POV - Kai-Lea
We arrived an hour ago. Mom explained that while normally we’d have been greeted at the doors. Like they were when I first meet them, back at Black Moon. Auntie is busy dealing with pack issues.
I told her it was ok as it would give me more time unpacking my bags so that the room wasn’t a complete pig sty. Afterwards I decided to go walk around and find if they had a garden I could sit in and read. Since coming to Royal Green Mountain, I have discovered that outside of technology I love to read. And loved doing it while sitting among flowers. As it helped me relax, being able to read whenever and whatever I wanted always cheers me up. And while missing the twins a lot more than anticipated, I definitely needed something to cheer me up to relax me. When I finally saw a pond and decided to sit on the bench by it instead of finding some flowers. The pond sort of sang to me. It was nice. The pond held some odd type of fish, they looked peaceful and reminded me of the twins. It was helping ease some of my current tension.
“There are at least three of them in there. Two males and a female. Though for some reason she likes to hide from the guys. Like she’s trying escape or something. My sister thinks that she’s just playing hard to get. But, who knows.”
“Oh… they are very peaceful. These two remind me of the twins.”
“That’s because they were born the same day as my dorky cousins.” The girl said.
“You know what twins I’m referring to?” I questioned the girl I’ve never met. I was curious to know how she knew which twins out there I was referring to.
“Yes, You’re Kai-Lea. My cousin’s mate. My bad, I suck at manners. I’m Marlisa. I’m the eldest daughter I have five older brothers which are all your future, cousin-in-laws.”
“Oh… hello, nice to meet you.”
“So, you like reading?” she asked noticing my book.
“Yes, it’s fun. It relaxes me.”
“Well, you can read later put the book down and come on, maybe I can show you another way to relax. One I think you’ll really like.”
“Ok. But it’s safe right?” I asked hesitant about going anywhere with this girl she seemed worse than Chellea or Gussie put together. And they are the definition of hyper.
“Yeah, it’s safe, come on.” She said. I still didn’t feel all that confident about her answer. But I put my book down and followed her anyway. We walked further and further away from the pack Packhouse. This worried me more than I thought it would.
“You’re sure this is safe?”
“Yes.” She said laughingly at me.
“That’s not exactly filling me with confidence.” I told her.
“Just come on.” She said after rolling her eyes and moving forward. We walked until we were fully into the woods going further and further. So, I decided at this point it was best to mind link someone.
‘Hey guys, so do you have a cousin named Marlisa? If not, some strange woman has led me away from the pack Packhouse.’
‘We do have a cousin named Marlisa and yet still a strange woman has led you away from the pack Packhouse.’ Stuart said. Sounding full of it and yet so sure of himself.
‘That doesn’t make me feel any better. Great to know that she telling the truth about that part, at least. Where is she taking me?’
‘Just wait for it. She won’t put you in serious danger. We promise.’
‘Fine. I’ll just link Mom before she kills me.’
‘She’s not going to kill she got our permission to take you where she is as she figured you’d be like this.’
‘Promise.’
‘Promise.’
“Alright we are here.” She said turning out of the way. I was now standing on the edge of the riverbank, and a trickle-down waterfall that looked so beautiful. It looked like fifteen little stairs, but the steps weren’t on top of the other like a normal set, more like climbing a rock wall kind of. It was so serene, beautiful.
“Wow. This is gorgeous.” I looked down as saw another one of those fish from the pond, “Hey there’s another one of those fish.”
“They’re called Koi fish and that’s the female. Aunties and Mom helped Grammie make the pond connect to the stream. The guys stay mostly in the pond. She stays back here for the most part. I’m told there are more in here somewhere, but I honestly haven’t seen them. On occasion though, she will go to the pond with them but not very often. They spend some of their time coming out here looking for her but not much.”
“Look, the female has a lotus flower in its pattern. Cool.” I knew probably sounded like a pup in that moment. But these fish fascinated more than I thought possible. It also made me wonder if this meant the girl fish and I shared a birthday. I mean after all the boys and the boy fish share a birthday. This is more reason that I know I sound like a young pup.
“Oh… she does look at that.” She said, I couldn’t stop smiling, I knelt down and put my hand in the water. The girl Koi fish came closer to me and touched my hand. I felt connected to her. She then moved away and went into a hole in the side of the riverbank. It made me wonder if she was headed to the two Koi fish. Or off somewhere else.
“My little sister linked me that she’s over there loving up on the other two. She’s never done that before.”
“I guess she just needed something to connect to outside of the water.”
“I’d say it’s more than that. I heard you say she has a Lotus in her pattern. And she’s connected to the male Koi in the pond since touching you. She’s connected to the one born when she was. You are her counterpart while they are theirs. You know there are rumors that there is a portal to the Moon Goddesses realm somewhere along this stream. Also, there are in fact more male fish, four more. Meaning I think I can now help my sister find your birth family. Or at least give you a birthdate. I also think that means four more mates out there somewhere.” A strange woman said.
She looked like Mom in the eyes and chin. But her hair was almost white it was so blonde.
“Thank you, I’d like that very much. And yes, I do, I just don’t know who they are just yet.” I told her.
“I’m Clayra. Marlisa’s Mother, and Mom’s little sister.” Eliminating the awkwardness in the air.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Kai-Lea.”
“I came to get you and my silly daughter for dinner.”
We headed back. ‘I think I’m going to have to find a way to visit this place more often. This riverbank with the trickle-down waterfall was something out of fairytales and blissful dreams.’ I told me other souls. They just purred back at me. It felt like something more, though. Not that I could figure out what it was or put my finger on why.
