POV - Kallen
“Alright, the witch will be here soon.” Our Grandfather said. Having just shown up letting us know that he’d gotten ahold of her on his way here.
“I’m here.” a red headed, pale freckled face tall thin young woman spoke coming from a plume of red and gray smoke.
“Not who I’d summoned. So, who are you.” he said looking her up and down.
“Her daughter, she sent me because something she needed to handle came up. I am more than capable of handling whatever it is you need. I am afterall her heir to the coven.”
“Very well, come this way we need to hurry.”
“Alright, let’s see what we’re working with.” she said, grabbing our mate’s hand and earning herself a growl from both Stuart and myself. Wade wasn’t letting anyone who he couldn’t trust with absolute certainty in the door. So, for him to let the witch in here near her was special. She started to have some internal turmoil. The witch started to hum something which seemed to be relaxing both us and our mate.
“Calm down, I'm just trying to figure out the extent of her wound. Although, I can tell you she is a relative of mine. Not that I, myself, recognize her. But that my magic does. So, it seems that our families will always be intertwined with one another.” the witch said.
“What else? How bad is she?”
“Good news and bad news. I can’t do anything to help her. Until her mates do. They need to mark her and call her name. Then I can help her.”
“The one she goes by or birth? And do ALL her mates need to do this or just the ones she knows about thus far?”
“Just the ones that her wolf and human know. And, birth name, why?” she answered, hinting she knew our mate is more than just a wolf.
“Then we have a bigger problem. We don’t know it. And neither does she. In fact, Black Moon’s new Alpha says that if that file exist then it is well hidden.” Stuart said.
“So, good to know that the rumor about the scumbag Taylors’ have being dispatched permanently is true. Then I guess it’s a good thing I've summoned my mother and grandmother. They are going to be needed because the spell to help her is going to need at least three of us, maybe more.” she answers.
“Fine. Just hurry.” I ordered her. Knowing full well she isn’t of our pack. We waited by her bedside while the rest waited for her backup help to show up. ‘Stuart, you didn’t fail her. We did. We failed our mate. Not just you.’
‘I was the one holding her as we heard her heart stopped. Once she is healthy and everything is settled we need to reject her. Give her a chance at finding mates worthy of her.’ he told me. Both our wolves growled and whimpered at that thought.
‘You know, that means that if we never find a second chance mate we will never get our Alpha title.’
‘We both know that you could care less about that title. Especially after everything she is going through because we weren’t there to protect her.”
‘You can’t honestly sit there and tell me that you are alright with all this. That rejection and abdicating our role is what we deserve after failing her. We have felt the pain she is in. We have heard her heart stop. You can’t sit there and tell me that we are worthy mates for her. She deserves someone who can protect her. And that obviously isn’t us.’
‘I know, brother. But what if we can’t reject her. You heard them. We have to mark her and say her birth name just to pull her soul back from where the hell ever she currently is.’
‘I know, we have to wait to see if it’s even possible. Just, I don’t want to let her think that we are still meant for her. Once the dust settles, we need to give her back these rings.’ he said rolling his around his finger.
I simply nodded. I had been trying for the last six weeks to get him to change his mind about rejecting her. I don’t want to lose my mate and I know that somewhere deep down in him he doesn’t want to either. He's just dealing with the moment of not hearing her heartbeat as he held her. She means more to us than our own lives. And the fact that she was dead in his arms, makes him feel as if he isn’t worthy of her anymore. He and I would gladly trade places with her right now in a split second without regretting our decision.
After some time, they all finally made it back into the room and woke both of us. We were now looking at three women who looked almost identical to each other, but were grandmother, mother, and daughter. It was very creepy. But we didn’t have time to delve into that witchery right now. “You three have a spell to perform.”
“Yes. I'm sorry she looks like my older sister from Momma Linda.” the Mother said.
“A carbon copy of Kelly minus that nose. That's definitely Kyle.” the grandmother said.
“I’m confused.” I stated.
“My Mother and Father weren’t fated mates but chosen. And were together until two years after I was born. Both eventually found their respective fated mates. My mothers fated mate was an Alpha who had two daughters with his chosen mate, Veronica: Kelly and Talia. After finding each they had four of their own children, our younger siblings, and all girls. My stepfather’s chosen mate also found her fated mate. Both my father and mother are half wolf and half witch. Kelly was the oldest of Momma Linda’s and Dad’s children. Everyone insisted on being a part of each other's lives because of us all. So, Kelly’s and Talia’s mother is known as Momma Linda. My mother is known as Mom by all. My father is Daddy, Kelly’s and Talia’s is Dad. I can go more into that later. Eventually Kelly went off to college where she meet her mate the son of Alpha Black from Royal Lotus Moon Pack, named Kyle. Just a few years after Kelly met her mate Kyle they became Alpha and Luna of his father’s pack. As you probably already know I chose a coven to be with. So, I don’t know all that much of what happened the day of the attack. But they were killed. Kelly was pregnant but no one, not even Sawyer knew what the child was or if it even survived. Sawyer is Kyle’s younger brother; he could tell us more about the attack. But not about their child as he never found a body or any indication that the baby had survived. But the fact that she looks like the spitting image of my sister Kelly. Tells me we now know that answer to that.” the mother one said.
“She zapped me when I first got here, Mom.” the young witch said. This made me aware that I didn’t know her name any more than we knew the other two’s names.
“Well, of course she did. She's family.” her grandmother stated.
“Let’s get this spell started.”
“We will need every candle that your pack has access to. We will also need a few other things. And forewarning we are not in any way going to be performing black magic. But it will require blood, but only by those that give it willingly for two of the three species we need. It also requires hope from the two of you. As how you are feeling now, is just feeding into the pain she is experiencing now.”
“What kind of blood and how much?” Stuart asked.
“Simply four drops from her, a real wolf not a werewolf, and a humans all have to be fresh. And then we can get started. Hers is given from medical need. The real wolf, is the only unwitting one to give up blood. If you don’t have access to a human who is willing we do.”
“Not necessary.” Dad told her.
