Chapter 33

Tank

Brick, Ace, Lug Nut, Axel, Thor and I are in Viper’s office talking about what Brick found yesterday. He was able to get license plate numbers from three vehicles that were near the club when Lilly felt someone watching her. Brick is going to run all the plates to see if any belong to the guy we are looking for. We are also making plans for one of us to stake out the bar the guy goes to to see if we can find him. We are making sure Lilly is cover for guards when we hear shouting from the hallway.

Brick opens the door and we hear a few bunnies shouting. Just as I get to the door I hear Brit yell “ Come one girls. Let’s take out the trash. The guys will probably reward us.” When I get to the door I see Brit grab Lilly’s arm. I see red. Who the fuck do they think they are grabbing Lilly. “ Let her go! Touch her again and you will be out on your ass before you can blink.” I bellow. I ran up to Lilly pushing the bunnies out of the way. “ Lilly, are you ok?” “ She nods “ Yea. Their screeching hurt my ears though.” “ What the fuck is going on here?” Viper asks. Angel goes over to Viper and Brit comes to me trying to act innocent. Brit says “ Tanky, we were just taking this fake ass trash out. You know she doesn’t belong here. We got rid of her once then she had to go and fake being hurt so you brought her back. But look at the cow. She isn’t hurt at all. It is time for her to go.”

How have I never noticed that Brit if fucking nuts? Accusing Lilly of faking injuries. Brit has lost her mind. Before any of us can say anything I hear Angel scream. I turn and see Merigold and she is pissed. Oh fuck. This isn’t good. A pissed off Merigold is not something anyone is brave enough to handle. Dragging Angel Merigold passes me and grabs Brit by the hair. She drags them both to the main room. I take Lilly’s hand and we all follow. Merigold throws Brit and Angel to the floor. Merigold looks at Viper vibrating with anger. Even Merigold’s husbands won’t go near her when she is like this. “ Viper you or me?” Merigold asks. She is asking who is going to deal with the bunnies. Merigold might kill them if she doesn’t calm down. Merigold is extremely protective over Lilly and fuck up someone for touching her. Viper looks at the bunnies on the floor and smirks “ Both.” Oh fuck. I can hear Lilly giggle beside me. She knows the shit has hit the fan.

Brit and Angel are terrified. They should be. Merigold can be ruthless when she wants to be. And Viper rules with an iron fist. He doesn’t take fuck ups lightly. And those two fucked up big time.. They have been warned to leave Lilly alone. Viper yell for all the bunnies to come in. I know he is fixing to make an example out of Brit and Angel. When all the bunnies are gathered Viper” I'm sick and tired of you bunnies thinking you are running things. You are here because I let you. You aren’t club members. You will never be.” Brit tried to get up “ But Viper.” Merigold shuts up by stepping on her back, pushing her to the floor again and holding her down. “ Hush important people are talking. We don’t need to hear from nobody’s like you.” Merigold says.

“ I want all of you bunnies to listen to me because this is your last warning. Lilly is off limits. That is my sister, the same as Merigold. Lilly is a full member of this club. You bunnies are not. You are nothing but holes for us to use. You are replaceable. Lilly belongs here, you bunnies don’t.” Viper looks around and spots Lilly. “ Lilly, could you come here?” I am about to take her to him when Lilly stops me. She squeezes my hand “ I have got this Tank. I’ll be right back.” Lilly gets up on her toes, places her hands on my face and kisses my cheek. I let her go knowing she needs to do this on her own. But I’m scared. Viper is halfway across the room and there are people in Lilly’s way. I’m sure Lilly will know what direction to go. Then I hear a boot tapping on the floor. I look and see Viper is doing it. I can help but smile. He is telling Lilly where he is. I have to admit it is clever.

I see all of my brothers smiling as Lilly makes her way to Viper without help. They are all proud of how much she has accomplished in a short time. When Lilly gets to Viper he is beaming at her with pride. “ You wanted to see me Mr. Viper” Lilly asks as if nothing is going on around her. Viper groans. He hates it when she calls him mister. “ Lilly, I should have done this a while ago. You are our family. Merigold’s and mine. I am making clear to everyone here you are our sister and will be treated as such.” Merigold chimes in “ What he is saying is we are officially adopting you just without the paperwork.” We all laugh at that.

Viper hugs Lilly to his side “ Now that you all know. Lilly should be treated as a full member of this family. Now Lilly tell us what Brit and Angle did and said to you.” Lilly tells us how they shoved her. Accused her of faking her injuries.Said they were going to make the club happy by throwing Lilly out. Viper is turning red with anger. “ Anyone else think Lilly is faking?” No one is stupid enough to answer. Except for Brit. “ Tanky, you hate her as much as the rest. You have to know she is faking. Nobody saw her get hit. She probably gave herself those injuries.” I go to Lilly and wrap my arms around her. I need her close to me right now as I relive the horror of that day. I look at Brit with disgust. I can’t believe I ever let this crazy near me. “ I saw her get hit. I was standing not ten feet away. I saw her roll off the truck and hit the ground. I saw her get loaded in the ambulance. I was there when the doctors said she was in a coma.” Brit looks shocked and shuts.

“ Merigold, they are yours to punish for putting their hands on our sister. I won’t put my hands on a woman no matter how deplorable they are.” Viper says. Merigold doesn’t waste any time. She tackles Brit first landing punch after punch. Yelling the whole time “ Don’t ever touch my little sister again.” I see Angel try to scurry away but Gretchen grabs her. “ I don’t think so.” She tells Angel. Gretchen holds Angel until Merigold is ready for her. Gretchen is one of the better bunnies. Yes she fucks a few guys, but she helps out wherever she can. When Merigold was hurt she helped care for Jace and Jax. When Lilly came home after she talked to Lilly, Gretchen started helping Lilly out. I have never touched Gretchen myself but I know a small few have.

While Merigold is dealing out her form of justice Lilly gets my attention. “ I need to talk to Viper. That’s why I came down.” I get Vipers attention. He looks at Lilly “ What’s up?” He asks. “ I need a ride, Viper. Dr. Rodgers called and she wants to see me in her office as soon as possible.” “ Ok. Did she say why? Is there a problem?” Viper asks. Lilly says “ No. Other than that, she found something that might help and wants to discuss it more in her office.” Viper nods. “ Pres if you don’t need me I will take Lilly.” “ Yea. Go. I want to know everything when you get back. Good or bad, got it.” Viper says. Lilly holds her arms out to Viper. He wraps his arms around her. “ I’ll let you know as soon as we get back, Viper.” Lilly says. Viper smiles even though she can’t see him. “ Who knew all I had to do to get you to stop calling me mister was to adopt you.” Lilly laughs. “ Love you too, big brother.” “ Tank, are you ready?” Lilly asks. I wrap my arm around her shoulder “ Yea, sweetheart. Let’s see what the doctor has to say.” Viper doesn’t say anything, just grins. Merigold sees us walking out the door and yells “ About fucking time.” I laugh at her antics. I guess I wasn’t hiding my feelings for Lilly as well as I thought I was.
