A moment later we heard a knock. “Enter.” he called. And she did. “I was told that I was needed for a moment.”
“Hello, Kai-Lea. We are sorry for what was done to you back at Black Moon.” my father and I said in unison.
“You never participated in any of the abuse. So, you have nothing to apologize for.” She said.
“Even so we did nothing to stop the abuse either.” I said.
“Thank you.”
“They are here wanting to aid us in taking down Milton and his Father for good. Are you alright with that?” Their father said.
“Yes.” She said.
“You should also know that while I don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Milton is coming here in two weeks to apologize to you for the attack.” Their father informed her.
“Ok. If you think that’s best.” She said, clearly upset that he was going to be near her.
“Kai-Lea, what’s wrong?” the twin Alpha’s asked. She started to become visibly upset.
“It’s fine.” She said trying to calm herself.

I looked at her with a questioning look. Any time Milton had ever been brought up in front of her she faltered.
“No, I’m ok. I just. I don’t think he knows how to be sincere.” Kai-Lea spoke. Telling me she needed to see her therapist. ‘Kai-Lea, go see Dr. Ayonna once we are done here.’ She nodded her head with a soft sad look.
“We don’t believe he is either. We just need the opportunity to take him out here on our lands to minimize casualties. Going to Black Moon puts more risks on innocents and our warriors than necessary.” I told her. She seemed to relax with that.
“Is there anything else needed from me?” she asked, not really wanting to be in the conversation any longer than she had been.
“No, you can go.” With that she left. I linked her therapist letting her know that she will be there shortly and that we need to find out a way to get her to open up about what all he had put her through.
“She seems like she’s doing good.” Beta Chandler said.
“Yes, well it’s been an adjustment for us all.” I said, in all honesty it has been. She barely slept and still insisted on doing chores while attending school and going about everything, when she first arrived here. It took us almost a year to get her to where she is now. I wasn’t going let the Taylor’s harm her mental state any more than I was willing to let them physically touch her.
We got back on point and talked about a plan that included the Beta and his son, faking his and his mates death. We also discussed a plan of taking down Milton either upon his arrival here for his apology or as he was leaving here. The Beta’s son would then become Alpha of the pack, unless they were willing to become part of Green Mountain. Not that they were opposed to that, just they weren’t sure how that would work with our packs not being physically anywhere near each other. Kallen and Stuart were slightly unsure of his ability as Alpha. Not that the young man wasn’t capable. It was more that you could see that he was wanting to make up for the mistakes of his current Alpha. Which was not that it was his place. And both my sons and I knew that doesn’t really make for a great Alpha. But, we’d have to cross that bridge if we came to it. Until then the young man would have to do.
After they left, I decided to go talk to Kai-Lea and see what progress she made in therapy. And if she had actually made any with opening up about Milton.
“How was your session with Dr. Ayonna?” I asked as we were eating and chatting.
“It was good. Thanks, Dad. She said that finding it hard to cope with trauma also stems from ones inability to open up. And suggested that I talk about what I’ve been avoiding since we’ve started my sessions. With you and the twins asking me about Mil- Milton. It brought memories which are painful and not my best thoughts. It worried me that something that used to happen could happen again. But after thinking about you and the twins, I remembered that you both have told me that I’m safe and no one will ever touch me like that again. Thank you for saving me, Dad. It’s my favorite memory.” She said with a smile. I hated it when she had to deal with things that took her smile from her. After taking a breath and calming herself down she changed the subject, “So, that keyboard that I've been working on. The detachable model for gaming systems, well I thought about making a modified version of it for other handheld items like cell phones, tables, and other gadgets. But it isn’t wanting to work like I thought, so could I get your help with coding, Dad?”
“I’m glad that’s your favorite memory, and good job with therapy.” I said smiling back at her, “And absolutely. Are you talking about the breakaway set, with separated keys or the full bar.”
“The breakaway set. It’s not talking to its counterpart. One side or the other will connect, but not both or together.” she explained.
