POV - Stuart
“And they wonder why we call them nerds.” Kallen said. I just shook my head; he wasn’t wrong but for some reason they both felt the need to feel offended every time we called them that. It’s a good thing she’d our mate otherwise I'd worry for Dad’s company. Not that we’d ruin Dad’s company just that we weren’t into tech the way she is. Before taking over for Grandpa, he worked for Grandpa’s agriculture science company, although Dad let Uncle Danny take it over cause that was just not his specialty. Thankfully with our pack being the royal one, we have multiple different companies that we could run to be the next company we pass down and we have financial stakes in the billions.
“I… I have no words for your Father. But I think we know who is going to be his pick for the CEO and COO of the company while the two of you are Alphas.” Mom said.
“We have no problems with that. She has way too much fun going back and forth with Dad.” I responded with a chuckle. Which everyone loved.
“Not as much fun as your Father. To finally have a child in his care like him. Is… well you know your Father.” She said, feeling slightly bad for making her statement.
“Mom its fine know. And we are just fine because living up to that man for that it hard and for us to be that was never going to happen.”
“Milton called, Mom. He is going to be here in two weeks to apologize.” Kallen said.
“If you and your Father feel it’s best for the pack then so be it.” She answered anger in her voice that Dad hadn’t said anything to her yet. Or at least shared his plans. She hated Milton I think more than anyone else other than maybe my brother and I did. While she has never said what exactly she caught him doing to our mate. We know that whatever it was had caused her to be very overprotective around Kai-Lea when she’s around other males that aren’t in our pack. If our Mother was solely in charge of everything, she’d send my brother and I to an all-boys school, while Kai-Lea and our sisters to an all-girls school. “Hehe.” I laughed a little bit at this thought.
“What?” Kallen asked me.
“Oh… nothing, just thinking about how if Mom here had her way, then we’d be at either an all-boys and all-girls school or not at all.” I said out loud.
“You are not wrong, son. But I am alright with the school you go to. Granted that’s mostly because you both, Kai-Lea, Wade, and more about to graduate. And I couldn’t be prouder.” She said.
“Let’s go look over those reports for Dad, while he’s nerding out.”
“Sounds good to me. You good, Mom?”
“Yeah, sweeties. I’m good, go.” She said, nodding her head in the direction we were going. She went to finish organizing something she has coming up. Kallen and I then headed to the office to get started on everything. Having already learned how to share the space with our Father we knew it would be better if the office became entirely ours. Granted after learning Little mate has more mates out there we realized this may not be big enough after all. But we’d worry about that when they time came.
It was while going over the reports we noticed that more than a few patrol warriors had seen the same strange man poking around the perimeter. Never fully getting to it and never trying to cross it. They each stated that it seemed as if this person was trying to find the weakness in our boarders. None ever got his name, but they each stated that they had his scent and knew what he looked like. It was odd to us that someone was practically prancing around us, and we not know what it was about. But as long as they were staying non-violent then it could wait until we were done with Milton and the issues that come with that. We also decided to use the newly installed cameras at our boarders to our advantage for this and went looking through the footage to see if we could spot him ourselves. The cameras were installed after the last rogue attack getting so far inward our pack land. While we still didn’t lose any one during either attack we were making sure that it stayed that way. So, we upped the way we do patrols, placed the cameras out there, and changed of few other things. It was while watching the video that we saw the man in question and noticed that he only came during certain times of the day. And only watched so long as the warriors were around. Once they had backed off enough so did he. We took screen grabs of his face and sent them to every warriors phone, telling them to be on the watch for any sightings for him.
We also decided that after talking with Dad and our Uncles that we were going to have a meeting with teams of our warriors letting them that we were going to be changing things up once again as whoever this bastard was, clearly is a new threat to the pack as he is looking for weaknesses in the patrols. And we all know that if he finds them and uses for whatever he has planned we could lose so many lives. And as the next Alphas of this pack, we weren’t too keen on letting that happen.
POV - Kallen
“Dad, what's happening to her?”
“Is she going to alright?” Stuart asked.
“Yes, like I said upstairs she is just coming into her gifts. Do you know how long it’s been since she last shifted?” he asked us. And while we knew that he wouldn’t like the answer he needed to know.
“About a month or so now. She’s too afraid to shift too often. Afraid she’s going to get someone hurt.” I answered.
The look he gave us definitely said we were in so much trouble. If looks could kill or at least paralyze then we’d stuck where we were. As a rule, Dad was never one to stop others from shifting into their wolves as much as they wanted. In fact, we have about two dozen or so warriors and families that live in their wolf forms. And while we’d normally care that we were in so much trouble with Dad, we were more worried about our mate at the moment.
