad admitted.
“Well, my ex wasn't the nicest of guys. In fact, he was just as bad as Milton Taylor. He wanted me as his. And he didn’t care who he had to kill in order to make it happen. Unfortunately, his death toll had only got to five before your Father, my brave mate took care of him. I was just starting the garden out back; this was long before you boys were born. In fact, it was just after I had moved here with your Father that I was out there. Your Father, Wade was watching me, however he needed to relieve himself. And in that same split moment my ex showed up. He grabbed me and held me hostage for two weeks trying to find a witch to remove your Father's mark.”
“No way?” Wade and myself asked shocked.
