Chapter 41

Tank

Viper called Goof and I along with the rest of the brothers into his office. I begin to explain what happened on the way home. Even as I fill him in, my thoughts go to Lilly. She could have gotten hurt badly. If it wasn’t for Harley pushing Lilly down just in time she could have been hit with one of the bullets flying around. I knew that dog was going to be helpful for Lilly but to protect her like he did. I wasn’t aware that it was in his training. But I am grateful for it. And I’m going to give him a major reward for it. I’m thinking a nice juicy steak is in order.

“ These fuckers are getting desperate. They are going to try to grab Lilly no matter what the cost. We need to find them before they can get to her. Goof I want you to go to Grif’s tonight and stake the place out. If you find the guy we are looking for, call us so we can grab him.” Viper says. “ Tank, I want you and Brick to enforce security at Harry’s. Lilly’s concert is coming up. From what Lug tells me the show is expected to have a full house. That is over four hundred pe0ple. That will be the perfect time for someone to try to grab her. I want one of our guys with her at all times that night. I want the front of the stage covered as well as the sides. I’m going to call Casper and see if he can loan us some guys. We are going to need all the extra hands we can get for that show.” Viper continues.

While I’m not thrilled to have to call in another club for help I will do anything to keep Lilly safe. And Casper’s crew aren’t bad guys. We have worked with them before on some other things. Since we had our assignments we all left. I know I need to get with Brick but first I want to check on Lilly. Viper is walking with me to the med room when I see Harley walking Lilly out. I forget everything else but Lilly. I ran up to her and immediately started checking her over. I see she has a small cut on her cheek and a bandage on her arm. I continue looking her over for any other injuries when I feel her shake me and yell. “ Nick!” I shake my head “ What?” Lilly laughs “ I have been calling you but you ignored me. Listen, I'm ok. Just a couple scraps.” She places her hand on my face. “ Nick, honey. I promise I’m fine.” I turn my head and kiss the palm of her hand.

“ Why is she calling you Nick?” Brit asks. I turn to look at her and shake my head. Now that I am sober the more I see how fucking stupid she is. I open my mouth to answer but Lilly beats me to it. “ I’m calling him Nick because that is his name you dumb bitch.” The club starts laughing. Even me. And I am proud of Lilly for not taking shit from Brit. “ I never knew your name.” Brit whines. “ Because you weren’t important enough to be allowed to use it.” Lilly says.I pull Lilly into my arms. “ That’s right sweetheart. Only you are.” “ You never gave me a nickname. How am I not important enough. I have been sucking your dick for months. We have fucked hundreds of times over the years. You were going to make me your ol’e lady.” I feel Lilly tense up in my arms. I’m so sick of this shit. Brit has now pushed me too far this time. Harley is growling at Brit from in between me and Lilly. “ Don’t growl at me you stupid mutt. I’ll skin you alive.” Brit yells. “ Like hell you will Brit. That mutt as you call him is a member of this club. You won’t touch him without answering to me.” Viper said. “ But it is a dog.” Brit whines. I turn to Brit while keeping my arm wrapped around Lilly. “ Enough Brit. Shut your nasty mouth and listen carefully. Lilly is right. You were never anything special. Yes we have fucked and you sucked my dick because that is your job. That is what you are here for. That is your only use. This dog.” I say pointing to Harley. “ Has more skills than you. You think because you can suck dick you can boss people around and treat others like shit but you can’t. Not here. I don’t know where you got the idea that I was going to make you my ol’e lady. I know I never said it.”

“ I heard you talking to Ace. Saying you needed to get an ol’e lady kutte made. And you wanted Merigold to help design a property tattoo.” Brit said. “ And you thought I was talking about you?” I asked. “ Or course. Who else would it be?” Brit said. I literally have Lilly in my arms. I have been in Lilly’s bed all week. “ I was never talking about you Brit.” I turn to Lilly. I pull her chin up so I can look in her eyes when I say this. I wanted to surprise her but that isn’t going to happen now since Brit opened her big mouth. “ I was talking about the girl who makes my heart beat faster with just a smile. I was talking about the only girl who could make me think about settling down. The girl who even though the world keeps knocking her down she finds the inner strength to get right back up. I’m talking about the girl that can get me hard with just the smell of her body spray.”

I put a hand on Lilly’s cheek and rub my thumb along her jaw. “ I was talking about the girl who was brave enough to give me a chance even after I was an asshole to her. I was talking about the girl whose voice brings joy to hundreds of fans. The girl who I want to kiss every chance I get. The girl who has been in my arms every night this week and I never want her to leave. I am talking about the girl that sees more in me than just a biker or club enforcer.” I turn and look at Brit one more time. “ And you Brit are not that girl.” I turn back to Lilly.” That girl always has been and always will be this beautiful woman in my arms. Lilly I wanted to do this differently. More special without the entire club staring at us. I am not a man who is good with words. But I’m trying. I want you to wear my kutte and my mark. I want you to be my ol’e lady, Lilly. Please.”

I see a tear slide down Lilly’s face “ I’m sorry, sweetheart. I never meant to make you cry. If you aren’t ready. I will understand.” “ Nick, stop. These are happy tears. I promise. For a man who isn’t good with words, you just said some of the sweetest words I have ever heard. And I don’t care that everyone is watching because all I care about is you and me. And yes Nick. I will be your ol’e lady. I would be honored to wear your kutte and mark.” Lilly says with a smile so bright the room is lighting up. I released the breath I didn’t know I was holding. I pick her up and plant a kiss on her wonderful lips. “ Thank you Lilly. I am so happy you are letting me be yours.” Lilly whispers against my lips `` Silly Nick. I have always been yours. It just took you awhile to see it.”

I turn to Viper “ I’m going to need that kutte sooner than I thought.” He laughs “ I’ll get right on it with Merigold’s help. Congrats brother.” giving me a half hug. Merigold on the other hand runs up and damn near knocks both me and Lilly over. “I’m so happy for both of you. And Tank I have to agree with Lilly. That was the most romantic speech I have ever heard.” Merigold squeals. Axel and Rowdy come up next “ Congrats brother and thanks for setting the bar so high for the rest of us. Now we have to step up our game.” Rowdy jokes. The rest of our brothers come up and congratulate me as well as threaten me. Ace was the worst. He told me if I ever hurt Lilly again or if Ii ever stood in the way of her music he had no problem putting a bullet in my head and burying me six feet under. I told him if that happens I would not fight him.
