Chapter 76
Lilly
After our short but sweet wedding we had a small reception with the club, the band and all the employees from Harry’s. Tank had finger foods. Harry supplied the drinks. Tank and I even had our first dance as husband and wife to Luke Combs ‘Forever After All’. Poor Tank couldn’t really dance so it was more like dancing at a junior high school dance where we just swayed back and forth. But you know what, I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I had know hand in the wedding or reception but Tank made it a magical day for me that I will be telling our future kids someday. But as usual all good things must come to an end. I would love to be swept off to our honeymoon but I have a show to get ready for. Tank assured me that after the show we would be going on a week-long honeymoon and would be back in time for my next show. This man is perfect.
As Anna was helping me get dressed in my costume I thought about one of tonight's songs. Now that I’m married it doesn’t seem right. But on the other hand everything is planned. Anna asked me what was bothering me and I explained it to her. After thinking about it for a minute she told me I should do the show as planned. Tank knows it is just an act and won’t take offense to it. She even said that she would talk to Tank about it and explain my worries. She said he would be fine like he has been before. I dance with the guys all the time so now shouldn’t be any different. I hope she is right.
I adjusted my outfit one more time before taking my place on the stage. This outfit is way different from all the others I have worn and I’m a little nervous about it. I’m wearing red leather pants paired with a blue skin tight halter top and white three inch heeled shoes. Yes I have a theme going and you will see why soon. What nobody has picked up on yet even my band is that every show has a theme. Last week was easy. It was Halloween. The show before my accident was about being strong even when life knocks you down. Ironic now that I think about it. I hope when people listen to our music they walk about feeling good. Maybe helping them escape their problem for two hours one night a week.
I stay in my spot while Lug performs his first song. Normally Lug and Neil each do a song then I come out. Today we are doing it differently. Lug is doing Zac Brown Band ‘ Homegrown. Neil is doing Styx ‘ Too Much Time On My Hands’. Then they have one they want to do together but won't tell me about. Judging by the way they are acting they are up to trouble but I don’t say anything. As long as it is fun, who cares. Besides, it gives me more time to watch the guys. I love hearing the audience react to them.
