Chapter 58
Lilly
I got Axel to give me a ride to the clubhouse since he was on his way there. Tank had called and said he wanted to work out after he was done with club business. He offered to come get me since I have my last fitting with Anna, but Merigold said I should call Axel since he was on his way. So now with Axel’s help Harley and I are walking in the club. This is my last down day before the concert. I can’t believe it is just two days away. So saying I’m nervous is a joke. On the outside I keep up appearances that I am fine. But inside I’m freaking out. What if they don’t want me back. What if I can’t sing as well? What if I fall off the stage? What if I forget a dance step? All of this and more go through my head on a daily basis. But I did this before and I’m going to do it again. I’m not going to let my fears get the best of me. But enough about my many freakouts.
When I get in the club I expect to be greeted by Anna but instead I get my favorite nephews. “ Aunt Lilly. You here. Yeah.” they squeal. “ Easy boys, you can run at your aunt like that. You don’t want to hurt her do you.” “No daddy. We not going to hurt Aunt Lilly. We love her. But it been a long time since we see her. We miss her.” Jax says. “ Yes, and she not sing for us since her got better. She sing with other peoples but not us. It not fair. ” Jace says. Ouch that hurt. My little men are feeling neglected. Well, I’m going to fix that right now. And make sure it doesn’t happen in the future.
“ Axel, could you help me keep an eye out for Anna. I have to fix this. They are right. They have been my biggest supporters and I have neglected them.” “ Sure, Lilly.” Axel says. “ Thanks. Do you think I could do it here in the main room or the playroom?” “ I’m sure it will be fine here. I’ll escort you to a booth.” Axel takes my arm and helps me sit. I have him sit the boys on the table in front of me. “ Boys, you are right. I haven’t sang with you in a while. That was wrong of me and I am sorry. If I sing you two songs right now will you think about forgiving me?”
“ Two songs, a dance and hugs. Then we forgive.” Jax says. I have to bite my tongue to not laugh. When Jax is in serious mode he hates to be laughed at. “ Young man, I thank you for forgiving me. You have a deal.So what songs do you want. And are you going to help?” “ One sec.” Jace says. I let them talk amongst themselves to figure out what songs they want me to do. While I’m waiting I hear footsteps but don’t pay attention. My focus is on my nephews. “ Ok. Yes we sing with you. But dance song second.” Jax says. “ First song is ‘ in my heart’” Jace says. I know the one they are talking about. It is ‘ You Will Be In My Heart’ by Phil Collins from the Tarzan movie. So I grab their hands and sing.
